We need more of your videos. Your channel has become one of my daily habits because of the valuable information it contains, your wonderful openness and transparency in work. This channel has become like a series that is waiting for a new episode to come out. I wish you more success and brilliance in your professional and personal life.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, could you in future try to investigate if those small boards can be repaired because in other regions it is very difficult to order those boards.
am i the only one that finds his accent really adds something to the video? i dont only enjoy the content i just like listening to him talk it through...it just works, its like geek asmr :D
Love watching you work bud. Looks easy when someone who has the tools and knows how to use them and their craft experience makes it flow but you're a business as well. Not a community college teacher in class. Nothing wrong with being a teacher but business is business. All the more power to you. I'm gaining valuable tips from your channel.
I know a lot of this seems simple to you but it's very complicated to me, and I've been repairing stuff for almost a year now. I want to know why you choose the certain pins to test. If you are able to, I'd love for the next video you release to include some sort of brief explanation of why you chose to measure where you do, and why it helps you come to your conclusions. I love watching your videos and I've already learned so much. Thank you and keep posting!
Alex never gives up, his mind is very analytical that’s why he is on point. It’s Important to give attention to every little details cos that small board corrosion had a big part to play in this laptop’s repair.
I got to know the channel a little while ago, I'm a resident of Brazil and I'm studying electronics and I've been learning a lot with videos, thank you. As a resident of Brazil, I believed that in the USA there weren't many repair services for electronic equipment. since the equipment in the USA is relatively cheaper in relation to its purchasing power and expensive labor. For us residents of Brazil, practically all electronics are expensive because our purchasing power in relation to the dollar is almost 6 times less. the PS5 here costs almost 5 monthly salaries. God Job!
It's funny how something you don't even consider can lead you to fail to fix a device... Electronic is so tricky but I'm still in love with it. Thanks for sharing...
I love how you are persistent and I believe you actually enjoy fixing the things you are working on. It is easy to just give up and move on to the next one. Those Spectors keep coming in for repair.
Good we call you the magic man who bring a smile on our face even when he is working at his project wonderful job keep up the good work greetings from the electronic man from the Netherlands
All those years of experience in this field, still learning new things everyday. That's what we face in this field of work. Each device has its unique problem and unique solution. Even some board solutions have no logical explanation
Good find. I had a Lenovo laptop that had the very same problem with a small power switch board similar to yours. Surprised it was only the power board switch and nothing else. It was super nice to have an exact board to use. Always nice to see your face light up when you get things to work.
I like how you first heat up the center mass on the board below the chip to reduce heat stress on the chip. You have a logical method for everything and I think it adds longevity to your repairs. Thus happy customers.
I always love the smile after fix, i am inspired, i am starting my repair shop here in our home, i do have clients, but my problem is parts replacements, specifically mosfets, anyways, thanks Alex for sharing your ideas, love here from the Philippines. 😊
Nice video. It just goes to show that at the end of the day the least expected culprit can still be the culprit. Props to the whole trouble shooting and putting another piece of electronic equipment back into service so it can be used once again!
Thanks for Sharing such valuable knowledge... by Watching all your videos today i m able to troubleshoot the circuit and repair them. Today I also gave up on repairing water pressure pump circuit on which i was working more than a week, atlast decided to pack it up.. but at the last run it worked like a charm... So Today i got to know how much believing in yourself can help you to get out from downsides of your life..🙂
Im a troubleshooting electrician. High and low voltages. Nothing like finding the issue when you are at the end of your witts. You learn, and you rejoice. Love my job.
Absolutely have no interest in fixing laptops but these videos appeared on my feed. First with other youtubers then saw one of your comments which took me to your channel. I prefer to watch your videos actually. Think I'll subscribe.
Wow I start watching your videos and I find that I can't stop, your knowledge and excepted is fantastic, but most of all I like you don't give up so easily and you think outside of the box. Thank You !
I can't do more than just love you sir you're the best always honest and eager to admit I love you and believe in you... But the fact that I cant get the opportunity to meet you in person to ask you some questions so that I can improve my self pulls me down 😔 however you're the best sir
Why don't you try to find the problem with the power board just for educational purposes 🤔? It would be interesting if you could find the cause of board failure. Thanks in advance!
Maybe when he can he will. This guy is running a business and probably doesn't have a lot of time due to the massive backlog of things to repair But you're right for the viewers it would be a lovely video for education :)
I guess I should say I want to see you troubleshoot that tiny board since everyone else is asking. lol I have dealt with a bunch of HP machines over the years. Their 2-in-1s are a pain in the ass because they crammed everything in place without enough electrical isolation. At least that is my current hypothesis--HP sucks beyond measure when it comes to getting the angry pixies where they need to go. I Have a stack of HP Elite x2s at the office that are all at different stages of frying themselves. Usually it is the wi-fi or the mobile broadband boards that get hit first. Then they eventually end up like the 360 you are working on in this video: No light, no charge, nothing. Honestly I am afraid to leave anything HP makes plugged in overnight/unsupervised. 8 years ago I bought an HP AIO inkjet for home use. It was a nice printer for what it cost, and the scanning wasn't too bad either. I liked it so much that I bought one for my parents. Then one day mine just stopped working and I was only able to get it to turn on after leaving it unplugged for several days. After a few weeks my parents' printer stopped working too. A whole lot of troubleshooting later and I discovered that these cheap HP inkjet printers were somehow destroying whatever outlets they are plugged into. No sounds of arcing or any obvious overheating, the outlets just die after some random number of days. And I mean these outlets are DEAD dead, no matter if they were connected to a wall outlet, power strip, UPS, what have you. I couldn't get a desk lamp to work on those outlets after they got the HP treatment. A few years later and I am trying to help a friend's parents with their printing issue... "It won't turn on, you say?" Nope. And the outlet it was connected to was dead as a doornail just like my situation. I unplugged everything and then showed them what was happening. I hauled the HP printer to a recycling center and they went shopping for a printer from "anyone but HP". These are all older incidents, but I talk myself into trying another HP product every few years or so. Same issues with slightly different behavior every time for laser printers, inkjet printers, laptops, tablets, and PCs. I still don't know how it is killing wall outlets though...no scorching, just no juice...
Before any repair try to do the easy steps to diagnose. Sometimes it helps like in this case. I can imagine you have to resolve lots of difficult board issues and you are used to do a deep troubleshooting. Anyway I like your videos and you do a great job. Good luck in life and in business. :-)
I was over here praying please let it be the board like if I was the one doing the work that’s how exciting we get looking at you’re videos good work 🤣🤣🤣
As always your methodic approach to canceling out what is bad and going to the next issue you find always awesome repairs a few duds butt that's not your fault there is a limit to rebuilds
Keep doing what you do. Love your videos! I my self try to do some repairs ones an a while. Don¨t have the proper equipment to do that, but have to manage on whats in hand, Keep up the great work!
Thnk you so much I have use this steps and my mine ...I really appreciate sir 4 giving us your know and skill you have save me twice....this one I nearly give up and saw this vidéo...giving me moral...thnkz again ...
i have repaired a few of those too also and this one is really tricky, the plastic case can actually cause the switch to not turn on due to a push single throw. ie the swich stays compressed so u dont actually get full turn on
Nice troubleshoot on a cple HP I worked on theres a protection kill diode on some , if some one trys a different charger brick or shorts it the diode frys and appears to be a dead MB, in reality its a false protection switch that basicly has no use but maybe make you spend more on their products
Your face when you fix something is priceless. Keep up the good work! You made me understand that is one day I have a issue with my laptop, ipad or something, I will NOT try to fix it myself!
Wow amazing... luckely you had the exact same laptop there to test. Maybe a follow up video on the powerbutton board? Maybe the multimeter or thermal cam can find something on this board too. Ones again great video Alex 👍🏻
I watched this video months ago and to no surprise I find myself dealing with almost the same issue so I'm going to try and make sure first its not the psu if not I'm guessing its this board.
Love your videos! I've learned a lot. Quick question tho, is it not worth trying to fix that power board? Maybe it's something easy on that to fix. Just curious
I wondering if it was due to some logic on that power switch board like a Power Good signal that caused the issue. It does not seem to be the button since the charging light was not even coming on. I know on some HPs simply disconnecting power and battery and pressing and holding the power button sometimes solve power-up issues but this one seems to have component issues on that board.
I always wait for the amazing smile of yours the moment the device is fixed 😁
Best moment of all
Indeed. He clearly loves the puzzlers.

That was an awesome video. Its great to see you end a long work day with a fixed device.
It feels really good when you finally figured out the problem.

i actually like you... your not full of bs like most people, you seem legit! i respect your work!
Wow I start watching your videos and I find that I can't stop, your knowledge and excepted is fantastic, but most of all I like you don't give up so easily and you think outside of the box. Thank You !

Great narrative and enjoy the sense of fixing these faulty devices. Brilliant keep uploading more videos.

Because if some ic or chip get sorted by mistake the shopkeeper have to pay the owner.
Probably yes , but the time to fix it maybe the board is cheaper
Yes I have to agree he has a backlog of other components to repair. yet it would be interesting to see him fix that board or diagnose it.
He is way to busy to play about with broken parts
Master piece of work with little luck and later great smile. . Well done indeed
good work brother
Persistence pays off. 👍
Another extra ordinary work. Nice to watch always. 🤩
I like when you say it's fixed!

I expected the thermal camera to be the MVP, but I was wrong!
Another Spectre , damn it HP
Could just be due to volume.
Keep doing what you do. Love your videos! I my self try to do some repairs ones an a while. Don¨t have the proper equipment to do that, but have to manage on whats in hand, Keep up the great work!

Love it 👍. Victory is always sweet.
You are a great technician
i have repaired a few of those too also and this one is really tricky, the plastic case can actually cause the switch to not turn on due to a push single throw. ie the swich stays compressed so u dont actually get full turn on
Buddy on The Radio Shop told me about you.... Great video's and I did hit the buttons for you....
My brother has this laptop. Good to know its something simple if his ever does the same thing.
Don't know how I ended up here. Not mad. Cool channel bud. 😎
I enjoyed at last moment nice and exiting
Nice work. Very Good diagnostic...that was a good one. Thank you for the video. Greets

Do you always need to replace a bad mosfet with exactly the same mosfet? Is there any compatiblity table?
You have the patience of Jobe mate, it would of been a frisbee long ago!
شكرا جزيلا لك
Nice, having same issue. Will replace the power switch board
Thanks again
Excellent work!
To your fans this is a better drama than a Marvel heroes film! :)
Your face when you fix something is priceless. Keep up the good work!
You made me understand that is one day I have a issue with my laptop, ipad or something, I will NOT try to fix it myself!
Now I know how to test mosfets thank you boss
Excellent work I enjoy your videos and repair techniques thank you....
Wow amazing... luckely you had the exact same laptop there to test. Maybe a follow up video on the powerbutton board? Maybe the multimeter or thermal cam can find something on this board too. Ones again great video Alex 👍🏻
Great work, I really enjoyed the video, well done
Thanks for all knowledge sir that you ben sharing with us more power sir and god bless you...
great video of troubleshooting. thanks.
Another HP Spectre? I’m not surprised, HP need to improve their design
I watched this video months ago and to no surprise I find myself dealing with almost the same issue so I'm going to try and make sure first its not the psu if not I'm guessing its this board.
Thank you so much brother
Great video.
Your FLIR camera showed two hotspots but you only investigated the MOSFET?
So it was the switch board how amazing.
Thank you
Great Job by a master!!
2:57 at that point i said to myself, "man you are reading my mind"
is the tiny board non fixable?
Thank you for videos 👍
Thanks brother.. for sharing ,🎸😄
Always check the 3.3V (1.8V) at the power button that single step rules out a lot of possible problems.
Nice catch
Well done
good job mate.
Great fix
How do you have the same parts stock on hand? Do you have a lot of replacement components?????
Awesome job
Thanks for sharing Sir
Great work 👍👍
so satisfying
Love your videos! I've learned a lot. Quick question tho, is it not worth trying to fix that power board? Maybe it's something easy on that to fix. Just curious
And I hope to be as Good as you one-day perhaps
I wondering if it was due to some logic on that power switch board like a Power Good signal that caused the issue. It does not seem to be the button since the charging light was not even coming on. I know on some HPs simply disconnecting power and battery and pressing and holding the power button sometimes solve power-up issues but this one seems to have component issues on that board.
Very good job 👏
Wondering how many other shops would have simply mailed it back as unfixable. The level of services here is unreal.
So nice when you have a spare part lying around. So did the bad moffet take out the power switch?
What I can say amazing 👍
brillant trick !
nicely done ☮️👍
