This type of fighting against one another is what Africa doesn't need. Ghana is a country, and Abuja is a city. Abuja is a hidden gem. Many Nigerians don't even know their capital is so beautiful. Lagos overshadows Abuja cos of its size and economy so Abuja is not visited that much. In a way it's good, we don't want hordes of people pouring there and spoiling our capital. 😁
It’s because it’s in the middle of the country and has no sea or Great Lakes. So I prefer Lagos naturally as it’s where I was born and raised. It was the best years ago and it’s still a diverse city compared to Abuja. Downside, ridiculous amount of traffic everywhere with the pollution that comes with too many vehicles.

People always equate Nigeria with Lagos which it isn’t and so the hellish madness of Lagos is ascribed to the whole of Nigeria. However Lagos is the wealthiest city in Africa with a GDP the same the Ukraine or 40% that of London. It has what Abuja offers in more abundance however for a long time the country’s maintenance culture meant roads were not maintained and poor urban planning on the mainland meant heavy congestion and nightmarish travel times. Lagos is on a par with major global mega cities both economically and size wise and is set to become the largest city in the world by 2060

your headline is uncalled for. If you want to hype Nigeria, just do that without dragging Ghana in this messy content. First and foremost, the year of return is not the first of it kind in Ghana, in fact it’s so nauseating to assume that, the year of return hyped Ghana as a major destination for Africans in the diaspora.. Ghana has been welcoming the diaspora since the 1800s with the return of the Afro Brazilians, this is nothing new. Ghana has always been a beacon of pan Africanism and the emancipation of the black race... if Africa were to be a human being, Ghana would’ve been the heart. Not only what we’re taught in schools, every average reader can testify how Ghana’s resources were used in the liberation of most African countries, including your country Kenya. It pains me when you are disregarding and disrespecting the sacrifice and toil we put forth to our current state, by calling it “hype”

Nigeria will need to sort out it’s security before it becomes any type of tourist destination. Nigerians need to get a grip and come to terms with this. Stop trying to compete with Ghana and just mind what’s going on in your backyard.

We know we have security issue, the type that would have destroyed any other West African nation by now but we still dey gidigba. That should tell you something about us. We will overcome our issues. And we cannot be competing with Ghana. The economy of Lagos State is bigger than Ghana"s. LAGOS alone has a higher GDP than Ghana. LAGOS IS THE 5TH LARGEST ECONOMY IN AFRICA. So why will all of Nigeria be competing with Ghana? We aim to be a first class economy and country.
I know many people from both countries. I know Ghanaians who come to America and go back or at least visit Ghana occasionally. I don't know any Nigerian who go back home, or even visit Nigeria. Funny enough I visited 2 places you showed here on New years day in Abuja. @6:42 Jabi lake mall and the Magic Land amusement park which was so much fun. The reason for the the dirty lake is population expansion and other human activities which have compromised the water quality of the Lake which is entirely man-made and draws its supply from the Katampe Hills. I can't understand why the govt is slow on the cleanup.
That is not an excuse for the water being filled with trash. Also it is not the responsibility of the government to clean it. There is a private entity operating a busing on the lake in the name of Jabi Lake Boat Club. They can schedule to worker first two hours before the opening of business day to go on one of the boat and take those trash out. Government is not throwing trash in the lake, our fellow indiscipline fellow citizen did and our shortsighted business owners without maintenance culture.
