excellent - brings back great memories
Remembering the former tragedy, the rise of Rwanda and Kigali feels more like a dream than reality. On a planet that feels increasingly doomlike, Rwanda is a shining inspirational star.
I haven't been to Rwanda but I already miss Nyamirambo
I am not sure why I never visit Nyamirambo as much when I’m in kigali. 😅
I visited and concluded that Kigali is one of Africa's great cities.so clean and friendly people
This stupid conclusion.
@@kennykross3306 my friend, your insult is uncalled for.. Rwandan is clean and beautiful country. I want to see more of Muslim business quarters and community.
One of Africa's greatest cities... bars on the floor for that one
i am Canadian and watching these videos have made me fall in love with Kigali, I have never left Canada before but Rwanda may just be the first place I visit
thank u! we wait you. and you're welccome
There’s a bunch of Canadian expats including myself, come it’s beautiful and just as safe if not more safe than Canada and wayyy safer than the USA. I feel safer walking around at night in Kigali than Montreal.
@@Notmyrealname69420 thanks that's good to know 😊
@@Notmyrealname69420 lol im from mtl, and im tired of lockdown
Welcome to Rwanda
Major FYI!!! PLEASE VISIT RWANDA BEFORE YOU MOVE HERE. Vacationing and LIVING here are two ENTIRELY different experiences.. Every community is different and depending on what you are accustomed to and what you can adjust to will determine if this is a place for you, as well as anywhere else in the 🌎
I love Rwanda...coming from the USA. If you visit, you will come to the same conclusion.
Can you believe 28 years ago that this country experienced the most devastating experience and yet they’ve turns it around. Beautiful, one African leader with a head, need another 53
Beautiful Rwanda❤️
I'd love to visit Rwanda someday.
Thank you for bringing us this content......much appreciated!
Amazing videos! Feels like I just watched a special on a syndicated network special. Just left Kigali last week. Quality video, sounds and legit descriptions nail it. The last area is where I got a manicure/pedicure, arm/leg massage, haircut, hair washed and conditioned for 15,000 FRw (around $15) at the for men only barbershop. Keep up the amazing work!
For a country embroiled in a bloody civil war no more than 2 decades ago, this sure is a very welcomed sight.
Thanks for this awesome video, you got my subscription. One love from neighbours 🇺🇬
Immersive and informative video. Well done.
Staring is a national sport in this country 😂
Thanks dear for your beautiful video. Kimijuhura. I will check it out.
I would love to move there with my family.
You're very welcome.
New subscriber to your channel, love how you telling stories of the places you go and dispelling some of the myths of Africa!
I just left a few a days ago. Rwanda is amazing. Will be moving there soon.
well presented. Felicitations!
Hi Willie We really enjoyed your video. You have a interesting narrative. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Tanzanian Tina and UK Steve in Canada.
Very good video. Thank you.
Your videos are awesome!!!❤️🔥
I'm planning on visiting Rwanda soon. Thanks for all the info. I've been to Africa (Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria) many time but never Rwanda. Would like to stay in Kigali for a few weeks.

Great Vlog this was definitely difference Maker to help me determine where I want to live in Kigali
Thank you for sharing
This makes me 😃 I was having trouble deciding
Very well put together. New sub
Thanks for your support!
Nice, new sub from Kenya.
I love this
Thank you for your wonderful video and its make me do lots of thinking about getting retire in Rwanda. ❤❤❤👍👍👍👌
Well done thanks 🙏
Very, very beautiful country and people!
Kigali is sooo green and beautiful
The food might not taste as good as North American food but 1. It’s changing very quickly especially with the influx of Asian cuisine and better ingredients being available due to the constantly developing economy and 2. There’s vert little to no addiditives in the food. I got so much healthier when I moved here and I eat out almost every single night for less than I would spend on groceries in Canada. Just watch out for the carbs
You need to get back to nature. North American food is sooooo superficial, so full of artificial GMO things!
Go organic it's good for you, just what the doctor prescribed.
A palate can be trained you know. In Africa chicken is natural, free not caged, forages for its own food from the environment, rarely medicated, enjoys the sunshine, allowed to mate , feeds on insects, vegetables etc, not stressed! they live a life!
Delicious I tell you. For your slave chicken in north America, their suffering is transmitted to their consumers, breeds a bitterness and hate that endured in the food chain.
Do not even mention it.
My friend you don't know what's you are talking about...you can't compare American food and African food...African food are way much better.. American food are just junk food
American food?! American food is high in fats, surge, salts, full of chemicals, preservatives, artificial chemicals, high cholesterol, and is making people fat, have diabetes, and sick. Besides, Mexico, Central, and South American food in the U.S. have no nutritional value unless someone makes it more healthy at home. At least in countries like Rwanda, the food is fresh with healthier ingredients.
Staring is practically a national pass time 🤣 I have heard this before on other channels..
Yours truly is new subscriber. Inshallah. I will visit Rwanda 🇷🇼 soon.
Thanks for info.💕🙏 Please make videos of hostels/ Hotels etc. Cost of living and Tourist guides. Great info👍Best wishes.
Hello fhjiitteex🤣 thank you for the message , everything you need is eazy even if you just come with nothing, just come ,. Commonwealth countries is free visa , other countries you get Visa on airport
Beautiful, clean city. Rwandan people seem very kind and friendly.
Very beautiful.
Cleanest and safest......
Thank for sharing.
I noticed that Remera don’t have any pieces of land to sell.
Thank you:)
I’ve been in Kigali so much to see all the way to Kibeho
Nice
Thank you 😎😎😎
My number one neighborhood is Nyarutarama, residential, high standard but expensive
Thank for mentioning the meaning of the name Nyamirambo. It also sounded funny to me as a ugandan because in our local luganda language we have a similar word called Mirambo and it also means corpses.
I cant wait to visit Uganda!
That's coz we're both Bantu people. We share a lot of common words.
@@WillieFungo you re most welcome brother.
It's exactly the same in kinyarwanda, imirambo are corpses in Kinyarwanda.
What language is that ?
Thanks
Love the content brother. In the US and you really show a honest opinion of how life is in Africa. Wish you talked more about dating tho lol😂
I think, Nyarutarama would be number 2 after kimihurura.
Also there is part of Kiyovu that is more residential and so quiet. As well as Nyamirambo, it also has various well developed and quiet areas.
Otherwise, this is another great informative video, you always make great videos.
I lived in the residential part of Kiyovu for a few weeks. Huge amount of mosquitos there, and it was hard to film because of all the military checkpoints, that's why I didn't include it in this video.
We stayed in Kiyovu. not far from the president's home, in June and I agree it was extremely quiet. Very nice are away from the busier traffic a few blocks away.
I definitely agree, I'll actually separate Kiyovu and "Town" (mu mugi). I feel like they are 2 different neighborhoods!!
@@audeai4021 exactly, Kiyovu is so chilly unlike town.
I think Kagugu may also be the best for people who prefer silent neighborhoods.
kiyova best for me 😊💜💛💚
I think you forgot about VISION CITY in Gacuriro which is better than Kimhurura
Kinyarwanda is tonal. I love to hear foreigners speak it
Excellent video! I'm binge watching as I'm researching for a possible visit. What's the visa and covid requirements there now?
Visa is $100 upon entry for 3 months.
COVID advisories are released every 14 days (look for the Tweeter account for the office of the prime minister for a more updated info).
At the moment, if you are vaccinated, you just take a test upon arrival and that's all. If you are not vaccinated, you take a test and stay in a quarantine hotel until you get your results (you pay for your stay while at the hotel).
A mask mandate is still being enforced.
@@audeai4021 Thanks for the update!!
No visa please
Learn how to use websites!😃😃😃
Visa at the airport. You are welcome. Have you come already?
"Staring is a national pastime."
You crack me up!
Nyarugenge (technically a part of Kiyovou) stands out for me in Kigali
great video my friend the place looks very exciting got to visit there Rob from the UK
What a RWANDAFUL video. :D
I love Kigalia
I am interested in living walking distance to the Rwanda International Airport...
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
💯
dont forget KAGUGU, GACHURIRO AND KANOMBE
I am finally ready to visit within the next 5 month or earlier. What about about tourism are buses available or locals taxs available. I mostly will book hotel in Remera or Kiyovu. I need this info for my trip planner.
Bro, I love this video its great content and I can tell you're definitely well spoken fellow. Having said that theres just one thing you need to work on. Try and bring some enthusiasm and passion th the way you speak. Speak more confidently. Speak in a way that shows you know what you're talking about and people will follow your lead ( and your channel by extension ). Good luck out there, you've got a lot of potential.
I suggest you start your own RUclips channel and implement all those ideas. You have a lot of potential.
@@WillieFungo not big on viewer feedback, are you ? Well, keep complaining about not having subscribers then.
@@Archemik99 I don't complain about not having subscribers. This video was made many months ago.
@@Archemik99 I have 7,000 subscribers and you have one, just to put things in context. 😂
@@WillieFungo I make thousands of pounds every month ( not on RUclips ) and what do you make, apart from excuses ?
When you plan to visit Musanze?
I'll visit Musanze, Muhanga and Kibuye probably next year. Wanted to go this year, but the pandemic messed up my plans.
@@WillieFungo ok I understand
How about housing in Rwanda, cost of living? what would 500-1000 US a month get you in Kigali? or the cost to build or purchase in Rwanda?
I made a video on cost of living.
@@WillieFungo OK I will look through them
1000$ can get u lived there in good with rent and food I’m telling u 1000$=1000000rwf . But If u wanna move around u gonna need more than that. Peace ✌️ and love ❤️
Rwanda should invest in mass transit system because as they growth the traffic congestion problem is very hard solve even rich cities in the world are mess with traffic.
The city is building an urban gondola system, which will work well with its hilly topography. But unfortunately, there is no plan for an underground subway. They should start acquiring land while it is still cheap.
You have a new subscriber. I love Rwanda
I think Nyarutarama should’ve made h list
Which location would be best for someone visiting Rwanda for the first time?
Kimihurura
Hi thanks for the good work. You helped me in my decision to move to Rwanda, will be there this coming January 2022. Hope to see you👌👍
Umetuhepa?
Hello Willie.... Are there Guest Houses/serviced Rooms in Kigali? I stay in a few in South Africa. It was convenient until I could find a place. Thanks in advance. 😇
Yea, there are many of those. I like to stay at the Okapi Hotel and negotiate a monthly rate.
Bi up to Remera :-)
Please explain what you mean by the quality of food is lower in Rwanda than the US? I expected the opposite!
Yea, that's a common misconception, which is why I bring it up a lot. In Rwanda, the beef and chicken are extremely lean, stringy and almost tasteless because of low fat content. They are using a bad breed of animal and slaughtering at an advanced age. They also don't stun the animals at slaughter, which causes the meat to tense up even more. If you want decent meat, you will have to pay similar prices to the U.S., and even then it won't be as good.
Some countries in west Africa have much tastier chicken and especially fruit than the U.S. But you would be hard pressed to find good beef outside of places like South Africa or Namibia, where the industry operates at an international standard.
Beef does not encompass all foods.
@@ghostagee5232 . I disagree. The cows in Africa are fed grass. Most cows in the US are fed corn. It's not natural for cows to eat corn. Cows are supposed to eat grass. I remember when I moved from uganda to the US I found the beef had alot of fat compared to back home. Grass fed beef is healthier. And most of the food in Africa is organic. 99 percent of the food in the US is processed. Food quality is not only about beef. But even the beef in East Africa is healthier than the US.
@@ghostagee5232 . I agree. Beef doesn't encompas all foods. But even the beef and chicken in East Africa have less fat because they are less processed. It would cost an average American a fortune to eat organically in America. But organic foods are in abundance in East Africa and are cheaper. I personally prefer the lean meat because it's healthier.
@@WillieFungo According to your comment here animal grown organically ,We raise it eating organic food like soybean ,organic vegetables ,The test is very good because of the sunlight and organic food , Government enforce hygiene in different meat workers and make Radio, and television extension for peoples
How can a Supermarkt open in ruwanda?
I live in Switzerland how to buy a house in ruwanda? thanks
Kibagabaga anyone?
Kibagabaga is my home, and it's Kigali's most luxurious neighborhood. It's dubbed "the Beverly Hills of Rwanda" 😇
@@miamori13 I am wonderstruck by the progresses that are being made in Rwanda since that unfortunate conflict!
why didn't you list housing prices for all of the locations?
You can find that on the websites! Take time to do research!

Can you please share the rents in different location for a furnished apartment?
It range from 400 to 2000 Dollars
Use the websites! Don't be so dependent!
I REALLY want to live in Kigali ! It is so pretty. But I cannot get “Hotel Rwanda” or “Left to tell”out of my head. The division between the Tutsi’ and the Hutu’s is like a fresh wound for me. 😩
Have you been?
sorry for that, uko byagenda kose tugerageza kwibagirwa ibyinyuma tukareba imbere, then we smile, dance, being happy we live together as one nation Only Love matter.
@Willie Fungo, no I haven’t but I would LOVE to go.
You?
🤔 Well, tell me where you stay at, now...., I'll tell you the Hotel Rwanda and Left to tell versions of that place where are at.
Oh sorry, I'm a Rwandan who live in Rwanda since 1994, don't worry about those divisions, we have a good governance and those issues are well controlled, we live in peace. The country is so sweet.

S.A still takes it...we have the most beautiful cities in africa
I disagree
@@WillieFungo Support your statement
Why did you move to Rwanda from America? Also, do you speak Rwandan or plan to? Greta video btw
Point of correction. It was war between Rwanda kingdom and Bunyoro kingdom from present Uganda Banyoro not Burundi kingdom
This i mean the origin of the name Nyamirambo.
Staring is a pastime!😅
Rambo will disagree with you for putting Nyamirambo at 3#. Rambo said it should be #1 on the list.
There's something very sterile and suburb-like most of these scenes, but I can't put my finger on why.
So you want a more crime ridden, filthier area?
Remera is much better
You say nothing about rent in# 1.
Am a proud rwandee, see how clean rwanda is compared to Uganda.... 😂😂
