Thank you for the kind words Tish . Much appreciated. I have been way too busy with some home renovations this summer . As a result I have not gotten a chance to create more videos .. Will do so very soon , perhaps this winter . The Cable show is a great idea .. Thank you for your feedback .. very much appreciated .. Regards, - Anthony .
Thank you Vincent - Much appreciate. i could not find a decent Weeping Willow tree at a reasonable price , so I and to resort to my own devices .. lol .. Thanks - Regards, - Anthony .
Thank you so much .. Much appreciated .. Basically a result of some trial and error .. I find that poly fill works very well for trees .. Appreciate the kind words .. Regards, - Anthony -
For experimenting!? yeah that's very good I think! Basically that's your first miniature weeping willow prototype. No prototype is as good as the final production will be, but THAT one is better than a lot of people's final product. So I'd say, "mission accomplished"!
Hi , You are very welcome , I'm glad you found it useful. Let me know if you have any questions once you attempt it .. more than happy to assist . Let know how it goes ... Thanks Regards, - Anthony -
That tree is awesome. It's the best homemade weeping willow tree I've seen. The darker green of the polyester fiber contrasts perfect with the lighter green flocking material. Gives it depth and shadows. Magnificent job. Thanks for sharing! Stay well. -Wil 👍
Thanks William , Appreciate it the comments . It took me many failed attempts and techniques before I saw these results . Was definitely worth it , as it completes the lake and waterfall scene i was going after. Take care - Regards, - Anthony
Hi Frank , Thank you for the kind words .. Very much appreciated . I was desperate to find a way to make weeping willow trees for my layout , without having to mortgage my house to ( just kidding ) to buy some commercially available tress .. And that is what drove me to developing this technique using Poly fill .. it can be used to make many trees, but It works very well to simulate weeping willows .. I do have another video on how to make deciduous trees using the same technique .. check it out , if you have not seen it already .. A And thank you so much for Sub .. very much appreciated .. Please spread the word amongst your modelling buddies .. lol If there are any specific videos you would like to see, let me know .. Regards, - Anthony -
Thank you , Much appreciated ... Since I was experimenting , I didn't think it would turn out the way it did , That's why I don't have much footage of it in the making .. - Regards, Anthony .
Thank you Natalie , appreciate the Kinds and the subscription ... I always wanted to have some Weeping willow trees on the layout , but I could not find a decent ( and affordable ) commercially available product ... so I had to figure out a way to make one ... lol ... Poly fibers are so useful for so many things when it comes to dioramas etc ... Take care , regards, Anthony .
I wish I had taken a video when I was making it .. was my biggest mistake . to be honest , I never thought it would turn out the way it did .. it was my 1st ever waterfall , so I did not even have much confidence in myself when I did it .. In hindsight , I should have taken a video .. But if you are interested, I can share with you how I made the water that pours from one level to another .. email me at anthonyshobbycorner@gmail.com , and I will share with you .. Regards, Anthony .
Hi Jan , Thank you for the kind comments .. It's was a result of some experimenting with various materials driven by necessity. Polyester fill , which I used in the video turns out really well in representing leaves, shrubs etc... I'm glad you found the video useful and I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Stay safe .. Regards, - Anthony .

Anthony, That mountain behind the weeping willow tree - is that chunks of foam laid up with poly fiber over it, similar to ground cover technique? Bob s
Hey Rob, I was going to put out a video on the technique is used on the mountains as well , There is no poly fill on that mountain . And that was for a couple of reasons . 1) That mountain like all my mountains is made out of Foam from the hardware store .. your typical 1 inch think general foam . the same foam i used for a base for the entire layout . Foam is very easy to work with , and you can use a heat gun to create indents and valleys just by moving a heat gun over it carefully . I then layered various colors of paints ( Burnt umber , Crimson orange , hunter green , some grey , some black etc ) and then sprinkled some of that "Flock &Turf" stuff ( pictures I sent you ) . 2) I wanted that mountain to show distance and depth of field although the mountain in only 2 feet away from the weeping willow tree, I made it such that it would appear to be far away ( more to N scale proportions ) and so , i had to use very fine material and so the poly fill would not work too well , as it was not fine enough . I think I have a few pictures of the initial stage of the mountain prior to painting .. Maybe I will look for those pics and send to you . 3) Also , I built the mountains such that they can be removed . I was going t put a vide on that as well . Since the mountains are made out of foam , they are very very light .. and so i have them in place using magnets .. so i can just yank it out , clean the track beneath it with ease , and the just place it back , and the mountain just snaps back in place exactly where it should be placed.
Hi Rob, actually you are correct .. I complete forgot that I added the same ground cover poly fill technique and added a little of of that , on hills of the mountain ... My apologies .. I forgot that I did that ... but my previous response talks to the mountain itself .. I hope I have not confused you . Anthony ...
Fantastic idea you should have a model train cable show and have guests sharing techniques too!

Added, Liked, And saved!!! I'll be Stealing this idea and using it on my layout. Well done, Sir!
Very nice! And it just reminded me that I bought a couple of bags of polyester fibre a few years ago and never used them. Time to find it again :)
Fantastic work. This video is criminally under viewed.
