Kinda sad that you skipped days to get the green rain, but I understand why you did it. I started a new save to play the update so I'm guessing the apocalypse dialogue only happens in year 1, which makes sense since afterwards people would know the rain is harmless.

Omg I missed George's dialogue in my playthrough- It was hilarious though because Evelyn was panicking about "the end", then George: I got a potato on sale yesterday from Pierre's for 120g! No fucks given.
On my blind 1.6 playthrough, I had *really* bad timing and bought a house upgrade before I checked the weather forecast. Robin was happily hammering away on my house during the green rain, despite her family saying she was paranoid about it.
I genuinely thought it was a tornado the first time it happened to me. For those who are unaware, the sky taking on a green hue is one of the warning signs of a tornado- I came to the natural conclusion!
The weather report the day before says something like there's an anomalous reading and they have no idea what it means, so that was an ominous warning of what was coming. And yeah apparently people only freak out the first year. Since it's not actually harmful they're more chill about it when it happens again.
I just got this event in year 4 and they're definitely all very normal about it. Vincent's dialogue was literally "Vincent is covered in moss" as he played outside without a care in the world. By the fourth year of this, I guess, they're all used to it lol
FINALLY, someone with the same reaction to it as me i swear everyone else just talks about it like "oh cool, weather event, a way to get a lot of resources, nice" meanwhile i went into the update completely blind, and when the rain happened, i legit thought for a moment that i found myself in one of those creepypasta stories about corrupted game versions and save files lol the creepiest part for me was that i decided to continue playing on my perfection save to save time and get to all the new stuff asap, meaning i was on year 3 or 4 at this point, and my NPCs barely reacted to the rain at all while i was freaking out
I had this on my new save after Break from stardew valley and I was like. WTF WHAT HAPPENING WHY GREEN RAIN and I was scared that this rain will make dmg or poison LOL
Fun fact, before this update i had a dream where Stardew valley actually became an apocaliptic nightmare survival game where you had to choose who to save
@@Autumn-fk4fo it included stat systems for each valley citizen, as we as like a time limit sort of start, you know it's going to happen prepare in normal Stardew until everything forever changes (it also included a cave filling with lava and an unspeakable horror
My Stardew Valley friends and I have taken to calling this weather event Monsoon. I think it fits the vibe, the green sky, the downpour, etc. I definitely wasn't expecting monsoons when I started my new 1.6 file, but I loved it
This is more terrifying than those horror mods for the game that like make people die and come back as tormented spirits. It's the subtle horror aspect of "something's going on, but we don't know what or if it's dangerous" that gives you an overwhelming sense of dread. This honestly would've been a perfect update for Halloween.
It's creepy because you nor no one else knows anything about it, but once you dig into it more the green rain actually turns out beneficial for wildlife and helps promote a healthy ecosystem which means it's good rain and everyone is only spooked by it because it's unknown.
i got the green rain recently and oh my god i was TERRIFIED. went straight to the wiser people in the town bc i was wondering what was going on and got the exact same dialogue as you, so i’ve got absolutely 0 answers. seriously though it is scary
Everyone was freaking out for me too. I started a whole new file the second the update dropped (You get a letter from Gus saying that the Saloon will be pen as a safe shelter the day before.)
he missed the letter saying peeps would be getting ready for the weird weather event the day before, and it's only like this year 1. afterward, everyone's like "aw cool, the green rain is back!"
Interesting note I noticed, after the green rain there are more trees at the bus stop, in the forest, and on the mountain. It also seems to grow trees much faster, though it seems to be random as I had seeds stay seeds and other tree seeds instantly became full grown.
I actually was pretty exited when I got the green rain in the first year (new game file). My very first thought when I saw all the plants was "YEEES!! It's like these algaes that can fall with the rain after heavy storms - they probably work as a form of strong fertilizer" and ran around town like a lunatic with my scythe, chopping and mowing away everything that looked like an unknown growth, whilst everyone else cowered inside buildings 😂💀
It’s more interesting if you check the weather report before it happens, it’ll be all weird and staticy, and you get a letter from Gus inviting everyone to stay in the saloon for shelter
I like the idea of strange weather occurring in this game and affecting the whole town. Each season should have it’s own strange ecosystem event like dense fog, harsh blizzards, or unusual creatures passing through stardew valley
I’m regards to the different dialogue, I wonder if it’s a difference of the first time the rain happens vs the rest of the time. I didn’t talk to anyone the first time I got the green rain, I was gathering as much moss as I could. But if they’ve already been through it and know it’s harmless it would make sense their attitude about it change

this event scared the crust outta me lmao i tried to avoid detailed spoilers and i dont usually check the weather report so i had no idea what was happening when i woke up to green rain and a panicking town some of the dialogues are genuinely haunting, i was freaking out
It’s kinda funny to see how everybody was panicking (including many players). Meanwhile I ran around chopping/scything everything because I got resource fever. Glad for the video, I got so caught up collecting stuff I forgot to see everybody’s dialogue, lol.
I started a new file for the update and read up on moss and the green rain before I started. When it finally came, I didn't even talk to anybody; I just spent the entire day gathering moss. Super worth it, imo; now I have more Deluxe Bait than I know what to do with, and I STILL have a couple hundred pieces!
I started a new save to play 1.6, and I also got it in the early summer and had no idea it was a thing. But it was sooo- cozy. Also you missed the fact that the lan service doesn’t work- the TV channels are broken the day before and the day of. The screen is green static it really adds to the atmosphere and the isolated feeling of the valley being empty. You get a letter in the mail of gus telling you he saw the weather yesterday and was letting anyone who needed it stay in the saloon. It really creates a sense of security, and the people who go makes sense. Haley and Emily live ‘alone’ with no parents, Pam and Penny only live in a trailer, everyone else there lives alone. Leah doesn’t have a mailbox ig? Same with Linus. Edit: I watched More and he did find the static TVs, but yh you did get a warning the day before bc the TVs are broken then
When the green rain happened to me, my whole reaction was "Oh, okay." and spent the whole day on my farm chopping trees. I had no idea that the townsfolk were freaking out- 😭😭
This weather event appeared my first day of 1.6 Needless to say I was spooked. I didn't even check the weather the day before. From a biological point of view, it's just a magic nature phenomenon. It seems to make plants grow seemingly overnight. If you pay attention and talk to all of them (I never did talk to the Wizard though-- or Alex and his fam) you'll know it's completely harmless. Some of the villagers freak out (ex. Pam) some know (ex. Lewis and Linus) some don't care (ex. Haley), and some are interested (ex. Demetrius, Vincent). Also, it's a great way to make bank by selling like 50 fiddlehead ferns. It's cool that some of them have dialogue for the day after. It's really not scary guys... I mean, not when you know it's just plants. But yeah, they know it's normal in layer years. I've only seen the year one dialogue because most of my Starred progress is on mobile but uh... Yeah. Btw, the cows are still out and about, you just came too late.
"How come nobody told me about this?!" Yeah, if only someone had sent you a letter the day before, in some kind of convenient box just outside your front door! Seriously though, looks like you had a blast exploring it without the heads up, so it works as a unique experience!
I want colored rain for every season now. I suggest: Purple Rain for Winter Pink Rain for Spring AND BLOOD RED RAIN FOR AUTUMN No yellow piss rain tho, I don’t want that.
I like how the Stardew Community is reacting to it like the villagers are. I've never heard of trees being uh "infected" with moss before. The real copypasta potential is the Dark Disc and that only the Dwarf and Penny like it.
It makes me so glad I decided to play a new file for the update rather than immediately continuing on my 17 year file. This shit was eerie and unsettling, and the fact that any villager not otherwise in the know (ie: Rasmo and Linus) responded in kind really added to the unnerving parts. I would have probably hated it if I was over here freaking out while Willy’s off on the deck like “ah, yes, another great year for them fish I see”
I found out by asking a friend that this is acctually a real natural Phenominon! it is when brightly coloured CCN (Condenced cloud neucli) Messes with the rain, changing its colour

@@coltonstewart8698 red rain happens when there is a lot of metal dust in the water, making the next rainfall the color of rust. It doesn't happen in specific places, just when for example glaciers with a lot of iron in them melt. So yeah, blood rain exists
Blood Moon is rising...
Rainbow rain
The events really cool and great for collecting fiber, moss, and wood and moss can be used with hard wood to make mushroom logs to grow mushrooms kinda shafting having a mushroom cave but really good for collecting the delicious mushes
It makes sense, if you can shaft the bat cave with fruit trees and foraging seeds you should be able to do the same with the mushroom cave
@@Shy_002 I've almost never picked the fruit cave because of the fruit trees now I have almost no reason to visit the cave and keep forgetting it exists lol
@@escapingourreality I stopped picking the mushroom cave ever since 1.5 since regardless of what cave you pick in the beginning, you end up with a mushroom cave on Ginger Island.
They added mushroom logs and I finally got to plant trees in the greenhouse(didn't know you could do that before) so now I just keep forgetting the cave exists.
tbqh as an ecology microbiologist, I, too, would be Demetrius in the weird goo rain I ain't blaming him
I felt so bad when Evelyn asked George if it was the end 😢😢😢
Giga George " Nah id win, this isn't as bad as the coal mines."
Kinda sad that you skipped days to get the green rain, but I understand why you did it. The game has a build up to it starting with the weather forecast the day prior and any TV channel at the day (both are simple but I found them quite creepy) and a letter from Gus saying that people will take shelter in the pub and that it will stay open all day instead of opening on its usual hours. I started a new save to play the update so I'm guessing the apocalypse dialogue only happens in year 1, which makes sense since afterwards people would know the rain is harmless.
I literally bought Stardew this week, so one of the first things that happen on summer was this and I was SO confused because I wasn't sure if this event happened thanks to the new update, because when i searched green rain in the internet there wasn't any post about this
Check the wiki it's been updated.
13:32 “I don’t even believe in science“
this is actually so cool xD I had no idea CA added this
right?? 😂 there's SO MUCH added!
I'm still in Spring in my new file though.
@@sourgreendolly7685 And the fact that you buy the game once and you never have to pay for any updates, no dlc, nothing like that again. He still keeps updating the game after many years.
11:17 "girl what's he gonna do, shoot the sky?"
cool to see someone quote the Kindergarten games
fun fact: if you go into Lewis' room and use a staircase, you are sent to a basement area with lots of barrels and stuff forming a maze. At the end of the maze are his purple shorts (I don't know for sure if you need to complete the quest for them to be there). Upon picking them up, another pair of the shorts will fly towards you, dealing damage whenever it touches you, until you either run out of hp or escape from where you came. Don't bother trying to fight the shorts, either, they take no damage
The first time I got this event I just wandered around, collected moss and laughed my ass off at demitrius' sick fit.
10/10 would green rain again
Omg I missed George's dialogue in my playthrough- It was hilarious though because Evelyn was panicking about "the end", then George: I got a potato on sale yesterday from Pierre's for 120g! No fucks given.
Pfft- 😂
On my blind 1.6 playthrough, I had *really* bad timing and bought a house upgrade before I checked the weather forecast. Robin was happily hammering away on my house during the green rain, despite her family saying she was paranoid about it.
I think this got patched cause I just did the same thing and I didn’t see Robin.
@@blurpleflowers555 Yeah, it was patched in the big update a few days ago.
I genuinely thought it was a tornado the first time it happened to me. For those who are unaware, the sky taking on a green hue is one of the warning signs of a tornado- I came to the natural conclusion!
That happened in my town a few weeks ago, it looked like fallout 3 out there
The weather report the day before says something like there's an anomalous reading and they have no idea what it means, so that was an ominous warning of what was coming.
FINALLY, someone with the same reaction to it as me
i swear everyone else just talks about it like "oh cool, weather event, a way to get a lot of resources, nice"
meanwhile i went into the update completely blind, and when the rain happened, i legit thought for a moment that i found myself in one of those creepypasta stories about corrupted game versions and save files lol
the creepiest part for me was that i decided to continue playing on my perfection save to save time and get to all the new stuff asap, meaning i was on year 3 or 4 at this point, and my NPCs barely reacted to the rain at all while i was freaking out
I had this on my new save after Break from stardew valley and I was like.
WTF WHAT HAPPENING WHY GREEN RAIN and I was scared that this rain will make dmg or poison LOL
Fun fact, before this update i had a dream where Stardew valley actually became an apocaliptic nightmare survival game where you had to choose who to save
Aw that’s sick
@@Autumn-fk4fo it included stat systems for each valley citizen, as we as like a time limit sort of start, you know it's going to happen prepare in normal Stardew until everything forever changes (it also included a cave filling with lava and an unspeakable horror

This event SCREAMS emergency management situation, and I am HERE FOR IT!
My Stardew Valley friends and I have taken to calling this weather event Monsoon. I think it fits the vibe, the green sky, the downpour, etc. I definitely wasn't expecting monsoons when I started my new 1.6 file, but I loved it
Mossoon, since you can get a TON of moss if you take advantage of the weeds and trees.
@@lesewingYou got to it first 😂 Mossoon
this feels like a fandom creepypasta you'd read online or hear in the schoolyard as a kid but nope it's real lmao
This is more terrifying than those horror mods for the game that like make people die and come back as tormented spirits. It's the subtle horror aspect of "something's going on, but we don't know what or if it's dangerous" that gives you an overwhelming sense of dread. This honestly would've been a perfect update for Halloween.
Nino got the cursed cartridge
George and Evelyn have me so on edge with all of this
It's creepy because you nor no one else knows anything about it, but once you dig into it more the green rain actually turns out beneficial for wildlife and helps promote a healthy ecosystem which means it's good rain and everyone is only spooked by it because it's unknown.
i got the green rain recently and oh my god i was TERRIFIED. went straight to the wiser people in the town bc i was wondering what was going on and got the exact same dialogue as you, so i’ve got absolutely 0 answers. seriously though it is scary
Witnessing Demetrius in that yellow suit in a haze of green fog made the 2 disheveled brain cells in my skull go ''ah, Waltuh.'
"How come nobody told me about this?"
If you watch the weather channel the day before this, they warn you for the acid rain.
They warn you about this. There's a weather report that's " hunh... something is happening tomorrow"
It’s more interesting if you check the weather report before it happens, it’ll be all weird and staticy, and you get a letter from Gus inviting everyone to stay in the saloon for shelter
the green rain is the day i will be hoarding fiber and clear cutting the valley for loot
Hits different after watching When the Wind Blows…
The country is at active war, it is a possibility!
I love how only one person was like "If you came here, it must be safe" and rest is like freakinf out even if farmer just like go out tovisit saloon 😂
12:14 Shane is every retail employee's reaction imo lol, such a mood
I like the idea of strange weather occurring in this game and affecting the whole town. Each season should have it’s own strange ecosystem event like dense fog, harsh blizzards, or unusual creatures passing through stardew valley
12:14 he is winning the idgaf war
I’m regards to the different dialogue, I wonder if it’s a difference of the first time the rain happens vs the rest of the time. I didn’t talk to anyone the first time I got the green rain, I was gathering as much moss as I could. But if they’ve already been through it and know it’s harmless it would make sense their attitude about it change
Around 7:20 i think it's bc Salmence didn't start a new game, and they got the year 2 onwards dialogue
i genuinely LOVED the green rain it was so cool to me and i was going crazy over the amount of moss i got hehe but the big fiddlehead fern trees made me feel a little nauseous cuz they reminded me of uzumaki by junji ito 😬
oooh they're gonna make me think of that now too. adds to the creepy vibes a LOT. that book has permanently affected the vibe of spirals
I can never get fiddlehead fern. Even going to the secret woods daily. So I have that to look forward to whenever 1.6 comes to console.
Yes! My first reaction to the new plant life was "The spiral..."
I can't believe they changed the weather! I'm just here to drink mayo.... actually, I'm still waiting for it to go to switch😢
Love that Sebastian just chills in the basement the whole time
I love how after the green rain, Linus just KNEW if we were harvesting a lot of moss from the bounty.
2:50 Awww Haley wasn't even worried, she was just thinking about the saloon and she was right at the end the rain wasn't anything bad
She's so cute, I love her
this event scared the crust outta me lmao
i tried to avoid detailed spoilers and i dont usually check the weather report so i had no idea what was happening when i woke up to green rain and a panicking town
some of the dialogues are genuinely haunting, i was freaking out
It’s kinda funny to see how everybody was panicking (including many players). Meanwhile I ran around chopping/scything everything because I got resource fever.
Glad for the video, I got so caught up collecting stuff I forgot to see everybody’s dialogue, lol.
This guy: horrified, scared by the green rain
Me: running around like its a normal day
linus fed up with the pollution
The whole feeling of George and Evelyn during the green rain reminds me of when the wind blows
I've been exploring 1.6 on my Yr5 save and yeah the townsfolk were vibing with the green rain! I had no idea the dialogue was different in year 1!
Something to know: The npc are only at the current places of the green rain once, after they handle it like regular rain
During the first time this event happened in my new farm for 1.6 i got the Shane passed out cutscene, was way more drammatic
Edit: I watched More and he did find the static TVs, but yh you did get a warning the day before bc the TVs are broken then
The tv being static is a great touch. CA being a good storyteller as always
I got so preoccupied with collecting moss and chopping the new trees that I straight up forgot to talk to anyone fjdhdjdh
"a little warning would be nice"
The weather forecast and gus sending a letter in the mail: 🗿
The villagers:
“WERE ALL GONNA DIE ITS NOT SAFE OMG AAAAA”
The Farmer:
bursts in
*WHATS UP MUTHA FUCKAAAAS I GOT SOME MOSS*
"why did nobody tell me about this"
you slept through it
When the green rain happened to me, my whole reaction was "Oh, okay." and spent the whole day on my farm chopping trees. I had no idea that the townsfolk were freaking out- 😭😭
This weather event appeared my first day of 1.6
Needless to say I was spooked.
"How come nobody told me about this?!"
Yeah, if only someone had sent you a letter the day before, in some kind of convenient box just outside your front door!
Seriously though, looks like you had a blast exploring it without the heads up, so it works as a unique experience!
I want colored rain for every season now.
I suggest:
Purple Rain for Winter
Pink Rain for Spring
AND BLOOD RED RAIN FOR AUTUMN
No yellow piss rain tho, I don’t want that.
But i love piss rain :(
The world is just Yoba’s toilet
Manifestating fish rain update (it happened in real life, look it up)
I like how the Stardew Community is reacting to it like the villagers are. I've never heard of trees being uh "infected" with moss before.
The real copypasta potential is the Dark Disc and that only the Dwarf and Penny like it.
9:35 IM SO IN LOVE WITH ALEX LORD HES SO SWEEETTT And George caring for Evelyn my heart is going to BURSTTT
You clearly didn't check the mail. Gus has sent a letter that says he's keeping the saloon open in case people don't want to be alone.
It makes me so glad I decided to play a new file for the update rather than immediately continuing on my 17 year file. This shit was eerie and unsettling, and the fact that any villager not otherwise in the know (ie: Rasmo and Linus) responded in kind really added to the unnerving parts. I would have probably hated it if I was over here freaking out while Willy’s off on the deck like “ah, yes, another great year for them fish I see”
Gus is the goat, making sure that everyone has shelter.
I found out by asking a friend that this is acctually a real natural Phenominon! it is when brightly coloured CCN (Condenced cloud neucli) Messes with the rain, changing its colour
Sal pulling a damn kindergarten reference outta nowhere
The Wizard said it was perfectly natural and that nature would be ok. I trust the wizard.
'Think about your... tent' I am crying laughing

I saw the notification for green rain in my game, tried to watch the new episode of Queen of Sauce, got scared my TV was broken because of the green static, checked on my animals, read the mail (Gus keeping his saloon open all day), went to check in on Leah, George, & Evelyn, and everyone in the saloon, collected some moss, then went back to the farm to sleep. I was too scared to do anything else.
I was so creeped out by the green rain and I hardly saw anyone else talking about it! Its cool but also incredibly errie. The villagers don't even talk about it the day after the event. Im incredibly intrigued by this weather addition :O
