I once made a save just to go through group 10-heart events, so I saw all 10-heart events from all of the bachelors and was a huge moron in every of it. Than I got to Alex's 10 heart cutscene, my favorite boy in the game, clicked second option rejecting him AND THE GUY STARTED TREMBELING OMG. I was crushed together with him thinking «no-no-no, I'm so sorry», that was the worst thing I ever did in this game. Except divorcing Sebastian and kicking him back in his basement lol.

About the pictures on Alex's wall. I've had some talks with a few psychology friends of mine, about the difference between desirable and empathetic. A person could theoretically enjoy art of someone of their own gender, as they desire to be that person, instead of being with that person.

Ok, so, my current runthrough of Stardew Valley I was on the fence when selecting the gender, kept toggling back and forth between male and female then decided "its fine, I'll just fix it when I made a decision." I ended up making a male farmer, but forgot to select the gender of the male farmer, so I spent some time as the female farmer before I could befriend the wizard enough to unlock the Gender Affirming Basement. I have to tell you buddy, it is a round way TRIP interacting with Alex early game as a female farmer than later as a male farmer, especially when the first heart event after the switch was the one where he apologizes for his behavior towards you.
I’ve done a lot of combing through events and conditions because I like making them for mods and seeing where they break so I can make a patch or create an alternate version, but that’s the most whiplash you can probably get. Especially early on.

It even comes full circle about his past, with his dad being a verbally abusive deadbeat and his mom being a victim of abuse and even potentially hinted in the letter addressed to Evelyn that she committed suicide upon his father's departure. The fact that in marriage, he willingly gives up his dream just to be a househusband to spend time with you and eventually the children (if you decide to at least) you would have with him. He presents this in a quote "I finally have the family life I couldn't have when I was a kid. Thank you." Showing that he is genuinely at his happiest and that he is inherited his mother's nurturing. His character arc made me attached to him, and this started from his four heart scene. I always viewed him as this himbo sporty jock friend that was dense and arrogant but is supportive of people's interest albeit he does lack a bit of an open mind to certain things such as Sebastian's choice of clothing. But overall, I love Alex. And imma be honest, seeing you abuse him with eggs and eventually a divorce kinda made me messed up-
