Fun note: if you get Harvey to high enough hearts, he WILL actually come on to you. I was on a save married to someone else and the first thing Harvey said to me when I spoke to him was something along the lines of "I want our relationship to be more than doctor and patient." So at a point, he STOPS being shy!

I am a doctor IRL and that "more than a doctor and patient" line is extremely unsettling. You do NOT date your own patients, and if you do that means the doctor-patient relationship end immediately
I assume the line supposed to be cute and romantic but it is absolutely against doctor's ethics. He should've said "more than friends" or something in that direction, leave his profession out of it altogether. Using your doctor status as a pickup line is pretty much the same as a teacher using their status to come on to a student, or a boss to their employee

Maybe it’s because my mom and her doctor have been high-key flirting for the past 20 years. He makes unprofessional comments about her body, and she’s even said that they’ve talked about dating several times in the past. She likes him, but I think he’s arrogant and chauvinistic.
So, as sweet as Harvey is, having him mention the doctor-patient relationship really repulses me. To be fair, I guess a lot of people have doctor roleplay as a kink, so maybe the line is just for fan service.
Harvey was the first character I married when I played Stardew for the first time, he just seemed the most genuine and nice out of all of them at the time. Now I struggle to marry anyone else because my expectations are so high after Harvey.

I'm glad to finally see some Harvey appreciation. He is such a fun spouse and one of the few that get a complete character arc after marrying the farmer.
Harvey is my second pick (only just slightly behind Shane). One of the things I love most about him is that, as opposed to literally every other bachelor, it feels like you’re marrying a sweet, responsible adult. Like, he’s a doctor, he’s mature, he’s not emo or pretentious, he doesn’t have any life destroying habits. He’s the most stable while still having this own faults and demons to fight.
and why would shane be the first option? I don't understand women's fixation on a guy with addictions who still lives with his aunt, I don't want to cure anyone

And on a not personal note I also just think the sprite where he's holding Charlie is super fun and when you marry him you get to see it pretty often lol. I can see why a lot of ppl wouldn't choose him but I can also see why people would at the same time
@@leticiamv everyone has this addiction to saying that the people who marry him are female "i want to fix him" uwu cutsie pushovers and its just a really tired point. he has a good and fleshed-out story, is very sweet once you pass 4 hearts with him, and before theres the thing of "well hes an asshole first" so is half the town. He's clearly struggling mentally which @ Atlass brought up in their comment which yea there are probably some "i can fix him" people out there but for a lot of others the idea that he would just get it when you're struggling is a comforting thought

I’ve never felt the vibe to marry Harvey, so I’m really grateful to see Nino tackle his story! Most of his heart scenes are still a bit all right for my taste, but his regular dialogue is incredible! There is so much more depth to him than I thought.

I'm in the process of marrying Harvey in my multiplayer save with my friends, and every day I feel more and more that he's the perfect man.
Exactly. Things that are a few little silly things (needing time to himself, going off for walks , reading books) but I think they are NICE. Shows Harvey is a caring human. You can then go do whatever you need. And every evening, he is there, waiting for you. And no leftover microwave pizza. He even sometimes helps out around the farm, and keeps his day job.

@@MM-jf1me I have a save where I'm married to Harvey and I have 8 hearts with all townsfolk/bachelor(ettes). I Gifted them loved gifts and he never gave me this jelous response. Also, read somewhere else this happend to someone else qhen they gifted Sam or Alex, where they theorized it's because it's in a public space. Can't link it here, but it was a reddit post. So... Maybe Harvey is jelous of your relationship with Alex..? I'm not sure, I gifted him as well during the loved gifting, but I didn't got this response from Harvey.

When I started Stardew I went straight for Harvey, honestly just because I'm not too into the women and most of the men didn't interest me. Yeah I watched these to videos back to back and the double standard is real
Part of it might be that in the scene with Harvey you can actually see the farmer move into the j=kiss, but with Elliot it has the Farmer shaking. Also most people can swim, so pushing Elliot out of the boat won't work, but shoving Harvey will. I also suppose it might be the context in which occurs, because Harvey opens up through going on a very difficult balloon ride for him. Now, I did not really have a problem with Elliot's scene as if I was to do it with my character it would be romantic, but the reaction of the farmer in game between the two scenes probably throws people off. Sorry for the long read.
@@nyx12268 I do see your point, but it does also work the other way. Being in sea would make it easier to leave yourself, while being in a hot air balloon makes it impossible to leave if you don't feel comfortable around Harvey. I think that the whole problem is just the fact that you can tell Elliot you don't feel okay with it, while I believe it doesn't ever happen with another candidate 🤔
