Maybe it was a murder-suicide with the Wizard, Pierre, and Caroline. Pierre is near the tower, Caroline is in the tower, and the Wizard seemed very much placed there on the train tracks.

I have a theory and it kinda fits this. Caroline came in to talk with him and the conversation took a turn to Abby so he killed her in rage. Then Pierre came in looking for Caroline and seeing her body was so distraught he ran away... Right off the edge of a cliff. In his panic he could've just been running and not cared to notice where to or maybe the wizard was chasing him. Then he killed the others ending in the death of himself. Abby seems like a caving accident but it could've been intentional murder from someone who knows she explores the caves since she was above ground. Oh and Leah, jas and Vincent all seem to be very personal killings. Just my theory

I think it's because he's the most in tune with his thoughts/nature and that allowed him to open a third (and fourth) eye
My theory: The Wizard confronted Caroline about Abigail being his daughter, and in a fit of rage or insanity, he killed her. He then went on the hunt for Abigail. Pierre found his wife's dead body, (or perhaps witnessed her murder), and, overcome by grief, threw himself off the cliff near the wizard's tower. At the time, and unaware of the deaths of her parents, Abigail was in the mines bartering with the dwarf for some amethyst or something. Unfortunately, this is where the wizard found her. She freaked out when he revealed he was her father. There was a struggle, and he accidentally killed her, (or he was still in that fit of insanity and killed her because she didn't accept him as her father). When he realized what he'd done, he threw himself onto the train tracks to end his own torment. With the wizard gone, the town became overrun with evil spirits and/or demons. These beings killed Alex, Leah, Elliot, Jas, Vince, and possibly Kent, (possibly more, he didn't find all the bodies and I haven't played this mod nor have I seen anyone else play it). Desperate, the remaining townsfolk sacrificed Emily to Yoba in an attempt to rid their town of these horrible deadly beings. Haley and Clint tried to stop them, but couldn't. Unable to handle Emily's death, both Haley and Clint killed themselves, Haley by drowning in her favorite spot and Clint by hanging in the grove behind his forge. Driven mad by the horrors inflicting her town, (and possibly her mother's death), Penny went to the bathhouse to relax herself in the warm waters before allowing herself to drift off to sleep, effectively drowning herself. Willy just decided he'd rather allow the ocean to take him than to see all the horrible deaths of his fellow townsfolk , (perhaps he witnessed Elliot's death), so he stepped into the ocean and let the waves sweep him away from the land, leaving behind only his hat as proof he ever existed. The sacrifice unfortunately didn't work, and what was left of the townsfolk was slowly picked off one by one by the demons inhabiting the town. After all the living souls were long gone, the evil beings finally decided there was no longer need for them to be here, and they all left the town.
Not long after, the heir(s) to the old farmer's land arrived by bus, ready to start a new life in the countryside. Upon meeting the Mayor, who happened to be a ghost, they were shocked to discover everyone was dead. They met all the ghosts of the formerly living residents of Pelican Town, and slowly discovered their decaying bodies as well. Over time, they grew accustomed to being surrounded by the dead, as there was no way for these poor souls to pass on due to the traumatic and unnatural manner of their deaths. And thus, the farmer(s) now lives in a literal ghost town, surrounded by the unrestful spirits of the former townsfolk.
In an alternate version, and probably more likely, these evil spirits drove everyone insane, and everyone killed each other instead. Possibly, Emily was sacrificed by a few of the only people left who were sane (somewhat) in an attempt to get the minds of their loved ones back. Or she was sacrificed by the crazy ones because why not and Haley and Clint either still loved her through the insanity or were sane at the time and had been unable to stop the crazy ones from killing Emily. In this version, Willy killed Elliot before he was able to pull himself back to sanity. Realizing what he'd done, he allowed the current to take him further into the ocean, the only place he ever felt solace, and the only place he believed could release him from the guilt of killing his friend.

@@NinoKito 😂 Thank you! I just had to channel my inner novelist again because it's been a hot sec since I've been able to write something so detailed and story- or lore-driven. I want to get this mod now so I can find all the bodies and try to figure out more of what happened. A silly little ghost mod I can see not having any lore. But putting their bodies around town with such specific deaths? There's gotta be something going on. This is just my working theory for now until I've seen everything.

I know that Linus' body is in the sewers, Lewis is in his garden, Pam is in her trashcan, you can see George's wheelchair in the river by the bridge to the beach, Gus is in one of the hospital beds, and Shane is in the freezer at Joja mart. Idk where Marnie or any others I may have missed are though.
I will never forgive the creator of the ghost town mod for feeding Alex to his dog.

ok so, imagine a new farmer comes to the valley you grew up in. after weeks of staying at his grandfathers old farm, he comes running at you full sprint with what looks to be your own head. he then comes to a halt right in front of you and say's "i grew a plant to look just like you. i hope you like it" and then sprints away giggling manically! xD

I think that Abby went out to the mines and was probably killed by one of the monsters, which lead Pierre and Caroline to look for her. After her body was found, Pierre found out that he isn’t her biological father, and went to confront the Wizard. Caroline chasing after him, knowing Pierre’s aggressive tendencies and the fact that Abby is dead. Pierre goes to kill the Wizard in his house, but when Caroline runs up to stop him, Pierre moves out of the way and Caroline trips, hitting her head on the fireplace, dying from blunt force trauma. Pierre now blaming himself for his wife’s death, runs out of the house, wizard following behind to try and figure out what’s going on. Pierre sees the cliff in front of the tower, and takes his own life. The word gets out about the family’s death, and since the only witness is the wizard, everyone blames him, Emily being one of the only people in his defense, and mass hysteria ensues. After many deaths, the wizard is finally captured and tied up on the train tracks. Emily still protests, but is labeled as a witch and sacrificed. More and more people are killed and blamed on witches, Marnie gets to her breaking point, killing Jazz and Shane, Lewis blames their deaths on another “witch” and the same happens with the deaths of Hailey and Vincent. Eventually it’s just a few members of the town left, until the final death, being Clint, hanging himself on a tree behind his house, all of his family, friends, and loved ones are gone, and he’s just left with himself in a dead town.
"goth girl farm" reminded me of Tomie, by Junji Ito (the bit where the vendor was selling [meatballs] to grow a "beautiful daughter in your garden")

It might be cool if the ghost valley thing would have a story where you investigate what happened and kill the murder and the town folks thank you and get to 'heaven'

I think on Sundays she has special dialogue like 'may Yoba bless you on this holy day' or something, and her portrait is her holding a Yoba symbol

Emily is actually very religious. She purifies gifts and your child, at a horror movie she orays for protection and she goes to pray at the shrine.
Kent with no eyes just looks like a pissed jojo character
Not attending the undead flower dance seems like a missed opportunity.
emily would actually be one of the most religious out of the townsfolk, if you take her to a movie she dislikes she'll pull out her cross(?) and say "Yoba, please protect me from the dark energy of this movie." if you're married to her (and have neutral hearts, though im not entirely sure), and speak to her on summer 2, she will say "May Yoba bless you on this lovely day.". maybe the spiritual stuff is actually regular practice for religion in stardew vallley, but i'm not too sure.
I'm pretty sure Caroline is the wizard's daughter. Abigail had Brown hair like Pierre before she dyed it and it stayed purple thanks to his magic traits skipping a generation.
Or it's ntr and Caroline cheated with the wizard at one point
Well, Caroline went to the tower area for the first few months after they moved in, Abby was roughly a year later, after they moved in.

well ghost town would be more disturbing if one of them would be alive. Imagine Caroline being only one alive, and all the bodies either hidden somewhere, like Haley in fountain, and you need some angle to see it, or in her "garden" and when you leave you have a cutscene with her asking what you did in kitchen, or all her line changed to how you like her "garden".
emily isn’t non-yoba non-religious, she has a portrait where she has the symbol of yoba
Yeah I love Stardew Valley’s wholesomeness but every time I hear the autumn farm music I think ‘where are all the ghosts haunting the farmhouse? Where’s the tragic backstory, where’s the macabre? :(.

So I have a theory, that Clint confessed to Emily and she rejected him. which broke Clints heart, so he decided to just hang himself because there wasn't any point in living.

@@NinoKito some of the bodies are in joja mart, but you need to install it before the cinema for that to work (hence why it was glitching). it works even after it goes bankrupt, you can just enter it and instead of the abandoned interior you get the usual active joja mart one
In that mod, Seb's room is full of garlic. The garlic killed Sebastian. He was a vampire.
@@goodusername89 Actually that was just Mumps/DF putting those there. There's another video of the mod without the garlic all over.
Maybe some of the bodies are in the community center, the desert, or at events (i doubt Ginger Island since the mod came out before 1.5)

i've already seen this mod so i wasn't terrified but, as he talked about the corpses, sorta spooked me
my theory for the ghost mod: Caroline finally admitted to Rasmodius about the Abigail situation so he killed Caroline, scared Pierre would find out because of how open Caroline was. Pierre was the person that placed the Wizard and killed himself afterwards. It doesn't explain the others but oh well 🤷♂

When the train went over the wizards body, I thought I saw the body's mouth get longer like the wizard was screaming and it really freaked me out 😅
Personally I think Wizard’s ex wife found out about Abigail and in a fit of envy wanted to make sure Wizard would stay sad. She had to be sealed away for a reason in the first place. My guess is she found out about Abigail so found Caroline and brought her to Wizards. That’s why she’s found there. Then Pierre comes looking for his wife and the Witch pushes him off the near mountain. She then terrorizes the town some people she just offs others she stops and tortures for information which is why some of the bodies are really messed up. Emily is sacrificed due to her good nature for dark magic reasons. Clint manages to initially fight her off but after the massacre he offs himself. Finally she makes it to the mine where they sword fight and Abigail loses. Feeling a little dramatic about the whole thing the Witch revives everyone as a ghost. But still feeling petty she puts Wizard on the tracks by her house for amusement.
Everyone is saying that the wizard did it or something... but I think that it was Morris. He was angry that the Joja mart was driven out of town and because of that he got fired and became homeless. he got a divorce with his wife and she got custody of his three children and only way he could survive was by digging through that trash for scraps just like Linus. And it was all because of pelican town. And so, with his resentment and rage against pelican town he decided to get his revenge. >:)
I also think I saw one of the people's stuffted in the oven by the green tea room 😊

Quick correction, Emily is in fact religious. She has one single piece of yoba dialogue in marriage (that I've come across so far at least, seems pretty rare)

My theory is that Abby died in the mines and dwarf found her but didn't know what to do, Caroline didn't know what was happening and didn't want to talk to Pierre so she went to the wizard instead. Pierre found out she went there and was maybe waiting for the wizard and so he killed her and left a note. After the wizard came back he followed the note and got drugged by Pierre who tied him down to the train tracks and then ended himself at the cliff

My theory is that the whole town went crazy so they all stared killing each other and commenting suicide. LOL
