So just an fyi “blood games” are essentially mock battles held by the Custodes inside the palace. One team tries to infiltrate the place and the other defends it.
Alpharius invented them too.

The old guys are the High-lords of Terra, they are basically the people who overlook EVERYTHING in whatever they control, From left to right, we have the High-lord of the Adeptus Arbites (The law and police), The High-lord Astra Militarum (The Military), High-lord of the Administratum (The Scribes who work on papers and papers of laws, taxes, and any other common stuff), High-lord of the Adeptus Mechanicus (The ones who make all the tech and weapons for the Imperium).
There are also a few others that we don't get to see, since there are 12 major high-lords in total.
The Inquisitorial Representative and the Ecclesiarch also count as high-lords.
I'm also not sure if I got the 3rd high-lord right, but I know he's more on writing-focused side unlike the other high-lords.

There are also I believe the high lord of the assassins and the high lord of the navy (space ships)
@@crimsonknight7011 You are correct, there are plenty of high-lords, each for every Imperial sub-faction, like the Navy and the Assassinorum as you said.
The issue with the high lords is that they all desire more power, influence, and resources for their group. Sadly many people die because of these desires to do what benefits them and their power, rather than what is good for the imperium and it’s people.
When Guilliman (super papa Smurf) returned some of the high lords plotted to have him assassinated simply because he was a threat to them continuing to be in control of everything. Unfortunately they thought the assassinorium was on their side when in fact they were on Guillimans and when they tried to have him killed they instead were killed for their treachery

Although worship of the emperor is sincere you gotta remember that the High Lords and the Inquisitor enjoy quite a bit of power from the death and worship of the Emperor and even if they knew better than to stop they wouldn't give up that power so easily. Human nature really. It's why even though Roboute Guilliman has been back for quite a bit he hasn't tried to necessarily dismantle it or dissuade it. It's not the time for sweeping reform to the Imperium as Chaos, the Tyrannids and Necrons are all taking swings at humanity and the Imperium is chopped in half atm. He just kinda has to deal with it and even when he took control and tried to wrangle the Imperium many of the upper echelon defied him because they are used to the status quo and he kinda had to swing his dick around and clean up the bureaucracy and corruption at the heart of it all. That's why the Lords aren't complying just because someone said the Emperor is back, bureaucracy and corruption.
The interesting thing about Games Workshop is they clearly hit Text to Speech with the Cease and Desist, BECAUSE Robot Girlyman was coming back and the whole "Emperor/his sons looking at what the Imperium has become after the heresy and contemplating suicide as a result" idea was something they personally want to pursue.
This all makes a ton of sense. No one gives up power without a fight
Given the reaction Reboot Gilligan had at looking at what a fustercluck it has become, that sounds VERY plausible.

As an small explenation. The old guys are the Imperial Senat, who are ruling the Imperium in the Emperors name. Them being old, idiotic, slow and a lot of the time senseless is amongst other things a good comedic depiction of the "real" imperial bureaucracy. It is slow, old, often enough idiotic and makes from time to time no sense. There are whole offices whos actual task is no longer needed, which goes unnoticed and so the offices continue to exist for hundreds of years and longer. A world can be destroyed by an enemy and through the slow workings of the bureaucracy maybe 50 or 200 years can go by before the report even ends up on the desk of someone who can actually do something about it.
Or a planet could be forgotten because someone filed it under F instead of G. Or a menial dropped the papers and it slipped under a file cabinet to be forgotten for the next 2000 years or so

When the Imperial ships go from place to place they don’t use light speed. What they do is more like rip a tear in reality and travel thru the warp to then tear out of it at the destination. The Gellar Field is essentially like a physic bubble shield that protects the ship while traveling they the warp and prevents chaos daemons from invading the ship. Basically if you were to do this with those off you would essentially have your ships being over run with daemons during your trip.
I recommend Templin Institute for a catch-up on factions places and characters

I'm new to your channel, so I don't know if it's been suggested, but you'd probably get a kick out of most of Arbitor Ian's content. It's a little more straight faced, but not in a grimdark way because he's really switched onto the satire of the setting and it's history. He's got good summaries of a few campaigns, has a set of "all the factions in X minutes" videos, and discusses some of the real-world influences it draws on. Definitely worth a look.

I know this is a parody-thing but if there is any serious thought about the Custodies just being in the palace and on Terra, I do not understand it... I mean cannot daemons and other threats just come from nowhere through wormholes at any given moment? And if they get to the Emperor they doom humanity, so the Custodies are kiiind of needed to be there...???
