The fact that we have Wolverine, the Wasp, and the Falcon all in one movie is awesome. This is a great movie, even though I'm still salty about the way it ended.
Fun fact: Hugh Jackman wanted to do a sequel for this movie, but unfortunately at the time his schedule was too busy with all the other movies he was doing.
@@Jaycheong95Nope... Total lies. The sequel wasn't planned because the movie didn't make as much as they wanted to. When it was eventually planned, the idea of the sequel was cancelled before it ever got to see the light of day
Seriously. I always thought he was quite precocious, especially considering he talked *down* to Hugh Jackman in the movie. That moment when he scolds Charlie for wanting to sell Atom really shows his acting chops.
Jaby said it; this movie came out when robot movies were saturating the market. Transformers, Pacific Rim and others. But for me, Real Steel was the sleeper. I think because of the relationships and the acting. Watching a father meet and eventually bond with the son he didn’t know he had. Rekindling the flame with a former gf. And that kid with the bot that saved his life. For a robot movie, this one was very HUMAN. Great reaction, as usual. You guys were as engrossed in this movie as I was when I first saw it. Awesome!
I remember feeling the same exact way in the theater when I first saw it. I was so engrossed during the entire movie. I just thought it was another robot movie before going in. I cried a couple times watching it, it gave me all the feels.❤😂😮😊
This movie is the epitome of a cliche, and I love it. It doesn't try to be anything else, it just embraces that fact, and pulls off every cliche extremely well. There's something nice about a movie that knows what it is and doesn't try to reinvent the wheel.

This was such a sleeper movie. My son wanted to see it. I'm like, Wolverine and robots?--sounds like a fun afternoon! Two hours later we had just a fun and extremely emotional, father/son experience together. It was great! This movie holds a special place in my heart.
Absolutley love how reactors get so invested in Real Steel when they watch. It’s such a fantastic film when it comes to immersion and how it gets you rooting like you’re actually watching real boxing
It's always been a wildly underrated film. Such a simple story but executed to perfection. It holds up amazingly well and so glad its starting to get the recognition it deserves.
The robots were a combination of practical and CGI. Practical when they are just standing in the BG and CGI during the fighting. That’s why the VFX was so good, they had live lighting references for the robots.
It's so nice to see reactors giving this film a secind wind because the actor that played the kid put in such an impressive performance. Give the young fella his flowers!!
I watched this movie when it came out. And i loved it so much that i have watched it many times since then. I was a little disappointed that not many people knew about it. This movie deserved so much.
This is one of my favorite underrated movies that no one really talks about. It's exciting, emotional and heartfelt. Great reaction you guys! Seemed like you guys were into it!
If I remember correctly, this movie was set in early 2020's which is wild that we are in 2024 and nowhere close to it, as Jaby said the closest thing we have is drone racing, damn
effects are good because they are making a robot look like a robot, and it feels real, they aren't forcing the robot to be human like, or anything that would make it not normal
ugh, so happy you guys reacted to this movie! when it came out i was 16 and went to the cinema THREE times (and teared up all 3 times)...mostly because i was in love with Hugh Jackman hahaha, but i truly think the movie is great! now it's my comfort/feel good film.
My favorite moment of this reaction/film is around 37:57 - it's a call back to the line "I wanted you to fight for me" and it's translated into Charlie LITERALLY fighting for/on behalf of Jack through Atom. It's a beautiful character beat and a great illustration of Charlie's unwillingness to be a father - guard up, protecting himself - then moving towards a place of acceptance by way of choosing to be more, choosing to Fight for his son. I love this movie so much 🫶

I didn't know this movie was a failure on release, I loved it and still love it❤...this time period was the peak of vfx in Hollywood..still looks better than many modern blockbusters.
The Rocky films were the only boxing movies to bring a lump in my throat until I saw this! Talk about having OVER THE TOP part 2 decades later haha. Definitely reminds me of that movie but with robots. Loved it from when it first came out and still continue to throw this movie on time to time. Awesome watch guys
A great and highly underrated movie. Very entertaining and engaging and I am glad you enjoyed it so much too! For a little context, it is difficult to win a championship by decision, and Zeus did control and/or dominate most of the fight, putting Atom on the mat several times, so Zeus winning the decision was pretty much a given.
Hey Jaby and Kristen, it is good to see you guys again. I hope the two of you enjoy watching this movie, it is an awesome movie. I've watched it before and it's pretty 😎. Take care and stay safe. 👍
This movie is such a gem and sits with Hook and A Knight's Tale for me in terms of comfort movies with father son elements in it. I miss my late father and these movies hit.
The making of Real Steel pioneered a lot of modern digital filmmaking practices. It helped them overlay the robots over real boxers and they shot it in an all-digital space so they could move and interact with the shots in a more cinematic way and make edits easier. The BTS is a cool watch.

I loved this film so much. There are no original stories left, it is all about how well you can write it and how well the actors can sell it. Of course the entire production plays a part, but so many movies fail because they don't care about the writing, they just want to make whatever money they can off it.
