i think i just kinda sat at my PC for about 2 minutes with my jaw on the floor after i watched this during my playthrough. not expecting THAT to happen.
we've never seen a dead dead angel before i think. i think in lore, there NEVER was a REAL dead angel before. still love this cinematic, since it's the conclusion of everything since diablo1 started. the world was created by Lilith and Inarius. while HE hated it, she loved it like a mother and rightfully claims his soul to hell. ask any priest you could find: if you were to procreate with a demon, what could you do for redemption? nothing. if that procreation is a WHOLE world? even more nothing.
Inarius didn't hate Sanctuary. If he'd wanted to destroy it, he had a lot of time to do so when he was the sole controller of the worldstone. He could have killed lilith the last time they fought, but banished her instead because he loved her. A lot of what we see from Inarius is the result of thousands of years of torture at the hand of Mephisto, who very specifically broke Inarius so that he could be a pawn in Mephisti's plan to kill lilith. At this point, the shell prancing around calling itself 'Inarius' has less in common with the original than a human has with a nephalem. Technically the same, but infinitely lesser.
no inarius never died, he is trapped there, corrupted, the angels reborn when they die so no, he is not dead, but, above all, i cannot believe an immortal being would act this way, he is way to inmature, he has all the eternity and why would he have a crisis just in front of the biggest enemy? come on! thats so stupid.
The dead angels angelic energy is taken by heaven and a new angel is born. Inarius is permanently dead according to Diablo lore. Only the greater evils can reconstitute themselves.
@@treasurrhunterr So technically no. Tyrael died upon destroying the Worldstone and Arreat at the end of LoD. His spirt slowly reformed at the crystal spire and he was reborn. Thats why there are 20 years in between LoD and Diablo 3 when the heavens take away his status as an archangel. That being said, he was a very rare case. Most dont come back. Inarius could technically return, but we'd have to see.
Well actually Inarius was dozens of times stronger than Lilith at this time (not to mention Imperius himself, or going further - being on par even with the Prime Evil Diablo itself from Diablo 3). She just took him off guard while he was so desperate about figuring out why he's not the chosen one and the wielder of prophecy which didnt't include him within it to take her down (according to the Rhatma's Prophecy which he misread/got wrong). He got power up from having some time with the World Stone what was the main reason he became the strongest single entity/being ever existed in Diablo series. But his desire of returning Heavens/redeeming his sins/gaining Angiris's tribute/recognition pushed him to the absurdity and maniacal mental state/mental issues that clouded his mind to this point he no longer distinguished between good and evil, seeing just his own needs and goals, according to the rule: "over the dead to the goal". His blindness was his undoing.
Moreover, "a spear of light will pierce the heart of hatred" can be interpreted precisely as it was in the cinematic. Lilith pierced with a spear of light Inarius, who was blinded by hatred for Lilith and everything associated with her (including humans)
None of the greater evils in this are in their prime... even Andarial isn't... as for Imperius or the One Prime Evil... nah they would mop the floor with him. Inarius is powerful being an Arch Angel but he should be about the power level of maybe the lower lesser evils and yes Lilith though unlike him Lilith is no warrior so would lose in a fight
Inarius wasn't stronger than Lilith. He was a Archangel, yes, but not of the Angiris Council. Lilith is the Daughter of a Greater Evil. Also he was severely weakened because of Eons tortured in Hell, he was mentally broken and the power up you speak of was gone the Moment he was cast into Hell otherwise he would've had zero problem breaking out of Mephisto's imprisonment.
Inarius is not stronger than Lilith at this time. His connection to the worldstone was severed now that the worldstone is destroyed. The worldstone didn't permanently buff him. He just tied himself to it so he could wield its power. With it gone, he's back to his normal angelic might.
i honestly think the angels are far worse than the demons in diablo. they act all high and mighty but never ever come to sanctuary's aid when diablo and his brothers or lilith invade and even voted to extinct the humans rather than helping them. lwith the demons you know what you're getting but outside of tyrael the angel's inaction is just as bad as what diablo does.
Cause he like many other angels were Fed up of the Eternal conflict and lilith was tried of the Prime evils, offered Inarius a choice to ally with her to create sanctuary.
@@raphaels33 He is not an angle anymore. That is why Heaven has nothing to do with him anymore. He is tainted with evil. The prophecy was written about that about him.

Inarius thought killing Lilith would allow him passage back into Heaven, but why would one deserving of Heaven, cast it aside for a Demon?

Imagine offing your own son just so you can go back to heaven. Talk about callous greed... Inarius was such a scumbag father.
