Don’t forget, he had no less than 4 different offensive coordinators in his first 5 years with the titans. That is a complete failure of the organization and made the odds for success much lower despite the success they had at certain times over the years. The falcons were a sham to begin with. Had Arthur Smith stuck to his guns he may have made something of the falcons and he might still have a job as a head coach. Glad to see some positive on a personal note for a good player and more importantly a good man.

What Washington has to do is on certain plays, let the other QB rest and relax, then tell Marcus to go in.....take turns. If Marcus does WELL again, fine....up to the coaches.

Mariota my favorite QB, been following his career since Oregon. The titans and falcons were bad to begin with when he joined and the fans were so toxic toward him that I think it added to his mental stress as well

Ngl If Mariota was given real weapons around him and stable coaches to help him utilize the strengths he had, he would've been great but, when your o-line was only good in 1 season and your franchise drafts a wr 2 in the first round (Corey Davis), your best receiver was a aging delanie walker and Derrick henry wasn't who he is today the guy really had nothing to work with until the franchise scrapped him. (Great Video btw)

Mariota took the 1-14 titans in 2014 and took them to the playoffs and won against KC in arrowhead in - degree wins bro he came back from 3-24 deficit who in today NFL can say that? In fact he threw and caught his own touchdown pass to spark the comeback . Only reason they lost in the divisional game was cuz they played the Super Bowl champs that year .. Prime fuckinh Patriots Dynasty in New England… nobody was beating them that year

I was at the Oregon spring game when he made his debut. He was 2nd string going into the game (can't remember the other guy's name). The other QB blew it his first possession. Marcus came into the game and broke off an 80 yard td run, it was game over.

Honestly I don’t think anything went “wrong” necessarily, I just think he’s the perfect example of why the NFL is such a true example of a team sport. We are seeing more and more that coaching, organization, and teammates (particularly Oline) are the biggest reason for a QBs success. There’s no doubt in my mind that if Mariota was drafted by a Green Bay type organization for example, he would be playing similarly to how Jordan Love has started his career and would be considered a starter.

The Titans were woefully negligent in aiding Marcus during his stint with them. Poor management in spades! They just about destroyed his confidence by not creating plays that supported his abilities and choosing players that could not defend him. I can’t count the number of times he was sacked due to poor play calling. Also, 3 coaches and either 4 or 5 offensive coaches during his time in Nashville. No one deserves what he suffered through.

What happened? Simple Titans Organization ruined a 2nd pick in the draft. He was too ahead of his time he’s basically what Lamar Jackson was before Lamar in college so NFL in 2015 as a rookie on the titans cmon dog not even Pat mahomes could save that dumpster fire 🔥 if he was drafted to a good team with a offense mind like Kyle Shanahan or even a Mcdaniels he would be a beast

Nothing went wrong with Marcus....only thing WRONG is that ALL the teams that he started with, they benched him.....Tanner guy, Carr, all wanted the game all to themselves and NOT take a break so Marcus can go in and do his to show WHY he is the Heisman Trophy winner. Look what happened recently to the Commanders.....that black QB injured in a play so Marcus was called UP.....he performed AND made TDS!!!! and so, winning the game! If I was a coach, I would make sure QBs takes turns in a game.....is there any rule in the NFL book that says a team cant switch QBs? If the back ups F-U, then yank them BACK onto the bench!

Mariota went to my fav team who wants to run the ball and then run the ball and again run the balll… constantly leaving a qb in 3rd and long when defenses know a pass is coming and was still voted into the top 100 players list lol stop with the whole mariota sucks the titans are garbage I should know I’m 39 and have watched almost every Titan game ever… doesn’t make sense that you draft a qb that can go no huddle and beat defenses but you don’t do that at the nfk level lemme guess cause nfl coaches know better my ass they do… so many nfl coaches get jobs off bullshit anyway. Draft a running qb that can run a no huddle and then tell him to gain weight and run a running offense lol which is exactly what the titans did

Look at their record......too late! even if TT gave him a real big salary to return, I doubt Marcus will......its like quitting a job that you didnt like, then the company knows they screwed up and want to $$$$$$$$$$$$$ you salary. What was sad also is that his offense line with the Titans wasn't doing their job in protecting there quarterback. It so shame n obvious watching those games where you see his front offense so-called teammates stepping to the side n just watch the defense sack him.
