Thanks to Dave from FFM for his valuable time designing and folding up the custom intercooler tanks! Check out some of Daves work here! www.ffmfabrication.com.au instagram.com/ffm_fabrication
How the hell is there bullshit on TV like 'counting cars' and 'street outlaws' when content to this quality is made in someone's backyard. Perfect balance of explanations, work being done, and shop banter. Keep it up boys!
"OEM Charge Pipe Designer" here.. Just so you get context on OEM stuff, we are absolute last on the list for working out routing. I have to work around water, electric, AC... its the most frustrating thing. So jealous that you are doing what is priority first not last!!!
Shenanigan's, Lemon Squashes and always learning new stuff🤟🤟 Woody is getting as good with the TIG as his editing skills and Al's patience... well, they are still there. 🤪🤪 It would interesting to show the comparison between the 2 turbos on the Dyno.
Fantastic work guys, glad to see the crown get the engine it deserves. Jump cut editing might be the next best thing alongside the classic squeaky hammer 👌🏻👌🏻
Always a good day when a new episode comes out, chill vibes all round. Also spot on with that boet accent, and it's not Jerky it's Biltong. Greetings from South Africa!
Damn thought Woody was going for a budget build but he's balling out with a new turbo, raceworks intercooler clamps and 700hp power goals. Great build so far!
Really enjoying this build, it's great to see you working on your own cars. As always, thanks for the excellent info and for sharing what you have learned while doing these swaps. The custom-etched logo on the intercooler tank is a nice touch!
Love me some Crown news! And while I'm sure the aussies watching may be going "aww not another barra swap", most of us in non-barra countries are super keen to learn more about them. It seems like a barra really is the bigger badder brother of all the 1J/2J/RB builds the rest of the world are used to, and I'm loving it.
Well, that was another fun vid from The Skid Factory. Thanks for the educational entertainment. You'll be happy to know I finished all the transmission, wiring, brake and A/C upgrades on the old '59 Jag. Took it for a test drive and there's some minor changes I'm going to make but all in all it worked out. Next, I'll be pretending I'm Al as I build a new exhaust for it using parts from an old HKS system I took off my 350Z. What could go wrong? Cheers!
Hey boys, Love the reality to these builds. Love the work and attention to detail. Keep up the good work. Will follow the TD42 build with great interest
I like the instant reaction I get when I say things Like "A few mills or just a couple thou" idk why. it's basic measurements but most times people respond like they just found out you're capable of reading the Necronomicon or something.
Looks mint Woodsman. Nice dimes and love the stacked coolers. Hope you're bringing this rig to scummernats for phat skids and dyno fun with Mr. HOLLYWOOD
The way i knew it was to measure the max of the profile. So like if you take one of the fins, make a thin cardboard template and splay it out flat, the most extended bit is where you need to measure (on the actual prop). Because that's the spot where the last "catch" on the forced air happens. It's kinda like when you launch someone on a swing hard for a jump, and you use your finger tips to give it every bit of momentum.
The music definitely helped with the some mesmerising work that was done. Nice South African accent Woody. Though keep in mind, you will get slapped for calling it beef jerky.
cfm per bald eagle is 76 cfm per flap that's a lot of Bald Eagles here stateside, Love My Brothers Down Under You Blokes Rock Learned so much I appreciate it, Thanks if I haven't said it Before, Now go pound A Lemon Squash for Me!
I particularly enjoyed the waste gate plumbing terminology - atmosphere and atmosphere at the back. Practically there is some difference though -giving up a tiny bit of performance and potentially a couple of extra hours of fab time for captain planet. The more effort we put into doing things "the right way", the longer we will be able to keep driving these sorts of cars. Always gives me the shits to see that emissions aren't taken seriously in the states for modified vehicles - yeah it's a pain in the arse, but putting the extra time and effort in is something we need to do to prolong the time we will get to drive these vehicles for. We should all do our part and it feels ridiculous to me that there are so many "enthusiasts" in the world that can't be stuffed. If you don't do what you can to prolong the life of an interest, can you really call yourself an enthusiast? Anyways fellas, old man yells at cloud time over, keep up the great work.
There is a mint s13 silvia in gympie. But after many months at panel shop due to circumstances. Half hour after he picked it up it spun a bearing.... will be a nice rig again one day
Woody, I don't know what to say about that intercooler; that could have been your breakout moment as a welder! Right in front a camera- a real YT Emmy if you get my drift! But nah, you did your stuff; and you know what- that's all right, because it works and works well, and some bloke full of gas is kind of lost behind a riposte "let me see your welding, keyboard warrior". Btw, you version of American Southern is maybe worse than my version of the Ozzish version. And I speak fluent American Southern! It's a great looking project- Toyota would have done it they had thought to! Lotsa "katoooshes" !
Loving this build and loving the fab. Tho... like the MR2 build, can we please get more of Woody talking in the video.. describing whats doing to happen what the plan is and why, and then Al doing the monologue ... kinda the opposite to what normally happens in these videos. Surpised there wasn't an 8 ball inside that turbo
I did see "wha's for dinner" followed by "tandoori lamb cutlets" at 24:52. What I also saw was solid connections from the turbo through to the throttle body, which, last time I mentioned it (when you used a silicone joint) you mentioned you don't do. Yet here is ia prime example of the cold side being mounted solidly to the turbo, the intercooler and the throttle body. Not the smartest I'd say, as the turbo and throttle body will move with the engine, yet the intercooler is fixed to the body. Can't tell me that you don't do it that way because you've just done it.
The Raceworks clamps actually have quite a bit of movement in them combined with Tuffmounts engine mounts where the engine movement is to a minimum. If there’s a failure like a cracked pipe we’re not ones to hide behind the curtains and will tell you about it but for the few cars we’ve fitted these clamps to we haven’t had any issues

Learning is learning mate, looks amazing man can’t wait to hear to start up 👌🏼
Is that a woody on the driver's side of the intercooler
@@djredhareaus38 Looks like it... a big one too, and by the look in it's eye he is ready for a fight.....lol
Awesome content 👍👍

Perfect balance of explanations, work being done, and shop banter.
Keep it up boys!
Ditched cable tv many moons ago 👌👌
"Wheeler dealer" is the worst out the lot, total fraudsters
Love how Al is always trying to convince everyone to plumb to atmo, the supreme setup 👌🏻
Thing is.... no-one seems to listen to him.
The guys at MCM didn't when they were working on the Levorg.
Atmo is so old hat and asbo, police hate it
lol, Woody's South African accent is bloody on point.
I'm just hurt him calling Biltong "South African Beef Jerky"!
So is his Dr Nick accent
Botha’s ghost?
Hard to beat a barra. I’m a yankee lol Ford proper but I miss lots of cars I’ve own and sold. Supra turbo with nitrous to spin up fast!
Was spot on😂
The polish on the vids these days is second to none guys 👌
Great ep and especially the chit chat after, love it and keep it up!
Thanks for the kind words mate!
@@Woodrigos Pleasure mate. Credit where it's due.
On topic, good info, bit of banter and no rubbish.
Winning formula!
BROTHER! This really is the highest quality youtube quannel out there 🏆
Woodys nervous laughter after "29 psi minimum spring" ia golden.
1100hp minimum springs🤣
"Shamingying" : Verb: to screw around with until it fits.

You should see the BA Falcon Turbo piping. That guy got called in on a sunday the day before release.

He's taking the name of the channel very seriously by the looks...
Love seeing woody doing the fab work on his car. Keep going with the crown 👌
Engraving on the end tanks looks great 👀
Nice bead work on the lower bracket, Woody. It's those small details that make such a difference on a big project.
Looks mega, really envious on the welding....looks awesome to me & so much more rewarding having done it yourself!
that extra "pipe" on one of the intercooler end tanks absolutely killed me, toeing the line of "youtube friendly" content lmao
Really enjoying this build, it's great to see you working on your own cars. As always, thanks for the excellent info and for sharing what you have learned while doing these swaps. The custom-etched logo on the intercooler tank is a nice touch!
Such good content till the last second. Love this format
Great job guys, Woody’s welding is getting better, the more practice, the better you’ll get
The outro jump cuts gave me my first belly laugh this week, cheers Woody!

Good hussle Woodrigues! Good seeing your progression through the years! Keep it up mate! Great content!
Woody is doing good fabricating and presenting :) This is a lovely build, I'm really impressed with the cooling, piping and welding.
The last section of the video was great… learn new stuff from this show, all the time! 🤜🏼🤛🏼🇦🇺🍀😎

Your welds look pretty decent Woody, this thing is going to be unreal!
Excellent welding. Yall are some pros when it comes to fab work. Love the content! ❤
There is not only a skid factory logo on that intercooler 😁 (17:01)
Hey boys, Love the reality to these builds. Love the work and attention to detail. Keep up the good work. Will follow the TD42 build with great interest
It's just dawned on the that there is an engine build ep in the not too distant future 🎉
Woodies welds have come a long way 👍
Very neat woody!!! You've come a long way since the begining of the show!
More of this series! I dig it.
Have to say the fab work and welding was bloody good this episode Woody!
More south African thanks woody 👌👌 killer episode yet again ❤
Hope you enjoyed the biltong Woody! Awesome video as always. Greetings a fan from South Africa
lol at the engraving on the driver side intercooler end tank, nice touch

Loving my new Toolpro button-down while I enjoy my dinner of tandori lamb cutlets! As always, cheers.
I have a Garrett g40 1150 on a built barra on a low mount manifold ,made 744rwkw thru a zf and maxed it out , cracker of a turbo for the street
Nice welds Woody. Looks bloody great!
Cheers mate
Mint kustom engraving on the driver side intercooler tank
That's coming along really nicely Woody 😊 Will be quite the barn stormer once done!!!
Lovely episode. Builds coming along nicely!
That end tank just made the list if the funniest shit I've seen on the web today! Lololol
Very cool! Maybe a couple flex points on the plumbing. Cuz that motor's gonna be a buckin brumby!
It appears Dave put in a very lifelike turbo snail on the left side there.
The sneaky camera work makes it a bit hard to see
Time-lapse music is fire! 🔥🔥
Loving it large gents. Sprog doing neat things with the tunes as well 🎶👌
I have a 6870 precision on my barra. I believe they’re comparative in size. And i can confidently say yes, perfect size

that ac setup is a nice win!
to good seeing Woody doing so much of the fab work
that was magic to watch guys...
Epic build... brings that crown up a couple levels
And we always put the turbo back together properly don’t we Allen (flashback to patrol turbo self eject mode)
Woody missed an opportunity to throw that footage in just after Al said that 😂
I would paint that rocker cover same colour as the car woody 💪🏻
That’s the plan! But the lower two tone and engine bay will be the body colour
So we get to look forward to a champagne cover? That's mint 😮
Is that Dave's "personal" logo?
That cooler setup is mint woody 👌
Wow 10 years ago he had the turbo 1UZ? I remember chatting with him about it at the Kawana car meet back then. Time flies.
Love you fellers fab work !

respect Woodie no screamer ruins the sound of the turbo spool and engine note
Woodys intercooler has a woody on it
This is such a awesome build I love the barra build
Did the timelapse music have the sound of the tig torch gas turning off in it?
Interesting logo on that end tank. Must be a new company.
Barra the world mate! so cool!

Tasteful intercooler artwork, only true men of culture can appreciate such aesthetic.
Arrr the good old dicktation on the other side of the front mount bahaha bloody gold
Always measure from the base to the extended tip
I cross paths with a Silvia almost every morning on the way to work. Never met them but seems tidy in the dark.
Loving this build and loving the fab.

Mint work woody!
The level or fabrication is amazing, good work fellas!
PS: Comment on the bevelling of the new turbo fins around 5:38?
Hell yes keen for the td 🍻🎉
Those end tanks on the IC 👌🫣
Where do you guys measure it from the tip or the main body of it haha always measure from the tip every bit counts
The jump cut convo, and then the jump cuts 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is it me? Or is Woody morphing into Mr Garrison :-)
Love the project!
