In this video we carry out a comprehensive review of the new Aerosoft A330 CEO "Base Pack", for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
We recreate a real-world American Airlines service, taking the aircraft from Charlotte Douglas Intl (KCLT), over to Philadelphia (KPHL). The Aerosoft A330 has already received quite a lot of criticism so, let's find out whether or not it's deserved. . .
Please note this video and all its contents / materials, is for entertainment / simulation purposes only.

I don't enjoy having to review any addon negatively, especially knowing that such criticism can potentially affect people's livelihoods etc. That being said, it’s clear that the A330 wasn’t really ready for release; at the very least, the aircraft should have been marketed as an "early access" product. Ultimately, given that the addon was developed by one of the hobby's most established developers, I don't think that such standards are acceptable / fair to the customer.
If all of the A330's issues are addressed in due course, I would be more than happy to revisit the aircraft and revise my opinions accordingly.
I hope / believe that my critique was both accurate and fair.
All the best, guys!
So, I'm guessing you will not be reviewing the AH Boeing 707? Love your reviews, they are the best.
That 27 second long camera shot of the cabin while the real life cabin announcement played was absolutely savage
13:15 - That view of the dungeon made a bit of wee come out!
Amazing, 4 years of development and loads of German government money for a half-baked P3D port... What a disgrace to the community.
I wish it was a P3d port. Atleast then we'd have hold
@@Itamem0no Honestly...
Why was German government involved?
What a disgrace to the German people. Money could have easily gone towards education instead.
@@Ruka-f7k I don't know, ask them?
Clearly tryna get it out before 2024 default releases. Great review as always
Nah that cabin shot is something straight out of my nightmares
How do you even as a company release a product in that state? I just don't get it. Haven't they got someone at Aerosoft that have SOME form of professional pride in their craft? It absolutely baffles me.
@@IncorrigibleBigotry Money and possibly some pressure from higher ups to get it out before 2024
Pretty sure I have seen this in some fever dreams when I was young
Have no interest in any Airbus, but had to see how you reviewed this product without using strong language and be polite as you always are.
Giving any negative review of any product is an art, and takes much more effort than a positive review.
You are a typical English gentleman. Well executed - sir.
Took that sweet government money, left a QA in office, outsourced development offshore, then went out for beers for 3 years. ( I assume)
110%
Not even worth Simplaza.
😂😂😂
Oh man... Always always always look forward to your reviews, but I'll be honest, I half expected Aerosoft not to provide you a copy to review given your history of fair, unbiased, and thorough reviews. I'm sure this video will be no different. Many thanks for your continued work on these aircraft reviews!
Thank you for the honest review of the "product". Its sad when promises are not delivered on and something is shoved out the door. After a rocky road with the CRJ and AerosoftOne sadly I am anyone but Aerosoft flyer now. Keep up the great reviews you content and approach is terrific.
The review was up to your usual standards and is appreciated. I look forward to all of them. Right now my personal opinion is that the Headwind Simulations A-330 is perfectly adequate and the price is right. We actually have a very good selection of fine freeware airliners: A-310, A-320, A-330, B747 and, especially, the B-787. It's hard for me to get excited about every new jet airliner that comes along with the exception of the Fokker and the PMDG 777. I just don't have the time or hard drive space to take them all to the dance.
In short Arosoft did this to them selves and rightly deserved to be grilled especially for a plane that’s been in development in a big development house for 3yrs this release is shocking. The auto pilot and engine control seems to be one of the big arrears of failure especially compared to other options it’s not end close to even the free wear in my opinion. As I’ve Sead before F- for Arosoft Not acceptable.
Maybe trying to rush it to get something out in time for MSFS2024
@@g-locmedia yep agree and probably for other reasons also like poor management and over sight, pressure of German taxpayers money, and a clear failure to QC or listen to reviewers.
My question is what have they been doing for the past 3 years. This is like what I would expect to see a year and a half ago. Odd
Love how reversers aren't even modeled. Just a black void
Looks like mathjis jumped ship at the right time. Before long Aerosoft will join the ranks of Captainsim.
13:15 wtf? :D great interior
Thanks for your thorough review, then you know what not to spend your money on - I only check your videos, it gives great insight.
This aerosoft team has never modified the autopilot of the CRJ series aircraft, the autopilot loses control midway. So I am not surprised about this module.
Disappointing. Will you be trialling the latest LVFR A330-200? They may not have the systems depth but I find their other products satisfying to fly. Thank you for a very thorough review 👍
Is there a mod out there that can implement say like the fbw avionics system?
To be fair, considering how mid the Twin Otter apparently was... I wasn't surprised.
How did it happen? MS announced there will be a 330 in the base version of MSFS2024 and Aerosoft already invested a lot so they pushed out an unfinished product to get some money back. That's it.
I am a german flightsimmer since the first days of microsoft flightsim. Since then I mostly regretted having bought addons with aerosoft.
althought they did make a good Dehavlin Beaver otherwise I disliked Aerrosoft for making a complete mess of the Twotter.
What ever has become of Aerosoft ? I loved their aircraft in FSX and P3D, but the Twin Otter in MSFS2020 was disappointing, and now this A330 seems to have so many problems. I really liked the company, their forums used to be very enjoyable with screenshot contests and download give-aways, but it all seems to have gone down hill in the last two or three years. I hope their fortunes revive - dusting off their Catalina for MSFS2024 would be a big step in the right direction.
Greed, probably.
just hearing the frustration and disappointment in your voice just says a lot about this product, I never thought I see something worse than Captain Scam... I mean sim, anyway excellent review as always sir, cheers
Sadly it appears to be nothing more than a desperate cash grab, due to the realisation that the A330 included with MSFS24 will most likely be the one developed by inibuilds, and therefor something at least on par with a fully developed product of their own. A shame really, as I enjoyed their A330 for P3D, but something this basic is simply unacceptable.
Hi Great video as always! Are your visuals post processed in the videos or do you use any in game filters etc ?
Hope aerosoft work on it. At least better than the LVFR one, for sure!
They complain about piracy but devs do it to themselves by releasing slop and MS does it to the dev community by promoting slop in the marketplace. (I’ve never pirated software, I just personally blacklist).
It’s a lot of money to pay for a plane/model so poorly done. I find it amazing that they think it is acceptable to offer a product of such poor quality. Great review..thank you
When you review the LVFR A330-200 Can you fly the Airfrance GE livery?
Why didn’t they wait and ask a higher price for a better product than comes with the game, like Fenix did with the A320?
Hi captin i'm just wanna ask u if the MD 80 or 82
will be in mfs 2024 i hope they will add it cause we don't have this airline on xbox 💔☹️
If its a Airbus I will stick to my multiple versions of the fenix Aircraft i own. Fenix needs to make all the Airbuses, thats just my opinion.
How do you decel on rwy after touchdown? I cannot brake after landing...It's impossible to decel on runway after touch down, the aircraft slip away from 136kts to 200kts, it's a nightmare, Why Aerosoft prerelased the A/C in this horrible status?
Sad part of this all is there’s people that said they are going to buy it. Can’t fix stupid.
Idiots
Aerosoft have destroyed their reputation by releasing this absolute pile of shite
who cares lmao. get yourself a hobby or something
Aeroshit 💩
Complete Disgrace
Spot on Review now perhaps review a better aircraft apparently Flysimware Sierra C24R but out of the reviews the sound of the aircraft wasn't realy my cup of tea.
the cabin shot....omg... i thought it was a joke... wow!
The whiskey compass does not appear to even work. This is so so sad to see. Is it possible the last two bad releases (the 707 and this) are due to the switch over to 2024, and some devs are prematurely thinking all 2020 simmers are going to jump ship to the unproven and demanding 2024? Ugh, that hunting along the course line during cruise was just pathetic. The MCDU data being all wonky is pretty terrible as well. This aircraft is pretty much unusable, wow, how could they release it like this? This is worse than the 707. The textures are pretty shoddy too. Well, hoping the product gets some developer love. Nice and fair review.
Excellent video,thank you👍👍
Much smaller teams, with much less funding, do much better. Good job FS labs and inibuilds are doing A330 for 2024. I’m guessing fenix will also do one at some point.
Still going to fly it, because it's still the best looking a330 on the market, no kidding. Fenix is in my opinion the only one who can top this
@@jasonkey7649I would much rather fly the current PMP a330 right now, at least it has some VATSIM capabilities
@@InYourWalls101 PMP a330 looks like a playtool to me. Only the aerosoft one reminds me of a real a330
LVFR made one aswell
Watch better? Lvfr 330 200 or this aerosoft?
This A330 won't decel on runway after landing, it's rally hard to brake, and fly it in VR cause lot stutter ad FPS drops. Did you modify something? i'm a pilot to dear colleauge
What addons are you using?
A real shame, this aircraft was decent enough back in P3D. Sad to see Aerosoft being such a shell of it's former self, this is obviously a desperate money grab attempt before the free inibuilds A330 in MS24 makes this product irrelevant. Appreciate the review.
Different airplanes but when you see what Headwind and FBW did for free this just simply is not good enough for a paid product...
Pretty disappointed by the long wait for half baked product.I will surely buy this once they update with all features enabled, specially a modelled cabin.
Lmao the title got me 😂
Those textures are so bad
You gotta be honest. Not your fault if it didn't meet criteria.
Did You Flown The A330 For American Airlines ✈
Great video with realistic comments. This aircraft is as poor as their A330 and A430 for P3d. I understand this is actually being developped for MSFS2024 so why put out this rubish for 2020?
Major disappointment, considering the length of time they’ve had to build this. I also hadn’t realised they’ve been part-funded by government money, which is interesting. And an awful deal for the tax payer… Utterly bizarre that they’ve willingly released this. Did somebody within Aerosoft just lose their focus one morning…
don‘t buy it!!!
Will they be making the RR engines soon?
They can’t even make the airplane. 😂
Are you really planning on buying this?
Wait for IniBuilds A330
They released this now because they know that once the Inibuilds/Microsoft one is released with MSFS24, their chance at making any reasonable amount of sales would tank. So they've disingenuously released this now. I think they're a terrible developer tbh. Their aircraft are universally rubbish. Their airports are generally developed by far more competent and talented devs and published by them. Which is why they're good, as they don't have a hand in the development. This is absolute garbage and they should be ashamed of it.
But come on guys its a cheap $24 addon.
It's beta! So finish it before purchasers to to pay to be beta tester's. Bloody shameful!
They had 3 years 😂 and German Gov money. This is not something to beta fix. This is an atrocity. 😂
Boycott Aerosoft
I can't find out why elsewhere- can anyone explain to me why a government is giving an entertainment company heaps of taxpayer money to build games???
13:55 why is noone talking about the how good the graphics look, I can't imagine msf 2024 which I assume will have better graphics
Disappointing ! Feels more like a freeware...even it was, wouldn't bother to download
still going to fly it, because it's still the best looking a330 on the market, no kidding
Hi, thank you for the review. This is a very disappointing release by any standards, such a shame. Thank you for your honesty and unbiased opinion.
