    I used to only weigh every week and I showed a weight gain I a one week period of 8.6 pounds. I didn’t weigh again for two weeks and had lost 14.4 pounds in those two weeks. I didn’t change anything I was doing in that period just had a drastic fluctuation. CRAZY!!! I don’t stress about it anymore. I just keep doing what I’m doing. Down 90 pounds since Sept 9 2019.

    Thank you for this video! I really needed to hear this! My weight has always fluctuated and it drives me nuts! I’ve got to learn how to emotionally detached myself from the scales 😱

      I'm glad it was timely. And I'm telling you, if I can emotionally detach from the scale, anybody can do it! It just takes daily practice. (:

    Great video!!! You are so right about the carbs and salt giving you a gain. So knowing that this is only a temporary gain means I can still have my Chinese food and Pizza YAY :)

    I soo needed this video on weight fluctuations. This month I really wanted to break into the next 10 pound range down on the scale. I've been so fixated at getting to that number and my body is just not cooperating. I've got to let it go, trust the process and keep following my plan. I also have to really consider recording my weight daily. I have been weighing everyday but only recording when I lose because I wanted that downward trend on the graph (how messed up is that?). Anyway, taking a deep breath and entering December with no expectations except to do the best I can everyday. Thank you, Thank you!

      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад +1

      Rhonda, I totally get that way of thinking though. That was so me at one point. I hope your December goes really well. Just stay as consistent as possible, and eventually the scale will catch up with your efforts! (;

    I love your suggestion to view the scale as a tool for collecting data, but not dictating how you feel about yourself💟 I was SUPER hesitant to use your system of weighing myself everyday. Especially since I rarely do it but maybe once a year. Well, I've been doing it for almost 2 weeks and I'm already seeing the advantage of a 7 day average! I did gain some over Thanksgiving, but I'm already back on a downward trend😀

    I enjoyed reading in your book about experimenting with your weight loss journey as if you are conducting a science experiment with yourself as the subject. This mindset can be helpful when experiencing weight fluctuations (like I did this morning). Trying to not stress over the scale is difficult for me.

      Again, thank you so much Margo for buying my book! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm so totally still a work in progress about not stressing over the scale, especially if I'm being hormonal! 😉 I've come a long way though!

    Some people weigh them self once a month just to avoid stress of looking at the scale. My weight can go up 8 lbs and then back down. Nice toes!

      I'm a once a month weigher too. I hate getting on the scales. I keep a track of the months weight. So far it's down, though sometimes only half a kilo. If I'm doing Omad I or even 16/8 I'm sure I'll be ok. So far so good.

    • @SixMilesToSupper
      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah, I lose track of time. And even days. And sometimes what month it is. So monthly weighing would be disastrous for me. But as always, I say do whatever works for YOU! (:

    In the last seven days, three pounds. I used to have more of an emotional attachment to the number when I was younger, these days not so much. I’ve been roughly the same weight for the last five five years. I was content and accepting. Current mindset: Let’s see if I can lose weight slowly with IF. I’ve lost a little over 12 pounds total. I’m more consistent these days and trends are improving. Have a nice day Kayla!

Right back to "cleaner" eating today and the weight will go down. 40 lbs down since July. 40 more to go. Keep the videos coming. You are an awesome motivator. We all love you! 💙💙💙😄😄😄

    Well this week my weight went up 10lbs and I probably ate less then at any other time but I did have watermelon and I always add a little sea salt to it which is probably where the excess weight came from. I need to start weighing myself daily like Kayla does in order to see the changes I need to make to keep my weight loss going in the right direction. ✌️😎

    Thanks for the video. Rice, pasta, salt and sugar make me hold water, and loads of it. I feel like a camel 🐪🐪🐪🐪🐪. I usually want to throw the scales and smash them into 1000 pieces, but changing to averaging my weight for the first time ever I am being more realistic and am in it for the loooong haul! my fluctuations can be up to and a bit over 2kgs ( 4 pounds). I am gathering my data more consistently now by weighing every day, and will be able to see trends after a few months of the new logging system.

    Weight isn’t the best, or even a very good, marker of health. It seems to me that a pound or two either way is normal. The swings you’re talking about might indicate that a change in food is needed.

    • @SixMilesToSupper
      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад

      I disagree about weight not being a good marker of health. According to the research I did when I was heavy (and trying to be okay with being heavy!) being overweight is simply detrimental to your health. I was having trouble breathing at night, and overall I just did not feel that great, when I was obese. Now that I'm at a healthy weight, I feel fantastic. And I'm not planning on changing the foods I'm eating. Weight fluctuations are normal for everyone, even though some people fluctuate more than others.

    • @elwood62
      @elwood62 6 лет назад

      I was in no way suggesting that being heavy can be healthy. I don’t believe in ‘Fat but Fit’. What I was saying is that being thin doesn’t automatically mean good health. I’m sure that you feel better in general but I wonder about metabolic health if you’re experiencing the weight fluctuations you were talking about. I think I saw in a previous video that you wanted to lose weight without giving up any foods, and I’m glad it worked for you. I’m a little surprised that after losing weight you haven’t moved to healthier foods. The are too many thin type2 diabetics in the world to believe that low weight always means good health.

    • @SixMilesToSupper
      @SixMilesToSupper  6 лет назад

      My personal philosophy on food is to eat what you want, just not too much, and not worry. I've researched how people eat worldwide, and that's simply my conclusion. Professor Haub's Twinkie diet experiment was quite interesting to me as well.

    • @elwood62
      @elwood62 6 лет назад

      I’m not sure what to say to a person that uses the Twinkie diet to justify their current way of eating.
