Appreciate your honesty❤. We lost our four year old granddaughter and it forever changed our life in a mighty way! God is faithful and journaling is an excellent tool to express ourselves and what we are walking through! Keep going forward! And little things mean a lot in our lives!❤❤
Yep, may this year be much better for you. Year before last (2023) I went through a loss, a move after living in Alaska for 45 years, and I had a hip replacement and I had some low energy and painful months. 2024 was a year of regaining strength, got the 10 pounds off I had gained, we found a good church now (since we had moved), and life has been blessed living next to my daughter and her family. I really hope your coming year is BLESSED. And, you made it through! New Chapter.
Sorry for your losses! I agree about being more lenient during the holidays and making up for it later on. I like your flexible attitude. Thanks for explaining about your weight average goal of below 155 due to the BMI chart. I looked up mine and I need to be 145 or below to be in the normal weight category. So that is my goal for 2025! 🎉. Thanks for helping me think about that!
Happy New Year! 🎊🥂 This video was encouraging for me. It really helps to know how others deal with their own annus horribilis. I’ve felt the way that you described for the past few years since my husband died. My weight is at an all time high. I would like to start exercising and journaling this year but I’m not sure how to journal. It would be helpful if you could do a video on journaling and weight loss. Thank you for all you do!
I can relate to your challenges this year, I went through a very difficult year which I believe contributed to my health issues. Your comment about life not being promised is so true. I appreciate the authenticity and honestly in your Year in Review. I am a new subscriber and also joined as a member. I discovered your channel from Dawn, "Money Mom." I am in my mid-60's and I need to address higher blood pressure under the guidance of my Doctor (after basically a lifetime of lower blood pressure). I look forward to learning more from you! Wishing you a blessed New Year! 🙏
Kayla, my heart goes out to you. Thank you for sharing and showing us that we can get through the tough times and hang on to our goals. And that our goals may even help us on our toughest days.❤
Thank you for this video, Kayla! I've had some budget and work issues lately, and it was reassuring to hear your attitude to your own difficulties. Indeed, sometimes this happens, it sucks, but oh well.
Happy New Year Kayla. God led you to make this video to encourage your supporters. Thanks for being honest and putting things in perspective. I pray God continues to walk with you in 2025. Sorry for your losses.
Kayla, this is so encouraging! This is why I appreciate Intermittent Fasting! We can eat more, enjoy these seasons, and then get back to our normal routine once the Christmas season is over! Before we know it Lent will be here haha.😆 It’s been a rough year, or more than a year, for me too, grief and loss in different ways and my weight and fasting struggles definitely reflect my life. When we are under stress and grief our bodies respond by trying to protect us and not lose weight. :) But, for those of us still trying to keep fasting through hard times, as imperfect as it can be, the weight gain is rarely shocking. 5-10lbs ^ would seem normal for a person struggling with grief, stress, mental health. Thank you for sharing how you evaluate the year and incorporating everything like reading and walking and showing us that this is ok and normal and there are reasons. Side note: my daughter read Swamps of Dorscha as a gift from me this Christmas and loved it! Thank you for writing it! I also got her Icon: A Novel by Georgia Briggs which also takes place around Christmas season. It’s surprisingly heavy but so deep and real and deals with death as Orthodox. I sobbed 😊and it was cathartic after a rough year. I do recommend it!
Thank you so much for that kind comment! I am thrilled your daughter read the Swamps of Dorscha and loved it! What a wonderful way to begin my new year!
Sorry for your loss, It does help to hear how you track and adjust to maintain your weight loss. I had been maintaining pretty well for about 6 months and after the holiday, stepped on the scale this last 4-5 days and have gained 6 lbs.. i think the scary part is how slowly it comes off, and how quickly it comes back on.. I'm getting back on track and hoping for the best.
Thanks for sharing because I have had tough year too. Happily, I did pack up my size 18, 20 and 22 clothes. I gave them to.my church for distribution. I pray that we both have a happy new year. There's only one way UP!
You are allowed to be human! I really enjoy listening to you! I have lost 45 pounds, mostly intermittent fasting and exercising!! Thank you and Happy 2025! We can do it!?!lolol
Have a Blessed New Year dear Kayla and family. Thank you for this message. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad and Papa. I remembered hearing about your Papa but l didn't know about your dad. You are doing the best you can and this video is an inspiration to those that understand your sadness. It truly is devastating to go through loss of our beloved family.❤️
Mine might have been a little better but I was unemployed for 6 months and I am the primary income source. I finally found a job in August but am still struggling into January. Here's to a much better 2025 for both of us.
Hi Kayla , thanks for the amazing video and insights. Your videos have been quite useful to start my IF journey and find them very realistic and doable. I have a question - I have been fasting for atleast 17-18 hours 6 days a week with either 1 meal and 1 snack or 2 meals for last 45+ days but notice no significant weight loss. In fact I have gained a bit. To give you a back ground I had lost about 15 kgs weight last year with a program I was doing with proper diet etc and was stuck at a particular weight post that. Leading to this year gaining back around 5 kgs now. Feeling quite disheartened not seeing any weight loss. Any advise is helpful.
Hey Kayla! Sorry for the difficult year you had.. You are such an inspiration to so many of us.. thanks for being so real.. wishing you a stronger 2025! 🩷
Hi Kayla- I’ll be using this account going forward. I’ll try to figure out how to transfer / restart my ‘Progress n Transformation’ Insider membership thru Gmail. Hope 2025 is going well for you.
