Kripp, maybe because I'm first you ll see my comment, please make a video about the new GvG paladin legendary. It's my favourite class and i really want to hear professional opinion of a beter player.
The card is fine. You can often build it up to a 6/7 really easily thanks to Muster, and that's basically as high as you want it to go because of BGH. You play this, it eats a silence, and then you are free to play Tirian.
Kuba S its playable but not that great , also not Bad. Paladin already uses a lot of 5 drops Like Quartermaster, Sludge, also in some cases Bomb Lobber etc. And about These 5 drops u can be sure they bring value Big Problem about the new legendary is silence ,but if the opponent uses silence on it he maybe cant silence Tyrion . And also if he has no silence or no removal like shadow word death or maybe BGH if its grows huge its really good The biggest Problem is that you normaly dont wanna play it One turn 5 , beacuse then its Like a stallag or feugen just without any effect . In Most cases you play it on turn 7-10 or even later . If you play it on turn seven you can't play anything other , only a dude and then Dr.Boom for example is just a lot better ! Because it's a guarantee 7/7 with 2 dudes that explodes . lkjkhfggd Ya unfortunately that's the problem with it. If he gets silenced you now have a 1/7 walking around. Pretty depressing after all the hard work building up the attack. Still, a silence on him means a silence not on Tirion. Ups and downs of Hearthstone I guess.
Kitelime Too many people take it too far nowadays, and I'm pretty sick of seeing sex jokes everywhere I go, if I'm honest, but whatever. *inb4 "Well you must be fun at parties! :T"*
This is how to make the card useful in all game modes. puu.sh/gjPl8.png You can also ignore the "Gnome" part if you want. I just put it there because I strongly believe that every minion card should have a type regardless of if the type has synergy with anything or not.
Felipe Pinto I sometimes wonder if Blizzard will release a card like this but instead of blocking spells, it stops you from targeting minions with battlecries. So BGH, ironbeak, and Black Knight counters. That would be really annoying.
In constructed, in a mage deck I was using a few months ago, Wee Spellstopper was actually a really awesome plan C/long game card to have. I only had one in my deck, so I didn't draw it often, but when I did, it won at least 75% of my games for me. It would usually happen around turn ten and I'd throw it down between two good sized 3 drops, or a good sized 3 and 2 with a dangerous power. That late in the game they would be low enough on health that they would end up going after the protected creatures first by running their creatures into them, but usually not having a spell answer after that to get rid of the Wee Spellstopper. What was even more awesome was that at that point I'd usually have Ragnaros in hand or would draw it the turn after playing the WS, so the WS would still be alive to protect Rag as well. The funny thing is that most of the time it was priests that ended up getting wrecked by this combo. Some rage quitting most likely because they had their mind control in hand but couldn't use it to steal Rag.
I think this card is espacially powerfull if combined with Kel'Thuzad and you position it right next to him and your big taunt that protects your minions: For example (in order of placement, from left to right): Kel'Thuzad - Wee Spellstopper - Sludge Belcher
could it possibly also work if it was a lot cheaper for the same effect ; and something like a 1/3 for 2 mana? (1 mana, despite being the same as the northshire, might be a bit too much) - that would allow it to be dropped on the same turn as a lot of other big, powerful creatures to protect them. Not sure though.
that depends on the stat of the game before hand. Also as a turn 10 play its not bad in Arena. Many of the best and most competitive constructed combos are never seen in arena. Having this combo just gives you a way to maintain a lead or to recover from being slightly behind. Its also no worse then what he said using boulder fist and spellstopper.
shuvo rahman Yes it is actually that'd be a huge play. Instead of only dealing 4 dmg it can deal potential 8 dmg. Unless he's destroyed on the board already that is. If the board is even that could turn the tides.
but from a losing position the Boulderfist ogre play is essentially useless because it can be completely ignored. Both plays hold merit and there are definitly far better plays for 10 mana but having this as an option is just another thing in your warchest.
Danlord GT why OP? plenty of removals are battlecrys anyway, who cares if you would wee tirion or ysera or boom, when they get owld or BGHd regardless?
Control decks automatically lose if you cover up a ysera or belcher. It would mean that they would all have to run at least 2 owls which is a crappy use of 2 card slots.
How did this video come to be? During a random arena match, Kripp decided to make a video about the first unreviewed GvG card that pops out of the Shredders. Turns it out Sky golem dropped a fairly obscure (read: useless) card, the Wee Spellstopper. How convenient. Now all that was left to do was slap on some intro commentary and a new upload was born.
You have to wonder what the "balance team" was thinking when they reviewed this minion alongside a couple other crappy minions introduced to this game. I can't remember which employee it was that wrote this on the forum, but to some extent they have team members who are responsible for ensuring a card is balanced. How do you design a card like this and honestly sit there saying "Yes this card is not only balanced, but presents something the players would want and use." It's basically one of those cards that you throw on the board and cross your fingers in the event you actually get use out of it for a single turn, and that's assuming your opponent would of had removal that was sufficient to remove whatever your trying to protect. Maybe Magma Rager can finally be protected? TURN 7 WOMBO COMBO. Take that Dr. Balance.
I think it's obvious by now that the "balance team" is us, the players. It's also obvious that the people that make these cards don't actually understand their own game. The players get stuck with garbage cards, and OP cards too, because Blizzard honestly doesn't have a clue what they are doing. All they know is people will whine and bitch and then they can nerf cards after the players have given their feedback. If there was a real balance team for hearthstone at Blizzard, cards like Wee Spellstopper wouldn't exist.
Dustin Cox Honestly, saying a team of senior designers and experienced ccg players doesn't have a clue what they're doing makes you sound even worse than the average dipshit that endlessly whines about balance on every blizzard forum in existence. Some cards appear bad until a use is found for them, and some are intentionally made to be bad. Its a standard practice in ccgs. The fact you're totally oblivious to this but still have the face to call the dev team clueless says a lot about you.
I usually use this card not to only guard the bigger creatures, but also, in early game, where I can bait my opponent into attacking a slightly weaker minion (wee spellstopper) while the others survive.
they should make wee have: battlecry: give ajecent minions: cant be attacked by spells or hero powers. this would make it more comparable to argus. only with different effect. This would make the card quite playable in constructed but if you CAN kill wee herself with a spell she is quite useless imho
i have faith in this card idea....only if blizzard would make it something along the lines of a 4 mana 2/5 "battlecry: give a friendly minion (cannot be targeted by spells or hero powers.)" and make the spellstopper it self have the effect as well... if you think that's too strong make the battlecry give a random friendly minion the effect
Spellstopper is actually fairly good with Molten Giants. I use her with the Molten Giants, Antonidas, and KT. It's a deck that focuses on duplicate and Echo of Medivh, so normally I can get some value out of it.
The "I didn't axe the cultmaster because then I die to 2 fireballs" thinking is what separates the normal players from the skilled players, I wish I could think about that many possibilities of the game.
I'm interested to see how good are the Hunter cards that people said "would change everything" like Steamweedle Sniper. I know "Feign Death" is pretty good, but what about Call Pet? Is Cobra Shot useful at all in some decks or arena?
Heyllo kripparian. have you thought about the mage deck with molten giants, called echo control mage ? this could be powerful with taunted moltens who cant be targeted

I think Spellstopper would be a lot better if it also gave minions taunt. That way you could put up some big taunts like Giants in Handlock and make them immune to spell removal.
i used spellstopper in my constructed deck. deck contains pain in the ass cards like deathlord, mad scientist, counterspell, spellbinder, spectral knight, sludge belcher etc. deck is not so powerful and you need to draw right cards in right place but it's quite funny to play with.
The card is an epic, so you almost never see her anyways in arena, so big whoop. I value her ability only marginally more than Ancient Mage's, which is to say I don't value either that much. I wouldn't be that happy to get either card, especially when my arena decks tend to have next to no fat minions anyways (unless I'm a Priest). I love the art on this card, but I don't like her voice, and I don't like playing Mage, so I'll probably never even get to try the card out in a Mage deck for quite a while.

Only time I see this card is when it pops out of Piloted Sky Golems. Kinda how I only see Malorne when a Webspinner poops him out.
And junkbot from Gazlowe. Who spawned from Sneed's Old Shredder.

How come people don't play Malorne? Seems like a decent card to put in your standard druid deck.

why in the world is this card mage specific?
Maybe because Rogues could abuse it with Master of Disguise cheese.
and although its a slow play, Druids could Dr. Balanced, innervate, spellstopper and that would be broken to say the least
Felipe Pinto
I sometimes wonder if Blizzard will release a card like this but instead of blocking spells, it stops you from targeting minions with battlecries. So BGH, ironbeak, and Black Knight counters. That would be really annoying.
