Yeah, Warlock is in a weird spot because of his Hero Power; ostensibly, Warlock class cards tend to be weak and/or have big drawbacks because Lifetap is such a powerful tool, but then decks just get made with powerful neutral cards like Giants that have more synergy with Lifetap than any of the class cards do. As a player this is fine and it's tended to work out, but from a design perspective I have to wonder if Blizzard will end up having to rework Warlock because Lifetap will just be generally better and better as more neutral cards are introduced into the game, and the only way to make Lifetapping bad is to encourage a super aggressive meta-game where every point of life matters (which is a thing that's existed; a lot of people don't like it, and Warlock still works out fine.) Again, to be clear, I'm not complaining or anything. Just musing about how Blizzard might deal with Warlock in the future.
My thoughts exactly. Even as the meta got more aggro focused, Handlock just made room for healbot, and still does fine. I play control and in the control vs control matchup handlock is super scary. Turn 4 8/8 or 4/10 is a massive play, and you draw two cards in the process. The closest I can think of is a turn 2 4/7 which a priest can do but it takes the coin and two cards. I'm not complaining either. I think handlock is a super cool deck, and the idea of spending early turns to do nothing but sacrifice health for card advantage into huge plays is a really cool mechanic, but warlock being so strong on both sides with zoolock and handlock that might make blizzard look into reworking life tap maybe making it cost three health. That would kill warlock with the amount of hunters there are in the meta, and I don't want to see the death of a class.
edward marshall I've thought a little bit about incrementing the cost of hero powers if played in succession. It's probably a terrible idea but would love to hear what other people think about it. You could do a few things like put a cap on the cost, and make locks stay at 2 mana but increase health lost each time it's used in a row.
One idea I've had is to make it so that you have to damage your own minions to draw cards instead of taking damage to your hero. In general, using your Hero Power is trading tempo for a bit of card advantage (using Fireblast as a Mage is basically paying 2 mana to draw+cast Moonfire.) Warlock just straight up gains actual card advantage, so I think it would be reasonable for him to have to weaken cards that he already has in play.
badr0b1nh00d Obviously we're talking about warlock here. Hero power makes other classes viable. With incrementing cost it would make druid and zoolock dominate. Handlock might work but priest and control mage will be finished. I'm not claiming to have the answer, but that's a new suggestion, and I like your out-of-the-box thinking. Actually it might balance zoolock in the late game. Could work but other classes that stay afloat with hero power like priestwould be finished. It's a good concept. forcing players to consider when and how often they use their hero power. Sadly I think hunters would still dominate the meta. With the synergy and useful deathrattles from nax.
the way I see it, warlock is the most flexible class in the game. It is able to dominate pretty much every metagame, and it's all because of lifetap. However, with undertaker being nerfed soon (yes, it was confirmed today), hearthstone will be very control-oriented, allowing for slower, more original decks to exist. Demonlock and Combo Shaman are only two examples of cool decks that work decently enough to see some play. Sure, they probably won't make it to legend, but less than 5% of hearthstone players have actually gone to legend.
It's a temporary cenarius if you get an implosion to stick, or just have a few demons on board in general. It's good to use as burst for lethal. If you just throw it onto an empty board it either gets BGH'd, taken by a priest, sniped by a Ragnaros, or your opponent gives up, which is the most unlikely option.
+superflyer28 I don't know about that spell card. Between choosing that or Demonfire, I'm gonna pick the latter. Besides, I'm already being punished with losing health, mana crystal, and discarding random cards from my hands in exchange to summon powerful demons that could be silenced, or destroyed by spell cards that has little cost and great effect. The last thing I need is to award my opponent with 1 extra mana crystal just to give my demon 3/3.
I think they could have kept the buff the same, but add "and deal 5 damage to your hero." Think of the floating watcher and molten giant synergy! YES! kappa
but i think it´s too much, it dies to a 1-drop now, they should have left the +1 +1 ability, but with undertaker starting at 1 health, that would be more interesting
Sergei Da Best no. the fact that it could grow to the point of the opponent needing hard removal or BGH is just stupid for a 1 drop. now it is like a micromachine which sees constructed play. and it SHOULD die to a 1 drop, it IS a 1 drop. god.
Kripp is such a good talker. He speaks clearly and explains things very well. It's very natural how he talks and doesn't seem written down or scripted, which is the reason I don't like to skipperino the kripperino.
Demon Card ideas 5 mana 3/7, Demons do not activate their battlecries. 3 mana 2/3 battlecry give 2/1 to a random demon in your hand. 7or8 mana 6/6 battlecry+Deathrattle summon a random demon. 2 mana 3/4 Discard the top card of your deck.
MrTrollaid well the 2nd shoulldnt be a 2/2 since shattered sun cleric is a 3/2 for +1/1. However her battlecry effects the board where as the second card is a bit slower due to it being a card in your hand. Its a class card so figured 2/2 might be to strong and warlocks tend to need more attack then health for minions so 2/1 would be helpful while still getting some board presence. Fairly weak 3 drop in my opinion.
Hey guys, I main demonlock My version is a midrangy one thats kinda like handlock. I build up a hand a just build up my hand so I have answers, and play out some drops From my experience, malganis isnt really meant to be combod with a full board of demons. Its nice when it happens, but usually youd only have one or two demons on the board. Having it come out of caller is quite often bad, especially when your opponent has mana, because the it gets removed However, my demonlock has lots of ways to bait out removal like doomguard, thaurrisen, boom, and more. When dropped safely, its insane. When not, you still force your opponent to answer it, making it quite strong against face. Its a fun deck that works
I use a Demon deck these days and I like it. It's a lot of fun but there's a little problem they should fix, it's kinda silly but there's a card called "Bane of Doom", which summons a "random demon" if it kills something... Yeah.. All fun and cute but, with GvG out now, it's kinda bugged... You cannot summon a random demon from GvG with it. It's like Blizzard forgot to change it so that you can summon ANY demons. You can only get "vanilla" demons... :/ Granted, nobody plays that card (beside me with my fun demon deck.) But still... You can't even summon Voidcaller, which was from Naxx! They should fix that. One more thing : You can't randomly summon Illidan, which is a demon... Why not? -_-
Kripp you completely overlooked Demonheart, which by itself makes most demons more than viable. Also a hand lock can run giants out before mal'ganis to draw the 2 big game hunters or other removal making it a viable threat. It's also a great delay card.
I play a general demon warlock deck and I find it to be great, demin handlock and demon zoo are no where near as good as just a demon based deck not focused on high or low minions such as the zoo/handlock I use things like demon fire and demon heart cause they can make stuff like mistress if pain insane, I can draw for days and heal it all up no problem, buffing a void caller also gives a pretty sick 3/5 taunt or 6/8 in some cases, its not a strict demon only deck but I do win most of my games that arent against hunter (so yes I know it doesnt fit the meta right now) but its really fun and still playable.
I always forget that Floating Watcher is from GvG because I have used it in my Warlock deck for so long. I think my first warlock deck included a Floating Watcher.
I play a Demolock WITHOUT Malganis. Because... Most of the time I gets BGH. If you're able to add in some spices such as owl, double hellfire, sunfuries, and a BGH, trust me, it works. I was actually inspired to make the deck after seeing a pitlock deck, which aims to get your health near to 0 then slam all moltens!!!! Of course you will have to get backed up by mistress then buff it and probably one more healbot.
Warlock opponents getting doomguards and Mal'Ganis out of voidcallers is one of my worst nightmares in Hearthstone. Thank goodness for these shenanigans being considered impractical.
I wonder what everyone thinks now in light of SilentStorm's success with his demonlock deck. Obviously that was a tournament so the viability of decks is different from the ladder, but it sure looked strong.
I've used a zoo-lock deck with demons and gone up to even rank 5. NO doomguards. the only demons i have where 2 voidcallers, Mal'ganis, illidan and one floating watcher. other changes where no owls or dire wolfs, add one spellbreaker, two eggs and two argent commanders. its weird, but works.
Voidcaller interact with the disadvantegeous battlecries by nullifying them and has the mana efficiency going for him, floating watcher interacts with Warlock's bad habit of cutting himself. Maybe the next try will be some interaction with discard (like a creature that buffs itself on discards or re-shuffle discardeds into decks). Hearthstone has explored too little of the realm of discarding so far.
GVG did plenty for constructed warlock. I never played warlock before gvg but now I have fun with it. For example there is Antique Healbot. Turn 4 pit lord into turn 5 doom guard is really strong I think.
Mal'Ganis was my first GvG legendary, i have tried to make it work but warlock deck keeps slipping back to Zoo or handlock. Wish i had Jaraxxus instead :D Still its funny shoving him into a Zoo deck for a surprise.
I think that Demons fits the most with the concept of a Warlock class. And its kinda funny how almost all of them have negative effects on you as well, that makes sence, if you think about it. At first I hated Warlock cause it looked like it is auto lose to play with this class that hurts himself with life tap and even his own minions. I wish there would be more synergy with demons. Sory for my english
Well now many people reck how powerful demonlock is. Its similiar to handlock but with insane burst dmg. Got Legend with it in february. It can deal with all classes at the moment.
Hey Guys, Ronzok here. gg Kripp. Tuck Fopdeck :/ And BGH out of TS was bad RNG i guess. Well, i think its a nice deck. I made it myself inspired by Athenes Demonlock.
If you are serious about the "better content" you want to provide (and it has improved a lot since you started the theme) i'd like to see you go with 1080p, (even 1080p 60)
As someone who piloted Demons to legend with an extremely high win rate (85%) with a very low number of games, I can definitively say that the reason demons aren't being played is people aren't using the correct lists. They play cards like implosion and giants and shit because they don't correctly identify the voidcaller as a midrange tempo card and the deck as a whole as a midrange tempo deck. The deck has an extremely positive win rate against aggro decks if you play it this way and the only bad control matchup it has is against fatigue and freeze mage.
Bro the key to daemon deck is succubus and the cards that deal damage to your self with watcher. She basicly negates the bad effects and lets you draw with out suffering loads of damage. It's a good deck just not used or made yet.
I seriously regret starting "skipperino Kripperino". Now, whenever I go into the comments section, I cringe when someone copy pastes my comment and substitutes the time at which Kripp stops talking. Also, 7:21 to not listen to kripp.
you rly think we need more love for warlock? I mean ok demon warlock would be cool, but at least warlock HAS some good decks like zoo and handlock. What about some love for shaman, priest, rogue, pala (is ok right now, could be more awesome) and warrior. I mean they nerfed warrior so that warsong commander does not trigger the second mech from harvest golem and it doesnt give bloodsail raider charge before it gets the buff from your weapon so what they basically did was to destroyed the only not-control-warrior out there. So warrior still has one op deck and thats it. Some other classes dont even have that one op deck in different variations. And warlock still has the most possible decks which are all not bad. Demons are cool. But i would much more prefer to see other classes get some synergy (and i don't mean like druid give them a no-brainer instant high damage combo, but make them more awesome in terms of improving their strengths and give them more themes).
The Warsong Commander not triggering is a confirmed bug. Warrior's one OP deck is basically the best on ladder right now, being able to stand up to Zoo and handlock. Look out for some really good cards being added to Shaman and Rogue in the next expansion.
not so sure about that "bug". It seems logically cuz the second mech from harvest golem is not played from your hand and should not get the charge i guess. Same for Bloodsail when it comes into play while you have a weapon it's technically not 3 or less attack, but in the old version the order of triggering was different. I would love if that is only a bug, cuz i don't like to play the op warrior for my daily quest stuff, but it seems to be the only warrior that is not awful. The deck i mentioned was fine, now with the new order of triggering its not good enough. I'm not sure if Blizz did that on purpose, but it wasn't necessary. It took away some diversity for the warrior class.
Punxsu It's definitely a bug, it just hasn't been ironed out yet because they had to change around a lot of interactions for GvG, resulting in the mentioned Warsong Commander bug popping up. From what I've heard it is a particularly troublesome bug. Anyway, there's still one more deck you can play that's not control warrior. This one: www.hearthpwn.com/decks/106438-razors-math-warrior-legend . You really need Grommash to play it, but The Black Knight and Ragnaros are nonessential, especially with all the BGHs in this meta.
the problem with viodcaller it always fucks me up by bringing out my lord juraxxus without its battle cry so im stuck with a 3/15 on the board.. that's good but i would rather be the actual card .-.
Kripparrian I dont personally own mal'ganis but I feel hes a very good card when it comes to clutch plays. Plays when its like you have to win this turn otherwise you lose. This has happened for me twice with the godly RNG from Bane of doom that has saved my ass plenty of times. I play handlock mostly so im not fully demon but actually playing mal ganis is kind of a waste as he costs 9 mana and he is really only that great for certain situations. Otherwise hes kinda weak if you just outright play him and you dont need his passives. He is a incredibly strong situational card.
I have actually done suprisingly well with mal'ganis. i first thought it's pure crap, but then i started to face situations where i barely managed to stabilize board but i had already taken so much dmg that fireball or even hunter's hero power was fatal. if i had either jaraxxus or mal'ganis in those cases victory could've been mine. So i crafted it and added voidcallers and doomguards to my deck and removed some handlock elements like other mountain giant and drakes. Suddenly I was in rank 5 and previously I couldn't even maintain rank 6. I'd say vc+dg won me more games than mal'ganis, but about 1/7 of my victories were solely achieved because of him. some huntard even popped my voidcaller to bm me even though he had lethal and conceded 2 second later when he saw mal'ganis. It's not greatest card and for pure handlocks it lacks synergy and for demonology it's too slow, but as i tried something in between it had just right amount of synergy: free life taps, attacking with invulnerable jaraxxus, boosted implosion (btw, this also makes imps to survive equality and consecrate) and just general face protection while i taunt molten giantis. I suggest giving it a shot, at least now when nobody expects him to appear, he gives you huge advantage when played correctly
I'm truly glad undertaker is getting nerfed (will no longer receive health), that said, I feel like hunter will just jump over to full beasts or full mechs and continue on the pounding. Hopefully this will even the odds though. I lost alot of cheap games to this card.
My name is Jori Pasterino, brother of eddi pasterino, and I seriously regret starting "skipperino Kripperino". Now, whenever I go into the comments section, I cringe when someone copy pastes my comment and substitutes the time at which Kripp stops talking. Please, no pasterino! Also, 7:22 to not listen to kripp.
you should see my demon masochist deck, I am perfectly fine takeing damage for a huge early game, so I ran some heals in it and the molten giant for a surprise 8/8
I hadn't played hearthstone in a few months, drafted a warlock arena deck with two watchers, and went five wins. I'd never gone past three wins before that, and I meow praise the watcher gods for carrying my shitty plays to victory
As much shit as Kripp gets for these "How good is/are **blank** " I really like them. Please, keep doing them as long as you have ideas!

Mal'Ganis is a 9/7 Taunt minion for 9 mana.
its bettter because of the +2/+2 and spells cant target you either
botezatu andrei Except it really isn't.
Alvanix
no, voidcaller is a 3/4 for 4 that summons a 9/7 taunt.

essentially it is. and a 9/7 for 9 with taunt is still bad. if it actually had taunt it would be even worse than it is now.
7:22 to skip kripp talking
you should said "skiperino kripperino"
Ted Bundy where did all the -ino come from?
Francisco Delledonne it is just making fun from Italian language I guess. Pepperinno italiano mama mia pizzerino no-hateino

Nocturus I guess I should have added kappa at the end
superflyer28 Kappa..People keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
+Nocturus after turn 10 it doesn't have a drawback.
This one ended on a superb play. Gotta love Kripp's style.
That "Yessssss!" is probably my favorite in-game soundbyte, now.
Guys undertaker gets nerfed!! Yesss!

haha, its true! us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/forum/topic/15700587539

Kripp, any chance we could get another demon cards review in light of the new Warlock DK reveal?
7:26 for gameplay
old skipperino kripperino
Skipperino before Skipperino was Coolerino
lol i forgot about this post
Demon Card ideas
5 mana 3/7, Demons do not activate their battlecries.
3 mana 2/3 battlecry give 2/1 to a random demon in your hand.
7or8 mana 6/6 battlecry+Deathrattle summon a random demon.
2 mana 3/4 Discard the top card of your deck.
Firs three is so good
Шизл манизл
glad you like the ideas mate.
For the same price and effects I would make the first one a 2/7 the second a 2/2 and the fourth a 3/3. But yeah, good ideas.
MrTrollaid well the 2nd shoulldnt be a 2/2 since shattered sun cleric is a 3/2 for +1/1. +Deep Singh Kripp is wrong very often
+Don Avan wasnt he one of people who said Dr. boom will suck?
Almechik Yup.
+Almechik No that was trump
Ieuan Hunt It was both of them, as well as almost every streamer.

I always forget that Floating Watcher is from GvG because I have used it in my Warlock deck for so long. I think my first warlock deck included a Floating Watcher.
what time to skipperoni maccaroni ?
I play a Demolock WITHOUT Malganis. Because... Most of the time I gets BGH. If you're able to add in some spices such as owl, double hellfire, sunfuries, and a BGH, trust me, it works.

With BGH so common for countering Dr Boom, has the use of Dr Boom dropped off at all?
Is there anyway to give mal'ganis stealth?
I play a "demon" handlock, with some unique things, and i'm rank 9 playing 5 games a day at MOST. It works well enough and it's fun to play !
Kripp, can u please make your videos 1080p ;> ?
kripp have you just never watched athene? he made a demon deck with sac pack doom guards, dreadinfernals and hit legend
Ever heard of 1080p Kripp?

That Jaraxxus Shadow Madness was awesome ^^
I play a midrange demon synergy heavy deck with mal'ganis, and in combination with voidcaller and void terror he does wonders.

How many actually did you count guys?
I have a question. If a voidcaller pulls jaraxus from your hand do you get his effect?
No

Watched the whole vid. Being surprised you didn't pick up on the Undertaker nerf. But hey: I'm surprised as well that Demon Lock isn't a common thing.
Could u do a review of the Amaz Death Knight class ahah
love demonlock, cant wait till we get some more cards to combo with it. ending to this video was pretty cool though :D
Well now many people reck how powerful demonlock is. Its similiar to handlock but with insane burst dmg. Got Legend with it in february. It can deal with all classes at the moment.
The question is, will Floating be played if Warlock had weapons? I think so
Jaraxxus has a weapon
DemonReno now is awesome one of the best decks if not the best
I dunno, I played against 2 demon synergy locks in a row last night around rank 5. It seemed like a kind of fun deck.
I was expecting a RUclips video of you watching you're own RUclips video and providing commentary from the stream last night. Missed opportunity
demon's should mainly have some sort debuff for enemy minions or non demon stuff
0:00 To listen to the advice of the master
Hey Guys, Ronzok here. gg Kripp. Tuck Fopdeck :/
And BGH out of TS was bad RNG i guess. Well, i think its a nice deck. I made it myself inspired by Athenes Demonlock.
Holy shit the chat must have been KreyGasm'ing when the Jaraxxus play happened.
Kripp joined the dark side
*muahahahaha*
The unseen kripp is the deadliest
Can we get the priest decklist pls :D
7:22 to Skipperino Kripperino.
Someone forgot the "Bane of Doom" swing when you summon a 5 mana Mal'Ganis and crush everything.
Wtaf was that last game? 30/30 minion sure why not
I think that Floating Watcher is the closest thing that Warlocks will get to Huge damage such as Pyroblast.
7:34 For Kripperino Skipperino Latinioro
7:22 skiperino kripperino
Care sharing the decklist?

something should be dr. boom but I don't have him
StaleMoves looks really interesting
[How good are] Kripp's videos?
Brilliant last play. Very good!
Bro the key to daemon deck is succubus and the cards that deal damage to your self with watcher. She basicly negates the bad effects and lets you draw with out suffering loads of damage. It's a good deck just not used or made yet.
If you build it right you can drop too 19 health on your own oponite never attacking you once and end the game with 30 health with extra heal.
you mean mistress of pain, not succubus :)
0:00 To hear Kripp talk.
I seriously regret starting "skipperino Kripperino". Now, whenever I go into the comments section, I cringe when someone copy pastes my comment and substitutes the time at which Kripp stops talking. Also, 7:21 to not listen to kripp.

No i started it.

whats a gvg?
Goblins vs gnomes the new HS expension
you rly think we need more love for warlock?
Priest is good, but i agree with the shaman and the paladin
Pally is the most overpowered class.
the problem with viodcaller it always fucks me up by bringing out my lord juraxxus without its battle cry so im stuck with a 3/15 on the board.. that's good but i would rather be the actual card .-.
oh hey that happened in the video.. hmm
Tech aaaaand it even lost him the game xD
Kripparrian I dont personally own mal'ganis but I feel hes a very good card when it comes to clutch plays. Plays when its like you have to win this turn otherwise you lose. This has happened for me twice with the godly RNG from Bane of doom that has saved my ass plenty of times. I play handlock mostly so im not fully demon but actually playing mal ganis is kind of a waste as he costs 9 mana and he is really only that great for certain situations. Otherwise hes kinda weak if you just outright play him and you dont need his passives. He is a incredibly strong situational card.
15:40 to Skipperino Kripperino
16:01 to skip the boring part
Haha good old Jaraxxus, Eredar Lord of the burning Legion
I have a good demon deck that works fine, and I'm not sharing it with anyone, so everybody can live in the illusion that demons don't work, CHEERS !
Why does Kripp only play against Chicken Rank players or rank 15 or normals....
He doesnt Care about his Rank, he Plays Arena Most of the Time
7:21 to skipperino kripperino
Try a undertaker Demonlock
I opened Mal'Ganis today, too bad warlock isn't that good.
Handlock is always one of the best decks in the meta and zoo is crazy powerful right now how are u gonna say that warlock isnt good
Let me word it another way.
Warlock isn't that good for people who don't have the means to make a handlock or zoolock
fma101092 true
...
fma101092 how can you not have the means to make a zoolock
0:26 actually actually actually
The big game hunter should switch places with Hemet Nesingwary.
re-review pls
I'm truly glad undertaker is getting nerfed (will no longer receive health), that said, I feel like hunter will just jump over to full beasts or full mechs and continue on the pounding. Hopefully this will even the odds though. I lost alot of cheap games to this card.
No comments? When did Kripp's subs start to listen to him talking?
My name is Jori Pasterino, brother of eddi pasterino, and I seriously regret starting "skipperino Kripperino". Now, whenever I go into the comments section, I cringe when someone copy pastes my comment and substitutes the time at which Kripp stops talking. Please, no pasterino! Also, 7:22 to not listen to kripp.
you should see my demon masochist deck, I am perfectly fine takeing damage for a huge early game, so I ran some heals in it and the molten giant for a surprise 8/8
Mal'Ganid: (4) _ (10), costs 8, so you can tap in the same turn
I hadn't played hearthstone in a few months, drafted a warlock arena deck with two watchers, and went five wins. I'd never gone past three wins before that, and I meow praise the watcher gods for carrying my shitty plays to victory
s0denone someone's got dick envy.
Thanks bb, luv u 2
Best Mal'ganis use; Summon Mal'ganis and stealth it
not much people play demon decks because they are expensive, you have to buy naxx too
athene god legend with his demos deck. I guess it's pretty decent.
Improve Illidan by a lot, and I'll be happy enough.
