sollund123 buffing boulderfist stats would only nerf the minion.. 6/7 is such a golden stat line.. and its better not missing 50% of the time

why 6 mana for 5 wisps when you can plan 5 wisps for zero mana?

2 reasons why dark wispers shouldn't be at 5 mana: 1) If is costs 5 you can summon the 5 wisps and then play sea giant - in that case you would have played it for 0 mana, because you save the 5 mana when you Play sea giant. 2) If it costs 5 mana, you can Combo it with Frostwolf Warlord to get a 9/9 without much effort.
Probably there are other plays, that I've missed, but I guess they've playtested it at 5 and then decided to put it at 6 mana.
+Ryan Ash Play it with frostwolf and its a worse onyxia, and with sea giant it being 0 or 1 mana effectively isnt that big of a difference. Of course, the card would get a lot better as 5 mana, but nothing broken. 1 reason why its not 5 mana is just that blizzard is bad at balancing.
The best thing about Druid of the Claw and Lore is that you can always choose exactly what you need in that moment. With Dark Whispers all you can do is hope that your opponent cannot counter your choice, but both options can be countered easily.
Kripp get's salty when the opponent top decks Swipe, but when he top decks Frost Elemental as soon as the opponent plays an 8 drop it's all fine...
Dark whisper + soul of the forest + poison seeds + kel'thuzad + cenarius. Game over.

i think the best play in the end was to swipe de archmage into pasive to the argent squire, so then u would get a 50/50 to kill your opponent, and in the case that it fails you clear the board and still have a 9-3 with taunt on it, making him almost imposible to come back with no cards in hand

Correction: How *Bad is Dark Wispers?
One correction - Playing this card on a minion to have it kill two boulderfist ogres would actually be a 2 for 2 trade. You still break even. Your minion would have to kill at least 3 other minions before you start to get card advantage.
This card is fine in constructed and has won me several games. Play it on an echoing ooze. Worst case scenario they silence one of them and black knight the other, but they aren't BGH targets. You can also use it as a buff on a big creature that lives a turn, since you've tested for BGH at that point. I've had a Dr. Boom actually survive without getting BGH'd (very rare occurence-- I think Blizzard released a new card called Sense Big Game Hunters but I haven't opened it in a pack myself yet). Put the buff on it and force a BGH topdeck, assuming swinging in with deathwing doesn't just kill them outright at that point. I do wish it was 5 mana and no option, because I've never summoned the wisps and I will never have a reason to do so.

That play at the end.. you could have just swiped the Archmage and heropowered the taunt, leaving the opponents board with nothing but a Kodo, making that 50-50 into either a boardclear or a straight out win while minimizing the potential damage the ogre would take in the worst case scenario that it missed face..
my thoughts exactly, but Kripp isnt that kind of player, he likes to min-maxing his card and then when it failed he gets salty, blaming all RNG and the game itself.
Nicholas Ramli 2/3 are really good odds, plus if the opponent drew some crazy legendary he could easily have lost the game. So by playing safe you will often lose at higher arena wins by being too slow.

Markus H BurNIng is a pro dota player. One of the most famous Chinese players. One hero (anti-mage) could have BurNIng as alternative name in DotA1 when you picked him because of BurNIngs amazing plays on that hero during DotA1 tournaments. That's how famous he is.
DK = the team BurNIng was on for most of his DotA2 carreer.

that miss play at the end... the best play would've been swapping 4/4 and hero power 2/1 taunt. Making it 50/50 chance of killing 3/4 or his face. instead of making it 25% and also, sure, druid of the claw, but it was clearly not going to be lethal.
FailFish Kripp already had 50% chance to win there when he attacked the 2/1 taunt and if ogre missed (and it did) he would get additional 33%.

Jiyong Han He swiped face so that if the Ogre hit the taunt he would have lethal with Druid of the claw. Ur so dumb. That's why it's a higher chance. It has a chance for lethal by both hitting face 12.5% (50% miss times 25% hit face) or hitting the taunt 50% Think it through before u go "IM RIGHT" mode. Dumbfuck.

I used the whisp effect with the thing that makes em all 2/2 treants...my opponent really had no answer. Savage roar=win. But that's highly situational :3
Dark Wispers (5 Wisps) + Poison Seeds is quite lethal if the enemy bored is flooded with late game.
Dark Wispers + Poison Seeds can be a good combo in late game against big minions. You reset the board and now have a minion advantage.
Darkwhispers + Windfury harpy is sick in Arena. No one ever expects it

I like the 5 wisps combo with soul of the forest.
Here's a nice combo for this card:
Double Knife Juggler -> Dark Whispers -> innervate -> Power of the Wild
But it's extremely situational, best used when you have an empty board and the opponent has some creatures.
wisps don't have charge so the innervate seems useless

If your opponent has "some creatures" in the late game and you got nothing.. You lost
its 12 mana combo, even though it has innervate and make so much sense consecration, flamestrike/blizzard, thalnos - FoK, lightning storm, holy nova, unleash the skill, thalnos + swipe, hellfire, brawl/thalnos-whirlwind, will wreck your unborn grandson. + you need your board to be completely empty to make it not lose value, and there you go, i just mention how each class can deal with this 12 mana combo. even wild pyro with 2 spells ( with GvG released spells are more common from spareparts ) will do it. Shaman's KT, reincarnate, ancestral healing have more sturdier board to handle to.
I was so excited when I got this card from random pack, instantly included in my deck, dropped all these wisps immediately when I could to see how cool it looks and... didn't pay attention that I was playing against huntard who unleashed the hounds right after that... Such a huge fail :((
Dark wispers into poison seed is a nice combo tho, or double power of the wild on them. 10 mana summon 5 3/3's, discard 2 cards basically.

hm. i think there is diversity in constructed druid. sure only two decks, the midrange/combo/token deck and ramp/control decks. but there is a lot of variance between each deck, depending on preference.
Dark Wispers, Soul of the forest combo is kinda good.

The only thing I don't agree with is "taunting up before they expect". Well they have always and still do get taunts up earlier with innervate. And it's hardly a "surprise" when it happens that they have an ironbark on turn 6.
I use one. it combos insanely with soul of the forest
5 simple steps to instantly win a game:
1: Go second (Get coin)
2: Wait till turn 6
3: Play dark whispers to summon 5 wisps
4: Pray your enemy doesn't have concencrate or something like that
5: Double savage roar coin hero power for instant 30 damage :3

I just had this show up in my arena as druid in a pick vs spelleater and skygolem. I got super lucky and picked up cenarius as a legendary. So it might make for an awkward win condition if they don't have the clear for my board or choose to ignore them. Here goes!
HOLY SHIT. Most epic game I've had yet. Opponent's Sneed's gave majordomo, so I used jungle moonkin and starfall to one-shot it. Next turn I used dark whispers into poison seeds to win the game!
dark wispers+ soul of the forest turn 10 play ( turn 8 with innervate, into turn 9 FoN Savage) seems quite strong
using dark whispers on echoing ooze gives you two 6/7 seems decent can't be big gamed and they would need 2 silences

Not all of the Choose One Druid cards have options that are viable for the mana cost: Starfall and Mark of Nature are down there with Dark Wispers when it comes to poor effects for the cost.

no no. starfall is okay because sometimes you just really need the single target removal. it's usually not good because of the 5 cost, but it's not unviable to use that. same with mark of nature. maybe you really need to get rid of something huge.
dark wispers is totally questionable because the wisps don't really do anything when they come into play unless you knife juggler it (OR unless you cult master pyromancer combo it which is insane) but i can't see it never happening. ancient of war is pretty shit though i've never seen any situation where the 5 attack would be better. but, hey, at least you have the option instead of no option.
Hey wouldn't this go well with the deathrattle each creature to turn into a 2/2 ent as a turn 10 combo? They're like reverse harvest golems.
I love dark wispers! It's so underrated
Swipe archmage, hero power 2/1 taunt. Ogre versus face or Kodo, a 50/50 that requires him to top deck an equality, hammer of wrath or a charger. Leaving the kodo and archmage alive gives the paladin more options.

Acolyte of pain is by far the best wispers target. 6/8 cant be BGH'd and you draw when it takes damage so, which can be a lot sine it has taunt.
Krip your ogre always has 50% chance to hit what you target, so if there are 5 enemy creatures on the board and you target opponents face: 50% you will hit face, and the otehr 50% is spread around the other 5 creatures, 10% for one 10% for other 10% for othe and so on.
Kripp can you try the Darkest Dungeon and tell us what ya think? It looks absolutely amazing. If anyone else knows about this game help me reach out to this card fanatic XD

I always summon this wisps, then use Soul of the Forest (give all your minions deathrattle summon 2/2 treants.
The card would be epic, if it would work with Hobgoblin.

I can't agree about the +5/5 effect... Putting that onto a 4/5 windfury or a 1/4 windfury all of a sudden becomes a terror.... It's a win condition imo

TL;DL: The +5/5 Taunt is worse than Mark of the Wild in constructed and the wisps aren't quite good enough for constructed combos compared to Force + Savage Combo. In Arena the +5/5 Taunt can get a lot of value from things like surprise factor and lack of answers to big minions, and helps to get value out of small creatures late game.

Why didn't you swipe the archemage and hero power the taunt and then attack with ogre?
at 6 mana it does not see constructed play, but i feel at 5 it would be almost too good.
Wisp is the kuriboh of Hearthstone.
I wonder if Wisp would be played if it was the only card that you could have more than 2 in a deck (not counting arena). Perhaps it would even be broken/overpowered.
I imagine a 20+ Wisp deck could be funny, and open to a bunch of stupid combos. The only problem is have no more cards after Turn 1, Then drawing more wisps every turn.

Got to rank 3 running this with combo druid. I would say its pretty damn good. Wait till they play aoe spells (Conc, skillstrike etc) then whispers + call of wild. follow that up with with cenarius on turn 9 or even double savage.
TheZombieMasta you can reach rank 3 with a lot of decks... doesn't indicate strength.
I use it to summon 5 wisps then power of wild twice on turn 10. Then if they don't kill it I savage roar and put down stormwind then I basically win

The only good use of Dark Wispers I found in constructed is with Echoing Ooze. Doesn't get big gamed and doesn't get 2-for-1 either.

Nope, no damage dealt from Dark Wisper.
I think he means +5/5 and spell damage.
***** That effect is kinda pointless considering bonus spell damage has very little use on druid spells, which is mostly buffs and burst damage from minions. I think only one spell will benefit greatly from this effect which is Starfall but if that is the case, normal spell damage minion is better.

That last play was bad. I would of swipe the Mage and heroe power the taunt. It's a much safer play.
