Would be great to see a video of the re sealing process as well. Can't tell if my rear sliding window or my xtra cab glass is leaking. No garage to use so I'd have to do everything on a sunny day. Thanks for the removal video
Thanks for the tips, about to pop my old slider outta my first gen Tacoma S.A.Swap, snapped the slider window, ordered the aftermarket replacement, looks pretty good 👍 hopefully goes🤞in window a battle? Gonna find out soon?
And do you think i can use the rope install trick? Looks like it will work to me? But what do I know? Im a former now reformed (What was i thinking?) Jeep yoyo 😅 Would appreciate your input?
I've heard of people using the rope trick on these windows. I think it would work for you. Glad to hear you saw the Toyota light... no ducks on our dashes ;)
It's been a few years, I can't remember if I cut myself or not. But you're a vampire so you probably spot that easily in the video. Do vampires even use bandaids when they get a cut or do they just suck their own blood, like a free snack?
Man that is the hard way. Use thin rope trick :) once its past from inside to the outside just pull and all that rubber will peel and glass out :) wrap string on the rubber again to reinstall. Little lube helps out too.
@@dannysmith9009 tuck the rubber in a few inches and then use the rope and a large tie wrap or whatever you have just to get the rope past the rubber seal and pull away inward to get the rubber to fold and tuck. Might need to help it get started and it will tuck in as you pull. Do not forget to lube or use soapy mixture for ease of removal.
@@6thGearGarage nice video, i have a question, is it possible to remove all rear wall to create more room adding the pickup cap with the back seats removed too?
UPDATE: This is waaaay too much work. Go around the gasket inside and out with a plastic tool to loosen the gasket from the paint. Get a small pump bottle and put some dish soap in it. On the inside squeeze some soap between the gasket and the cab. run you finger down the gasket to ensure there is soap all the way across the top and down the corners some. Start pushing in one of the corners and the glass will come out really quick. Took my slider out of my x-tra cab in about 2 minutes by myself.
I cringe everytime i see metal tools used thats why there is plastic ones made not to damage the body edge of course with this project the truck is going to the junk yard i just hope my rear window never needs replaced on my 3rd gen toy..

Back glass is definitely leaking, can't get replacement rubber seal from Toyota. Has anyone figured out a good way to re seal these?
BRAVO!! Best video to explain and demonstrate how to do it!!! Thank you!!!

@@سهمالهاجري The rear wall is attached to the body and would have to be cut out
Thanks allot mate, good one, cheers, and stay safe.

I have 3 sliding rear windows for these truck I pulled from pull a part
I need one
@@georgieats I still have them too for single cab
is rag cab rear glass the same As a exd cab???
No, Xtra cab rear glass is about 2” taller
If you’re going to replace the gasket, couldn’t you just cut it with a razor from the inside?
You could, but then a new gasket is $60. The original is made to be reused, so I try not to damage it.
@ thank you. I broke the double slider and have to replace with aftermarket. I need a new gasket anyways.
@@mcdouche2 When shopping, be sure to get the correct size... xtra cab and standard cab use different sizes.

Wouldn't happen to have the dashboard with no cracks would you?
The dash board was full of cracks :(
That seems to be the condition they all are in. Thanks though. Awesome video!

I've bought some plastic ones since this video - especially useful on interior parts.
