It's an older video, but still helped me and my son replace a window in a 1989 Toyota pickup. Actual video of the cord trick is so much easier to understand than trying to figure out what a written description is describing. Thanks and well done!

Brad, thank you for the clear instructive video and especially the advice about trying it again if first you don't succeed. I just installed a new sliding rear window and seal in the restoration of an '83 f150 Flareside. Doing it by myself was not easy, especially at 80 yo. The first try I couldn't get the seal, but the second time was a charm.

I just wanted it done before winter and I’m by myself so I ended up getting a new slider and gasket installed on my 83 f150. It still leaks. I had a 4 piece vented slider but the glass shop replaced it with a 3 piece. Does that matter?
Also,I got a new cab light, before I put it on I covered the hole to make sure that wasn’t where the leak was coming from.

I see these type of installs posted often. Does no one use any type on sealants? If you notice on the top of the truck above the drivers window is the seam that leads down to the back glass. Water will run down there behind the rubber and settle inside the rubber gasket. Over time the rust will occur. Usually at the bottom of the gasket on the left and right corners.
It would seem to me a sealer would address this problem..

I have a 1987 F150 with a sliding rear window. I have to replace the sliding windows and have been trying to figure out how to get the old ones out. Seeing this video, I think I have to use your technique shown here to remove the window completely. That will allow me to remove the old sliding windows and install the new one.

I watched ur video because I had a huge limb fall on my 2000 Cadillac Seville and it shattered the glass. I tried getting the seal out but it was ruined. I went to the junk yard to get a new back window and I tried to save that seal as well but it also got ripped up and to destroyed to salvage. I was able to get the window out and I got the window installed onto my car but I have no rubber seal that goes around the window. Where can I order a new one? I called my local Cadillac dealer but they said they couldn’t order that for a car as old as mine.
