But there was none from the factory. I wouldn’t force with the repair without the primer. Just new butyl. I cleaned it up well first with alcohol. It looks like the window window had been replaced before with our TV. It left almost no residue behind fortunately
You lost me when you said you didn't know where to get it You get it from your supplier but yet you didn't mention who your supplier is like we can't get it from your supplier. I don't know about you lol
Seriously, thank you for a genuine, to the point instruction video.
Wonderful video ,you save my day and my pocket ,I appreciate your time and explanations about how to do this task ,thanks so much buddy...
Good, hands on, instructions. Clearly this guy is good with auto widows!
I’ve put them in with just cleaning the surface with lacquer thinner, works fine with that 3m weld ribbon
Any auto parts store will have the butyl tape and probably the primer as well
Very good explanation you gave. Thanks
How tight do you get the screws to avoid bowing or cracking the window when you reinstall?
My 1996 Mazda b2300, supercab with slider was just like this. By the way, don't step in the butyl tape!
Solid video
Is there a necessary butyl tape thickness??
I wonder what the purpose of the primer is? I don’t have any rust on my vehicle I feel like I could go without it.
Primer is a cleaner that preps the areas where the butyl goes.

What is the name of the glue?
Great Video, while waiting at a Chevy dealer lol
What primer do you use ?
Like I said in the video I'm not sure what it is,we get from our supplier
93 to 97 are different. They are a one piece rubber molding. 98 and up are like this
Thank you for the information
Nice, thanks. probably could use urathane instead of the butle
Could you use a sealant instead of the tape?
You could but this is what they use from the factory and works well
@@fabricobblegarage2828 thanks
I just bought some butyl tape I can't seem to find the primer would it be fine without it?
Make sure to clean really good around where the butyl goes with alcohol and let dry before installing the butyl.
