Dwight only talked about the L.A. lifestyle asking Kobe to hook him up with different Hollywood connects stuff like that. Jalen Rose said as soon as Kobe hung up the phone, he immediately. said man this shit ain't gonna work..
Dwight wasn't focused on the championship and Kobe knew it which probably was the reason he was so tough with Dwight when his back was injured during the season, eventually ending when Dwight Howard chose to not resign with the Lakers at the end of the season. i give dwight props for admitting that. Kobe was like MJ in their competitive nature. Kobe got into it with Shaq too since Shaq was lazy. He drove teammates just like MJ did. Dwight on the other hand was more about having fun while playing the game. I don't blame Dwight as much as other people since he still tried to win and did what he could every game. Most people don't have that fire MJ and Kobe did which is what made them so great.

Plus at that point of his career . Shaq wasn’t the same player he once was . I’m talking about the year Howard came to the lakers. We forget shaq is a little older then both players . Especially Howard . So he was pasted his prime by the time Kobe was trying to grab another ring or two .

But he won the rebounding title with a torn labrum. He wasnt soft. Kobe wanted him yo be like Shaq and he wasn’t. He is different. Howard was still dominant. And he came back early from rehabbing his injured back to play with Kobe. Steve Nash getting hurt screwed their chances. Also they lacked depth.
Dwight Howard was used a a scapegoat for that team not succeeding.
