I saw that Achilles tear moment live... I was flabbergasted, it was the most inspirational thing I have ever witnessed. People DO NOT WALK after tearing the Achilles. There is no tension on the back part of your leg. It would feel like the back part of your leg is on the ground... for him to put mind over matter... that was something to behold. I mean, a dislocated finger happens. Many people have popped it back in and played on... but a tore Achilles usually calls for a stretcher/ cart to move them... it was like watching Jesus walk on water... almost.

I started watching basketball because of Kobe. Just a 13 year old flipping through the channels and seeing him and Shaq going off in the 2000 NBA finals vs the Pacers. It wasn't until 6 months later I saw videos of Jordan and the Bulls win 6 consecutive titles with two 3 peats. Although that was very impressive, I always thought Kobe was my generations Jordan. I was a young chubby teenager before I got on a basketball court and tried to duplicate his moves, lost weight and became "Baby Kobe" by my peers because I played just like him. I even had the mamba mentality when it came down to the clutch along with the "must win attitude. He is the reason I put my playstation controller down, got off my fat ass and laced up a pair of nikes to play basketball. Just developing a passion for the game and being competitive helped me apply that towards my everyday life as an adult. Im 35 now with a wife, 3 daughters and son and they've watched me cheer Kobe on all the way to his very last game. They've even seen me break down when he passed because it felt like I lost a big brother that showed me alot over the years on and off the court. While people til this day debate who is or was the goat between, Jordan, Kobe or Lebron, my goat is the man that impacted my life the most and that will always be Kobe. #mamba4ever

I heard a story about Kobe at six yo in Italy
He entered the game and scored 6 straight points in a few minutes
He literally stopped everyone from touching the ball
Score the point full court press on the point guard steal and score again
Literally everyone from both team couldn't play because he was already winning without needing any help 1 vs 5
The coach was forced by the angry parents of both team to bench Kobe for the rest of the game
And Lil mamba cried on the bench the rest of the game
In an Italian interview he spoke
To be not good but to be the greatest you need to sacrifice
Friends asked me let's go to this party nope gotta have shooting practice

One thing I respected about Kobe is that he played his heart out to the very end of his career. There’s not too many NBA legends I can say that’s done the same. Long Live The Mamba

I think only him and MJ had that mentality. The will to win at all costs, to be obsessed with winning, can't teach it, it's something you build up yourself

    • @leoh6742
      @leoh6742 3 года назад +5

BS. People that think those work ethics can't be taught end up being parents who let their kids do whatever or have whatever they want.

    • @TrillMatic187

@@leoh6742 parents? That has nothing to do with it. Kobe's parents practically disowned him even after winning a championship. The work ethics and the mindset of Kobe can be taught. But within yourself, nobody else can teach other about that. Obviously this went way over your head.

@@TrillMatic187 Your post says his mindset is literally something nobody can ever teach. And then your comment says his mindset and work ethics can be taught. I think there's a few things going over your head too.

Seeing Kobe walk off the court with a torn Achilles… goosebumps man.
Honestly, as crazy as it sounds… he’s soo underrated!!
