I'm Irish and I have travelled to England several times, I think its a beautiful country, I was over there just a couple of weeks ago, I find it still has it's own identity while I find most other countries are becoming more americanised.
What I do find is that British people don't seem to appreciate (I'm talking in general) what is right on their door step .
Iv relatives and friends who live there and I always get the feeling they are dreaming of far off places and not appreciating how beautiful Britain is.

It honestly seems so stressful owning an electric car. My theory is that it gives the Earth extra years by taking years off electric car owners!

Hi Lee (fellow Dumbrian (1971-Keswick) - living down south) - exactly the same conclusion with an EV! - locally great (EDF overnight cheap 4.5pkW), but anything else where I need to travel more than 100miles a day its a complete shambles (albeit certain operators are better than others, instavlot is a thumbs up). Hi Lee
    Great trip - well done.
I worked as a courier for a period of time, often ending up in Cornwall. I ended up having pasties from various places. In essence they are a dry product and my understanding is that they usually do not include gravy. The secret is that you need a mayo or tomato 🍅 sauce dip.
In relation to charging, at least it should end the problem with motorists falling asleep at the wheel. There is plenty of time to sleep whilst charging 😴 😃👍

    Had this at Scarborough.
Lifeboat Fish and chips shop had a five star review, that's why I went there.
    Absolutely crap.
Greasy fish was dry and tasted burnt.
I gave it 3 stars that was being generous.
Like you say people who give five stars honestly haven't tasted great fish and chips.
    Another great Video fella.

It is good that you are bringing attention to the day to day challenges of owning an electric vehicle. The key problem, as you have pointed out many times, lies with charging but they are developing lithium air batteries now which will potentially give 1000 + miles per charge that is a game changer but it will take some time before they are available in mass production. I think you should sell your Taycan and get a massive S class Benz 🙂 on the food Pasty 3/10 and FnC 5/10

What a shame about the Pasty, not going to lie as a cornishman, that's disappointing. But A a good pasty is worth its weight in salt. Those sort of stalls are never the best. Next time in Cornwall, theres a few places to try one from.
    Malcom Barnicuts,
    Gear Farm
    Philps
Three of my favs. These pasties, will have has much more succulent meat and veg, and isnt dry. Hopefully you get to return and try a proper pasty.
For the best fish and chips in cornwall, visit somewhere like St Ives or Looe. My personal favourite is The Catch in Looe. The shop is on the end of the fish market... so the fish travels a few yards from market to fryer. It's the best and most fresh fish youll find.
Also, hope you are recovering well Lee. Take care.

Lewis's Fish AND Chips that is only 2 minutes down the Rd from there in Newlyn, is far better than that rubbish. Fish is always fresh and they serve what is caught that day. Never had the curry or peas there but the Fish and Chips are outstanding. Only down point are the staff are sometimes rude which is typical of the Cornish but there is always a queue and people still still go back just for the food.
Cod & Medium Chips was £10 and I think the curry sauce, mushy peas were £1 ea, back in 2022 when I was there.

Dear Lee, I don't like fish so much😬But...you show it in an nice way! My question: Are you going to shoot videos again in the Canary Islands (I am probably the first one with that question😁) or other warm places that are not too far away like America for example? I really hope so! Of course, there are currently many vloggers on the road...especially on Tenerife. But no one can do it as well as you. I wish the old vlogs were back...walking the seafront looking for a 1 euro pint with funny comments and tips. It's not the same when others film them walking around saying nothing (with, in some cases, inappropriate music) or driving around in their cars. Show us restaurants or (I wish) different hotels and excursions, maybe with your friends too! This has always helped me through the winter and when choosing my next travel destination...and amused too. Of course, not everyone has the same tastes and different interests, but I would love to see more holiday destinations in Europe. Warm greetings from Germany...and onwards!

I hate it when they take the skin off. It overloads the fish with fat in some cases, its easier to give any white fish without you knowing and I don't think it tastes as good. I was suprised the skin was still on as I live on the boarder of Devon and Cornwall and many places take the skin off. I come from the North and when I was growing up all the fish had skin on and I'd never seen it without until I moved here twenty years ago. In general I find they can do many things well in the South West but I still prefer Fish and Chips from the North. There are exceptions, I had some fish and chips at Lostwithiel once and they were great, I then discoverd the fryer was from Sheffield!

Just for fun … google pastys in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Cornish tin miners came to the UP in the mid 1800’s and taught the Fins and Italians to make pastys. Also how to be miners in the copper and iron mines 😂. When I lived there a few restaurants and bakeries made good ones but the best come from someone’s home kitchen.

I agree, the chips were the best part of this. I’ve never seen a chippy curry sauce as dark as that lol. Not enough fish in that haddock. I love the crunchy batter and the skin but a lot of fish shops these days they slice the fish in half, as you’ve said a number of times before. A con really as you’re not getting what you pay for, especially at £14. As for that pasty, thy is not a proper Cornish pasty. Couldn’t believe it was 6 quid. You could probably get a Ginsters from a supermarket for under £2 and would probably be nicer🤣😂. 6/10 for the fish and chips and 1/10 for the pasty. Loved your vids tonight buddy as always and will catch up up on some more tomorrow 👍

I think the main problem with EVs at the moment is that there is no public charging infrastructure. They need to remove all the slow chargers (These are pointless) and put in only fast chargers and in more locations. When we have as many fast charging stations as petrol stations things will be better. Enjoying all your videos by the way.

Another nice video, I enjoyed. First of all the pasty at the charging station was bloody awful, I immediately said it looked very dry, then you said it also, a Ginsters pasty is Michelin starred in comparison to that. I loved the hotel room, it looked very cosy. I don't know how that chip shop in Penzance got an award for its fish and chips. To me they didn't look good at all, the peas looked really poorly. I don't like curry but I've never seen curry that colour in my life, and the fish looked too heavily battered to me, crispy it may have been, but was it light ... it didn't look it, and skin on the fush, The chips looked average to me, I've seen much better many times. I gave the Stroud place a 6/10 yesterday, but this effort today only gets a 4 and that's being generous.
P.s. So no video of the section of the trip between Tebay and Stroud then. Ok, unless I've missed something. Hey ho.

"If required, a battery charge of 100% can be programmed before starting long journeys."
    Taycan - Driver’s Manual
Shame this is some time ago, otherwise, I'd warn you not to have an ice cream walking along the front in St Ives...Artist's Residence was on 'Four in a Bed' in 2013, and not cheap... Laserdiscs were very popular in Taiwan in the 90s -- and most people had a kip at their desks for lunch, they even downed the lights in the office! Title. Watch the seagulls.🐦🐧
Maclee another fun video. The hotel room lovely. Why won't you have time for a relaxing bath. With all those bath products. Fish and chips🐟.from your comments. I also mark 6 out of 10. Also your windscreen all you need is a bottle of water and throw on the mess. Finally, brave man eating fish and chips outside near the sea. I was worried the seagulls were going to attack you and fly of with the box.
    Have a good rest.🍺👍

Weymouth does have some decent chippies, Marlboro is good, but I think Bennett's just about top them. My Mum swears by Fish and Fritz, but I'm yet to try them myself.

Can you make it to Lands End from Penzance in one EV trip lol. Just seems so stressful worrying about where you need to charge up all the time. Another awesome video mate.

Watching an expensive electic car or Porsche being driven so slow on a motorway that the Nissan Micra is in another league........priceless.

Hi Lee. I've stayed at the same Premier Inn and they do good food . If you go again put your car on charge at tesco. Its just round the corner and there isn't a time limit . Great road trip and I feel the pain, as own a corsa e with only 180 mile range

I'm just a year older than you so been in my fair share of chippy's over the years, sadly still never been as of yet BUT so many people have said you get the best fish & chips in Whitby.
You've got a lot more hair than me btw.
    Thanks again fella.

Highlanes in Hayle for fish and chips. Philps in Hayle for pasties but the small shop/ bakery near the duck pond make the best ones in my opinion. Never beeen dissapointed with a pasty bought from there.

Bet your glad to be back down south in the nice hot weather. When you spend time up the very north you do realise the weather is hard to get used to if your not from there.

I was expecting a better score Lee but your right i would say 6-7 ...That room your staying in looked amazing all the reclaimed timber and massive bath ..One of my telephones would have looked good in there lol ....Now on to the car one thing is it looks awesome and if the car will charge in 15 mins. can you blame the car or the charging points ?...You looked warmer in it then that pastie when the sun was out lol ....I think Devonshire pasties have the crust to the side and Cornish ones have the crust to the top i think lol

If you were looking for a Porsche dealer there was one just off the M5 in Bristol. One and only time I’ve been in Bristol there were loads of car dealerships close to the M5. There’s also a Porsche dealership in Exeter.

Couldn't agree more on the fish and chips. I have been going there for 20 years since I was a kid and it was called something else. They were never great but since it had become Fraisers it's consistently just as you've reviewed. I am assuming the tourists are voting on the pleasant views not the food! :) Keep up the good work.

I have to say, Lee, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you journey with your 'milk float'. Usually, I watch these on my mobile propping up a bar in Tazacorte, La Palma (La Isla Bonita) in the Canaries where I now live.
    Three comments:
Going to Cornwall and buy a Cornish Pasty in Devon! - Asking for trouble. When they said it was the oldest pasty maker, but the look of it you had one of the first ones they produced!
I see from the news a Chinese company is going to install 2,000 fast chargers in the UK. We will see. I also see that the charging companies are being targeted by hackers threatening to to shut down the networks that exist.
EVs may work.on a small island like mine, but in UK.....NO.
