The ability of water to always find its level is NOT a 'conspiracy theory', it is a practically demonstrable, repeatable and verifiable scientific fact, and objective reality with tangible substance. Bodies of water, ie. ponds, lakes, oceans, CANNOT hold permanent convexity across their surface. Bodies of water CANNOT conform to the exterior of shapes. When there is the very slightest of inclinations to the surface of a body of water it will always flow and find its level, in a horizontal straight line from the starting point to the end point regardless of distance. Supposed curvature has NEVER been measured. The Earth is demonstrably level.
Regarding the impossible reference frame known as the 'vacuum of space', nature abhors a vacuum. It is impossible to have the Earth's pressurised gaseous system coexisting directly next to a vacuum without a physical solid barrier separating them, it would want to equilibrate, the Earth's pressurised gaseous system would need a physical solid barrier to contain it... scientific fact.

@@jameschambers6975 Think of the globe, not as a ball with velcro on it, but as a massive globule of all the molecules from outer space attracted together by a force, which causes the densest matter to be attracted toward its center of mass & the less dense fluid liquids & gases to separate & find their own density levels on the surface, with water cycling between existing as liquid, vapor & frozen solid dependant upon its temperature & surrounding air pressure.
No doubt you're already aware of these 3 states of water & the water cycle that enable snow, ice & rain, etc. This also explains why the air is thinner & colder at altitude & why we get snow-capped mountains & do not need a lid on the atmo-sphere

It was the assertion, a hundred and twenty odd years ago, that we are spinning and wobbling at millions of miles an hour in multiple vectors and acceleration and decelerating with no specific evidence to back it up. That would be the extraordinary claim which would need some extraordinary evidence. This came about in the form of some dubious footage of moon landings. Which solidified it as fact, bypassing the normal scientific method.

I started looking at FE as something to amuse me years back. Within about 3 hours I was scratching my head with questions I couldn't answer. After a month I was flipped. The basic science proves that we are not on a globe with an atmosphere in space. Our environment is a little bit more complex than just a flat plain. It is almost like it is unique to each observer. But there is no discernable curve and definitely a creator. I personally think the biblical description is the most accurate. The sky is a projection, a timepiece. But all of this leads to an incontrovertible truth. That those who rule from behind the curtain use every means to convince the masses they are insignificant. The greatest weapon at their disposal is deception.

I am more open to this idea than ever before. I don't KNOW a lot of things. I have hunches and opinions. It's important to question the narrative and our previous assumptions. If no other reason than to ask "Why would they lie about this?" It might lead to even more important questions. I have seen someone discuss a model that is a combination of it as flat-ish, a tree, and an energetic donut shape that is somewhat of a globe. Thank you for this guest, Richard.

I came to the Flat Earth community because of mathematics. I was not interested in Flat Earth, but I did question the belief that the Earth is spinning, and that it is in an orbit around the sun, which itself is moving in an outer spiral of the a galaxy etc etc. I questioned the simple fact that if that was indeed the case, the Earth spinning, and the whole so called solar system likewise, why would the stars appear in the same configuration for thousands of years, and why does the sun appear on the altar stone of Stonehenge without fail on solstice days, with all that sun, planetary, and stellar movement? On that basis, ten years ago, I checked on the proofs that we have that the earth ACTUALLY moves. To my surprise there was ONLY ONE PROOF. That proof was so called " Stellar Aberration" and being an Engineer and having a very good knowledge and understanding of mathematics, I was surprised to find that the mathematics were based on false assumptions, with speculative theories included in the calculations. I dug deeper, and began to raise this matter with a number of mathematics professors in the UK and the US, including the prestigious M.I.T. and to my relief, I found that the mathematics that were used to prove "Stellar Aberration " were false. Since that time, Wikipedia must have heard about my enquiries, and they have taken down the original mathematics and replaced them with another complicated load of nonsense, no doubt devised to deter the casual enquirer from fully understanding their deceit. I do not know whether the Earth is flat or not, but I do know that the sole proof of Earths movement in so called "Space" is a sophisticated and elaborate con trick. The Earth is Stationary, and the builders of Stonehenge knew that too, and that is why they built this ancient cosmic time clock to prove it.

This topic is brilliant as it lays bare where people are at in their “journey” and sadly most people seem to believe they live in a model, as that is all they have on their side in a discussion. When people are so willing to deny their senses it makes complete sense of what’s happened the last four years. They did some number on us, whoever they might be!
I don't know about you but some simple principles, a heliocentric world and my own observations make a pretty compelling case for a globe.

I have a similar story... I saw a video claiming flat earth is biblical... I thought the guy on the video was a liar... I, growing up in a Baptist congregation, just knew none of this was true... I was so angry and was going to prove this guy wrong... As well as leave all my evidence in a scathing comment... So, I proceeded to break out the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and looked up every passage that mentioned the words: firmament, earth, moon, stars, heavens, and foundations... To my surprise, everything he said was completely true... From there, I decided to find out what else was a lie... If I had been lied to about this, what else had I been lied to about??? Thanks to the Father putting that video before me, I have learned that we have been deceived about a great many things; both in biblical teachings and the secular world... I thank God for opening my eyes as much as He has and pray for more to be revealed... Many think I'm crazy when I talk about flat earth or other biblical truth, but as the scriptures say, "If a man thinks himself wise in this world let him become a fool that he may become wise."
it's puzzled me for a long time because if we are on a spinning sphere anywhere on that sphere you apart from the very top ( and I know this sounds ridiculous but you wouldn't be able stand upright you would be walking sideways on the side and upside down on the bottom) gravity doesn't explain it to me . If you look at a small sphere say a marble all the the surface is curved even if you put the smallest sphere under microscope all the surface is curved. What I'm trying to say every bit of land we try to live on would be curved you wood see it every where.

It's a relief for me to hear this . I visited NASA in Florida about 12 years ago and just felt it was a very peculiar place . They had the moon rover on display, I think the local primary school could have knocked up a more credible looking vehicle.

As a logical person the sun doesn't appear to be so far away. When I've been in an airplane everything looks flat, puzzles me how water can stay put on a spinning ball. Some other things that just don't make logical sense.

The moon appears to be the same size as the sun although we are told it is 93,000,000 miles distant opposed to the moon which is approximately 239,000 miles distant mysteriously denying us its hidden face. In light of the above, how is it possible that earth's atmosphere sticks velcro-like to earth's surface, while the vacuum of outer space does not affect our atmosphere? Does water collect on hills & mountains? Are they ignoring the firmament by trying to make us believe that God, our creator, doesn't exist? Psalm 19:1. This is scientism not science. One thing bugs me though, if the map on the wall behind this gentleman is correct, then surely the theory would be easily testable by circumnavigating the Tropic of Cancer then the Tropic of Capricorn. Cook circumnavigated the south in the 1770's and he recorded taking three years. He records travelling for hundreds of thousands of miles. This fits with what we would expect on that model only. Flat earthers want to verify this but we are not allowed past the 60th degree with fuel. For some reason all countries have signed the antarctic treaty which prevents this type of independent verification. Suspect enough to peak curiosity and to check the long distance observations across water?

So the vectors for the sunrise in Australia are what we would expect, due east on the equinox for example.
When I WAS IN high school back in the 70’s when we were told NASA “sent men to the moon” I wanted to ask a silly question to the teacher. What prevents anyone to travel in a plane in the opposite direction of the rotation of the globe if rotates @ 1000 mph and the plane can go 500 mph than why the hell wouldn’t you be going 1500 mph and reach your destination 3 times faster. The plane wouldn’t probably remain in one piece at that speed. I never asked it because I figured smarter people than me would have asked b4 me.

Truly, I appreciate people who at least question things and set out to test out their theories. I can get on board with the authorities of knowledge not really having the full picture, absolutely, all day long. But there has NEVER been a flat earth argument that has been air tight or that has made any sense. To believe so whole heartedly in something without any really good evidence is just a faith...a kind of religion. Nothing more.

How can this be independently verified. I think it would be tricky. I can personally verify that I could see across the channel, the entire height of the white cliffs of Dover. Engineers use plane surveying for projects below 1000km2. It sounds like a nice story you were told, but in reality we work from the assumption that the surface is a horizontal plane.
P.s. with this type of construction it is usual to lean the posts away from each other so that when they are loaded it deflects and plumbs up.

Cliff height 300 ft distance 25 miles geometric hidden 323 ft. so no, incorrect, the entire cliff should be hidden. Even if you add some magical refraction only the top few feet would be visible. If you read what I stated it was that the entire cliff was in sight, proving its flat.

First off. Refraction isn’t “magical”. Flat earthers have decided to pretend it is because they can’t admit that their observations don’t comport with flat earth. Refraction is a real well understood, quantified and measured phenomena. To pretend it is non existent is not silly and dishonest.

One thing tells me that you’re lying or being deliberately misleading. You make no mention of viewer hight. As I am sure you are aware, but almost all flat earthers “forget” to mention is your viewer hight. A viewer hight of just over 250’ and low refraction would make the cliffs visible.
However, over water refraction is almost never “standard” so probably less than 250’.
So you claim that I am wrong ignoring the fact that the cliffs can absolutely be seen in their entirety if sufficient viewer height is available.
Perhaps you are the one who should read their own posts first so that critical data isn’t missing.

Anyone who has looked at Saturn or the Jovian system, through a good enough telescope over multiple nights, will observe moons orbiting the host planets; been doing this sort of thing since I was a kid, Also ask someone in Australia to photograph the moon with some ground features included, then take the photo outside on a moonlit night, and you will notice that the moon in the photo is upsidedown compared to the moon in your British sky, as if we live on a ball believe it or not. A water level is a tool for establishing a horizontal plane of reference. If the earth where a ball all standing water must curve. The physics of water denies that possibility.

I once handed her my astronomy binoculars while on holiday in Spain so that she could watch a large fishing vessel disappear over the horizon, but she refused to believe her own eyes and insisted that the binoculars are simply designed to make it look that way.

I've listened/read a lot of NDE's. Not many, but a few mention seeing the earth as a globe. The one that got me was he was sick and had his NDE at 6. He saw the globe earth. I can't remember if it was 1940's or 1950's, but before the first picture shown on TV. He said he got really excited because when he saw it on TV, it matched what he saw in his experience. He sold me it's a globe, not NASA. The bible is human produced and not proof of truth.

I'm not the sort to simply dismiss an idea just because it's outlandish, I personally know many things to be true that most consider fairy tales,
my position on FE is that if there's a proof I can test myself and an adequate explanation for why the evidence for a globe is false I'll fully change my mind, no problem
The issue I find is that when I try to get actual evidence from a FE believer or point out the globe evidence to them it goes literally nowhere.
The responses I get (and believe me I've contacted those who claim to be 'experts') range from simply denying the evidence, repeating some variation of a thought experiment that's meaningless in reality or like 'well no one knows but it's definitely still flat'
