My favorite bottle on my shelf is currently the 2022 gatsby.. but I have to say, the 23B stag was incredible. It's much darker than the normal profile and i loved it.
I was actually able to attend a Pappy Van Winkle lineup tasting with my #1 employee. What a great experiance that was. My favorite was the 15 year and his was the 13 year rye but all of them were special.
My # 1 of 2023 was the ladt bottle I got in 2023. It was King of Kentucky that I got in a Kroger raffle. 133+ proof. It may be the best bourbon ive ever had the pleasure of tasting.
Dan aka Sticky Mitts with the catch of the century on the 2XO bottle! Great video and wish I could have tried more of these bottles this year. Cheers everyone and Happy New Year!
Great list. I’m still not pulling the trigger on 13th colony because I keep hearing rumors of them using additives. Tried to get in for a tour there, and they got really weird when we showed up.
I have none of those and will never see them, lol. But I did finally pick up a New Riff Single Barrel this morning and the first Early Times bib I've bought in over two years after the Sazerac fiasco. Hope Sean's right that they worked out the problems on ET and it's back to being top tier bottom shelf bourbon!
Love the video and the rankings. I have a handful of those this year, but one I didn't see on your top 18 was Four Roses 135th Anniversary. Did you not like or did you not get your hands on a bottle? I was fortunate to get a bottle for Christmas and it would certainly be in the running if I made a top 10 list. There is a bottle of M10 in the cabinet at my local store, but I just can't justify (or afford) $500. Wish I could try that, but it's just so spendy.
I found some really great dusty bottles recently - I reached into the back shelf area of my collection! Watching the constantly raising prices at stores - now it’s time to enjoy the stored collection.
My top 3 of the year that I have: Makers Cellar, Michters 10 yr; 4 Gate Kelvin 60. Love the content you guys are putting out. Look forward to more great videos in 2024.
What’s the better Dixon Dedman buy? 2XO Gem Of Kentucky Barrel #55 or Kentucky Owl Batch 10? Both available at MSRP near me. I’ll hang up and listen, thanks!
Th best and only way to grade these is to rank in smaller groups, then re-evaluate in new groups again based on initial final rankings (I.e., 6 bottles, top 2 move on, remaining 4 get regrouped)
Straight up Dad-reflexes on that Dan catch of the 2xo. My top pick of the year was easily Mich10, especially since I scored 3 @ $165 each (didn't get JD12/13th/BK) and I probably would have put my Disco11 in mid-pack. I did get a Stagg 23C a week ago for a whopping $52 but haven't opened it yet.
I loved 13th DO, M10, EHT BP batch 12, THH, RR13, OFBB23, Bourye, Stagg, MTBS Rye, EC923. I’m on the fence about JD12 all I taste is oak on that one for some reason.
I can't afford any of this at all, benchmark is a splurge that I pass on because it's not great... being a solo income hooman is hella expensive in downtown Grand Rapids. but I do love it and love Michigan and appreciate your content so one day should fortune bequeath itself in this direction and into my bank account I will take your list and run with it. Bourbons and mainly ryes were my jam and I miss them so so much. Thank you so much for your content!!
Only one of these I got this year was the M10 but glad you guys agree that thing is a monster. I’ve yet to have another 90 proofer that drinks anything like that, wow.
Loved the video guys. I managed to get the 2023 Michters 10 this year and haven’t opened it but tried it at a bar. Honestly didn’t think it was crazy good but I did have it when it was first opened so who knows. Wanted to ask if you can explain how it’s not a 10 year age statement cause I couldn’t find anything easily online about it?
Great list! I finally got a bottle of Stagg. My son got one for me when he was in Austin, Tx. He just got it to me today. It does not have a batch #. Can you explain? Thanks!
I’m impressed boys. I would have picked and ranked very. Very. Close. I had the opportunity to purchase a majority of the bottles this year. Cheers and happy New Year 🎉
My surprise favorite this year was Widow Jane batch 946 bottle 683. 91 proof. I don’t have deep pockets like the Bourbon Junkies. But I am going to make an attempt to buy a few of their recommendations from there list this year. Great job guys, really enjoining your channel.
Great, informative showing. We can’t get 13 th Colony double oak in NYC. Did you guys get to try Peerless double oak this year? I’ve heard it’s pretty special, coming to market soon here. I’d love to get a review from you.
Top3 for me that I own: RRSR CNF, ECBPC923 (A22), Dragons Milk Toasted Top5 that I tried this year : RRSR CNF, ECPBC923 (A22), Birthday Bourbon '23, Four Roses 135th, Bakers 13
Actually a lot of available bottles on this list (at least for DE/MD shore). We can’t seem to get a good allocation of JD products. No 10, no 12, hard to get SBBP and SBBPR shelfers (did get a store pick SBBP though). Disco 11 is readily available, as always
Didn’t get to try anything too wild but I completed my Blanton’s tops last year and the last bottle was a store pick! Other than that, finished off a GTS 2019, tried Elmer T for the first time, Weller 107, Angels Cask, and Jack 10! Hopefully 2024 will be a good year!
Thanks for the list! Would've loved to see how the Four Gate Kelvin Sixty would have performed...love that bottle more than the Collab V, and even more than ECBP C923. Of course that one does have a A222 laser code... 😜
Good line up no matter what direction is goes. Took ‘23 off from drinking so no favorite. But this has me looking forward to tasting a bunch this year.
I'm so glad to hear that Jack 12 is doing well open over time because I haven't opened mine yet. Guess I can taste it now. I'm probably not gonna come across it again.😅
Are you guys familiar with the new Lazy K Ranch Bourbon out of Montana? It's a new bourbon partnered with Cole Hauser from the show "Yellowstone". At $100 I see it as more of a collectors item but I have heard great things and would love for you guys to taste test it.
My C923 didn't have a laser code on it. Got it right from an ABC store so not counterfeit. My two Elijah Craig Toasted bottles have a laser code though. It's weird.
Was able to acquire a 13th Colony Double Oaked, and am in love with it!! Lol 😆 Probably no way to ever get another, so I’m gonna have to slow play this bottle for years, which just makes it cooler IMHO. Great review as usual…
Weird people are saying these are findable bottles. I did not see a single one of these either findable or under $200 and I hunt regularly. ECBP is probably closest and the B was around a bunch but never seen a C923. Could probably get the Disco for $160 before this video to be fair but still a wildly expensive list.
I really liked the old elk island blend cigar cut. Other than that the rest of my list can be filled with anything redwood empire makes as I tried their bottles for the first time this year and all of it is great and at a great price.
I would like to see a MSRP attached to each bottle to see if worth hunting for. There are so many new labels being peddled @ high prices these days. It's hard to know the good from the mediocre.
no ryes on the Whiskey list...I know you did another list, but would love to see where or if those top3 ryes fit in the list with the rest of the whiskeys

I got 75% of those this year. 2023 was a good year for my collection.
I've got #1, #2, #5, #7, such a great year!!! Really surprised to not see the JD 12 this high on more people's lists. That stuff is just phenomenal.
My favorites this year (that I found) RR13 b5, ECBP C923 and JD12. All amazing.
Makes me feel good about picking a jack 12 up at retail. I don’t really find rare stuff often and it was the last one on the shelf for $80 or $85
My favorite bottle of the year was Springbank 12 Cask Strength 2023!
That shit is down right an experience you can’t get with bourbon and my thoughts were the same . It was better then any bottle of bourbon.
My favorite bottle on my shelf is currently the 2022 gatsby.. but I have to say, the 23B stag was incredible. It's much darker than the normal profile and i loved it.

Love how you list had alot of of findable bottles. Surprised about where ECBP placed. thanks for the video.
Dan aka Sticky Mitts with the catch of the century on the 2XO bottle! Great video and wish I could have tried more of these bottles this year. Cheers everyone and Happy New Year!
Bakers 13, Stagg 22a, ECBP A123
the amount of bottles and the rating system this year is my favorite way you guys have ever done end of the year!
My #1 for 2023 was Penelope 9 year batch 23-202. Really good juice!
Love watching these guys at my weekend job at the liquor store before I go home and drink whiskey
Great list. I’m still not pulling the trigger on 13th colony because I keep hearing rumors of them using additives. Tried to get in for a tour there, and they got really weird when we showed up.
Got the Jack 12 at 2 different allocated lotteries. Best whiskey I’ve ever had.
I have none of those and will never see them, lol. My favorite that you have there is the ECBP C923. Would have loved to find the Michter's or the JD12. Got lucky in 2024 to find a JD10.
Great year of content guys! My #1 2023 was a OFBP pick.

Great list fellas….i still cant get enough of that wild turkey 12 year…soo glad i was able to get 2 more bottles at a great price.
Can’t find that 13th Colony…Have most of these bourbons. One of my favorites in 2023 is the Redwood Empire Pipe Dream Cask Strength
Stagg 22b for sure should have been in this. More complex and rich to me.
What are the shelves y’all use behind y’all?

I liked Jack 12 better than the 13th Colony personally but that’s a hell of a list!
I discovered Duality from Atlanta and the Sherry Cask finished bottle from Silk City in NJ.
Best bottles this year for me, Mr Sam Tribute Whiskey batch 3 and 23 GTS
My C923 didn't have a laser code on it. Got it right from an ABC store so not counterfeit. My two Elijah Craig Toasted bottles have a laser code though. It's weird.
JD12 is my personal favorite that I’ve owned. Tried a sample of 13th DO and it would definitely be first for me if I owned one.
Which barrel was the M10??
What would be a fair trade for 13th Colony DO?

Not sure how RR13 or Rickhouse isn’t on this list, but I like what I see. Also surprised I didn’t see the 4 Roses 135th.
Cause we never got a bottle
Doesn’t that strong light under the bottles degrade the whiskey or is it only UV light that does it?
Great video for a beginner like me, well just beginning to branch out to other brands
0 -18 on the bottles you guys have.. But my top 3 are Barrel Kings batch 59, K,Luke batch 7 and 2XO Inn Keepers...
No Joseph magnus cigar blend this year?

I only drink ECBP if the laser code shows that it was bottled in August, on a Wednesday, by Knight Lautrec of Carim.
