That's cool to me. Truth is, I might have bought one of these in 2020 when I was actively looking at kayaks. Still might buy one in the future. I think that Gator Glide would help this thing immensely with paddling across the water and would help that little 2.5 Merc. too. That stuff is amazing!
I'm a bigger guy who wants to get on the water with a Kayak so it would Def be helpful to see you mod out some kayaks and help people like me to figure out what to buy!
Love these kayak videos 😂 Nice you finally jumped into a nice kayak. Aliex Folgueira put a 6HP Outboard on the Jonny boat that thing was insane. Ask that kayak dealer to let you try out a Hobie PA 360
The wheels are the key on my buddy’s Bass Hunter mini-pontoon plastic boat. Dragging through the bush it makes life way easier. 2 of us can easily stand and cast.
@Ghhbjcvj G go gfuh It's totally worth it I travel on lake Champlain anything over 1.5 ft wight caps gets narley. And on 2 gallons I get like 6hrs of motor time
If you can equip it with a spot lock version of the trolling motor with a remote control that you wear around your neck on lanyard you could skip that gas motor. Resulting in better balance and control of the craft. You might not even need to use the rudders. Granted it would only be for short distances, but I think the trade off would be worth it. Still I'll stick with my 14' v-hull... as a big guy I just feel safer and more comfortable on it.
Only kayak I wanna see you do is 2 of them as pontoons and some aluminum to make a mini pontoon rig… for the money why wouldn’t someone just get one of those bass raider things.. 10ft and super stable
@@TinyBoatNation fair point, however I'm talking about the energy density in gas compared to a battery. Gas has about 100x more energy density. Gasoline energy density is 47.5 MJ/kg. lithium-ion battery pack has about 0.3 MJ/kg and about 0.4 MJ/liter (Chevy VOLT)
That's a great little toy but to small 12 or 14 are great and put the epropulsion 1.0 on the back and haul ass blow by the other boats and don't forget your life jacket next time
Too many modified kayaks already out there. I've seen plenty of bad ass ultrex kayaks fully rigged. It really doesn't make sense to put anything more than a bad ass trolling motor with a lithium battery on one. Any kayak will move with a decent trolling motor. On that boat it looks like you would have to pick between gas or electric. That gas outboard is not a great setup for fishing. Maybe for intercoastal waters?!! I bet the electric version is better for bass fishing.
I had this boat the year it came out. This was my first Kayak ever and will never forget it. She was a blast!

Thanks for the info. not sure if gator glide will stick to HDPE.

I have two jonnys and I put 2 Yamahas 2.5 on them. The Yamahas sound really really quite and good

With a gas motor, where do you put your tackle crate?
In the front?

Curious as to what that lure was u were throwing.....
Boat people in kayaks make me smile
I have one with the steerable pod and it kicks ass!
Hi. what is the height (jonny bass boat)?. Thank you
No idea
not using the kill cut-off wrist switch when you are on a tiny unstable boat with a chopping machine a foot away... darwin award
I have option on one with outriggers and a roll bar to help with standing . $1.4K I'm thinking of getting it just to go for rides.
Why not go for it?!?
@@TinyBoatNation 315 weight and it's rated , 250.
They make a transom plate for this yak. I love my jhonny I've had it for 2 seasons now and I still love it
@Ghhbjcvj G go gfuh boat pre covid was 899 and the motor was a brand new Suzuki 2.5 I think it was 5-600 transom plate was like 60$
@Ghhbjcvj G go gfuh remebr that was pre covid add about 100 to 200$ on everything. The yak is bit on the heavy side coming in at 100lbs

Cool video Mike, that setup looks pretty stable 👍
Would a torqeedo (or however you spell it lol) work better than that suzuki on a jonny boat?
Actually, Epropulsion spirit 1.0 would work way better than both
Howdy from australia?
sure a mod video for a kayak would be cool
I think, Ease of paddling a kayak is size of the boat and weight. If you are too heavy for the kayak then its harder to paddle to move it.
I’d love to see u mod out a kayak

Agreed. I plan on trying that out.

Good ole slippery site 6?
The heavy breathing of fear haha pretty cool though, doesn’t seem too practical
Those look fun
They are pretty nice!
Very good you can do it
The yek killer how is it

Howdy! Hope you stop by our headquarters in Peoria
I got a 13 foot gheenoe a couple years ago with a five horse and it's just so much better
I trust my ten foot build I did over any kayak mine is pretty stable for being ten foot
@@TinyBoatNation I’ll have check tomorrow I don’t think it’s 1040 it’s sears 10foot and I’ve had me and other 150 pond person and my dog
Lets see a vid on a modded out kayak.
Soon
Review mod jonny boat bass 100!
only a grand too this looks fkn awsome
With an electric outboard you would need a 100 lb battery to get the same amount of energy out of a gas motor.
I would look at the epropulsion Spirit 1.0 electric outboard. It’s the exact same weight as the outboard, battery included.

Canoe - Gheenoe
Kayak - Caillou
I’ll look into it
In true site six fashion.
boat is faster than my 6hp with a 16 feet, 575 pound boat
That boat needs a 25hp minimum

@@TinyBoatNation definitely a great platform for you to try out and is a much deeper and way more stable then this one.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks!
Looks like way too much trouble.
For a grand, it's not that bad
Man wear some rubber boots.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
Thanks for watching.
Um no, absolutely no!
Neat but not for me
That sitting position when motoring is awful
