@Dariel Baylor i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I just have to tell how much you are appreciated. There is a guy in the RV world named Josh with Haylett RV and his focus is to provide information to educate folks on all products RV whether they are able to purchase from him or not. You are that guy for the paddling community. I guess after this video we should say the Small Watercraft community. We live here in Palm Harbor Florida(across the bay from Tampa) and you make us feel like we are just around the corner. You are a great guy with a great mission and we appreciate all you do. Jim
My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!
I have recently gotten interested in getting a fishing kayak because of the shoreline for most of the bodies of water where I live. Headwaters Kayak's videos continue to impress me with the information that they provide and the real reviews of the stuff that they talk about. Love that you did an example of how to get back in a kayak in this video. I haven't seen that before.
I’ve got a 2 stroke 3 horse that weighs about 18 pounds. I bored it out, stroked it, bigger reeds, Mikuni carb upgrade and now it’s putting out about 6 to 8 HP. Fuel tank is integrated into the top of the motor. Be fun with this!
Lake Camanche that was my old stomping grounds. Grew up in that small town Ione. Moved out of Cal. Year and a half ago but was there in Ione since 74. That was a great review. The head stand was epic, don’t think anyone else would do that. Nice boat also.
I used to have a 10ft hydroplane boat that did 60 mph you want to talk about scary fast and I used to fish in it from time to time back in my 20s but this Jonny bass boat is just my speed at 63 years old
Dan, you make a great point about self-rescue with a motor. How does that work out? With a gas motor you have at least a 40lb weight on the rear, and a gas tank. With a trolling motor, youve got a big heavy battery which hopefully is affixed to the boat in the event it flips...or for the sake of getting back on and getting back to safety, maybe not. In all reality, a tow is probably in order. IMO, I'd stick with at most a pedal drive.
That is super cool!! I’m not even a fisher (it’s something I’d like to get into) and I’d STILL buy one for rec use!! Especially because the lack of licensing needed (in my area) and the fact you could throw that on top of any regular makes it a steal for under a grand!!

Of course his Jackson is heavier than this craft. I wonder if this Jonny boat can handle a 2.5 hp outboard. If so, you could save a ton of money on power........and still go much faster than the Torqueedo.
Howabouthetruth yes it’s meant to take a 2.5 and I’ve seen guys run up to 6hp. They don’t advise it though. Was Jeff (from Torqeedo) using a travel motor?
@@HeadwatersKayak That's good to know. He was using the top of the line Torqueedo for kayaks, with the deluxe battery ( whatever it's called )........I was kind of shocked that it only ran 5 mph top speed in calm water in his big Jackson. Pretty cool little boat. Good review. That said, if you don’t want a real boat, just want something with a trolling motor just to fish out of, you just can’t beat the Pelican Bass Raider. Stable as can be, tons of room and you can just throw in the back of the truck or top of the car. Pelican is also way cheaper.
Dre Sted those have a place too. If I lived on a private pond I’d have one with a little trolling motor. With that said this thing with a gas motor would cover miles and you just can’t do that in a bass raider. We are seeing hairs being split in the industry. So many niches being flushed out.
@@HeadwatersKayak This Jonny boat 10 with a gas motor would be an accident waiting to happen. When it capsizes, does it dump gas and oil into our fishing waters?
@@charliehustlehard3921 I have found the elco outboard is cheaper but has a solid pedigree and has been around for a long time it's plug and play so you can hook it to your choice of batteries, and use it like an outboard
The speed attainable is directly proportional to the LOA (Length Over All); so, a 10' kayak will not travel as fast as a 12' kayak. The same applies to, for example, sailboats. Also, the shorter the kayak the more frequently one has to make directional changes. My Old Town 10 footer requires more course adjustments than my 12 footer.
it's nice but I think for the price I would go with something a bit different. Thanks for reviewing, trying to get a good idea of several boats and kayaks before I buy them soon.
I like that with a little 30# thrust trolling motor that would be perfect for the 60 acre lake I live on here in Florida I'm getting too old to paddle much anymore but I still want to get out and fish .
I live in Florida too bud and have been kinda tossing the Kayak thing around in my head. The thing holding me back is gators. I have two job boats but the Kayak sits so low in the water. Does that bother you at all?
packinaglock you would think they’d be a problem but actually the gators (assuming they haven’t been fed) are more intimidated by how far above the waterline you are than how long the boat is. I’ve kayaked and paddle boarded around gators for a while now and I’d only be worried if I fell off 😂
Except for tight creeks, mangrove tunnels and cypress swamps, I would rather have a Grumman Canoe squareback with a motor. But, there are a lot of places where a trolling motor on a "One Man Boat" is the ticket to catching the fish. Reminds me of a Creek Boat M98.
I have the orange Jonny bass 100. Love, love my 100. Only draw back I got the 20 battery. I can’t find the 40 so if you know where I can get a 40 please let me know.
This boat- can out riggers be attached to it? If so and I decided to put a 6hp motor on it would it be suitable to take it out on open water fishing around coast of the North Sea in calm conditions 🫣
I agree the lines are being burred. Decisions made early on kinda set the stage for things like this to be excepted. IMO it should have stayed human powered, and non of this stuff would exist. With that said Hoover and crew has done more for this sport and I ever dreamed, so I cant really complain.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts comparing that Johnny to an OldTown 106 Powered by Minn Kota or the 120 Auto Pilot. Appreciate all of your reviews and over views. Thanks.
Bryan Turner I wish that was the rule. Motors have opened doors for way to much non kayak stuff. It’s disappointing and discouraging for guys who still love to kayak.
I would love to see a review of the star pike vs Blackfoot angler vs bote lono inflatables and any other options in this category you feel worthy to add in.
No mention on how it handles the wakes from other boats. I saw the video skip several times when you were around the other boats... So I wonder about that.
Hey, would you ever consider reviewing the Ozark Trail Pro Angler? It is a cheaper sit on top kayak that is offered by Walmart but seems to have decent stability. I was just wondering what you thought about it. Thanks!
Well, you could say that for most any kayak. I love this channel, I dig many of the fishing kayaks, and I truly appreciate and admire all the hard work & effort he puts into demo'ing these yaks for viewers, with total honesty. But man, do I ever love my Twin Troller X-10. I've owned it for 2 yrs and 8 months now. I fish more than the average bass fisherman here in central Florida, and after owning quite a few various boats, including 2 bass boats in the past.........I can honestly say, dollar for dollar, the Twin Troller is the best investment I have ever made in any fishing boat. Absolutely nothing, at any price, has the handling, prowess, stability, and comfort of the Twin Troller while fishing, and totally hands free at all times. It can out-maneuver anything on the water. Seriously. 2 large men can't capsize the Twin Troller if they tried, and that's no joke. It also takes my 3.5 hp Tohatsu 4 stroke outboard quite nicely for larger lakes & rivers. It runs about 10 mph top speed with the outboard, and 4 mph using the hidden & protected twin MotorGuide trolling motor heads with twin pedals. The swivel seats are like sitting in a comfortable office chair. 1 or 2 anglers can sit or stand and fish. ( 10 feet long x 4 feet wide ).....The ONLY drawback, is it weighs 175 lbs, and some folks can't use that in waters where a craft must be carried to the bank to launch. They make a dolly for it, but I trailer mine. The transom is so strong, I can leave the outboard on, even while trailering over rough roads & pot holes. I'm just as tickled with it today, as the day I first received it. They are pricey, but they are worth every dollar, and the hull is incredibly strong. I easily carry 8 baitcaster rod/reel combo's laid completely flat in the extra deep side trays & plenty of room for tackle, cooler, utility box, etc. The electric motors run all day on a single charge with the series 29 deep cycle marine battery. I invented a custom raised casting platform covered with SeaDek. It makes the boat even better in many ways. I feel like I got my bass boat back with the casting deck. But I still love kayaks too. Tight Lines.
@@Lt.Fireguy I'm in south Brevard co. Melbourne to be exact. If ya wanna see my boat and the custom casting deck I made for it, visit my friend Gerry's channel: "Lunker012" and scroll down his video list & find: "The Twin Troller Gets a Casting Platform". I also sent him several other videos to post on his channel pertaining to the Twin Troller and bass fishing in my area. No actual fishing footage, but I did make videos about the boat, and picture videos about my bass fishing at this time. I need to get a gopro.

How much am I looking at total would you say?. I’m work in McDonald’s saving money cause I love fishing especially bass fishing. Can’t wait to save enough to buy this single Person kayak.
What kind of motor is this ? I don't even see the battery . This is my dream comes true . I hate trailer , top load or paddle due to poor health . With this one I just stick it in my Toyota High Lander and go . Can't wait for the Pelican Power 100 to come out so I can compare and pick the most suitable for me . Thanks for a very informative video .

@@howabouthetruth2157 I'm in central Florida also. Polk co
Great review

Great !!!honest video
Thanks you 👍
If I buy it online will it come with the motor
Great video
These men are having too much fun! :)
I’m new to this kayak what motor are you using how much is the motor . Where can I purchase? Do you need to
Buy a boat license permit since it has a motor? How much am I looking at total would you say?. I’m work in McDonald’s saving money cause I love fishing especially bass fishing. Can’t wait to save enough to buy this single
Person kayak.
Dan with that wake you could get a boarder up with that motor. Man how I miss my NCKA guys
NCKA would have bashed me for this. And rightfully so. With that said it has more interest than any kayak I've ever posted. The times are changing.
@@HeadwatersKayak Would be fun to give it a try on a small tank here in Texas.
Just noticed that you sound alot like kevin Costner 😂. Looks like pelican is going to have some serious competition. Well worth the asking price for what you get.
Jonathon lopez I have people say that once and a while. Don’t hear it, but you know how your voice always sounds different to yourself. Yes this thing is going to give pelican a run for their money. Still want to play in it though.
I was thinking Tom Hanks at times
Sounded exactly like Tom Hanks to me lol
