    Thanks for doing this-I've been looking over them at Wally world, and considering adding them to the collection. They sure are eye candy if nothing else!

    I picked up a purple one at Walmart last week and did a video but haven’t posted it yet. They are a nice looking lock with decent security for beginners. Thanks for the video👍🦊

      Agreed, I think they are a good step up from a something like a master 3 and an introduction to spool pins.

    these are a fun little pick, seen these at Walmart a couple weeks back

    I bought one of these and quickly discovered there is a tiny button at the back of the keyway that you can tap with a short hook and pop it open without picking it. Push the pins all the way up and your hook all the way to the back and drag it down till you feel it “fall off a ledge” or go slightly deeper in the keyway and wiggle it a bit and it will open. Sorry about the poor lingo only been picking a couple of months.

      @michaelmilner216 Месяц назад

      I wish to recant my statement. The bidding on the key of mine is all the same with one slight exception as well as low so I was just setting the pins with the backside of a short hook when inserting it.

    Well dang. Was hoping to see what was inside. Dumb rivets. Good demonstration Jim.

      That’s why I bought a few, look for as much variance the only way I can short of drilling the thing out.

  • @thecompguy

    Very cool Jim! These arent in my local area but look cool. Strange how they very though! I was surprised to see the one acf like it had 2 spools but the other with all the high cuts only seemed to have one.. would be interesting to see whats inside...

    Haven't picked this one but the Brink Brass locks were great when I was starting off. Much better feedback than the Master Lock 140 and 141D. I think you can probably start with them and move straight to the Abus 55/40.

    • @georgiajim2260
      @georgiajim2260  3 месяца назад

      Agreed, the brass brinks have better feedback, more recognizable counter rotation and more open keyway. I think they are a better option than these aluminum models for new pickers

      Three let me see there was a big variance between the three which is helpful for ranking.

    I have a couple and they are "weird." First attempt out of the box i just brushed 5 and it opened. I think the pins like to stay stuck. Weak springs? Idk. They feel a bit crunchy when I try to pick them. Ive gotten them open several times but i dont know why they feel weird to pick. Im blaming the internals 😂

    • @georgiajim2260
      @georgiajim2260  26 дней назад

      They are pretty badly built, i’ve had them jam up while picking

  • @hunterglaspell
    @hunterglaspell 3 месяца назад +1

    I just bought one and can pick it in 5 seconds. After picking it 10 times, I suddenly encountered a false set. Mine seems to have only 1 spool and it appears short because it only catches some of the time. In addition, it seems only 2 pins obstruct in any meaningful way, which lead me to believe the driver pins on these are all on the shorter side. Was hoping for better.

    • @hunterglaspell
      @hunterglaspell 3 месяца назад

      Also what’s the point of putting a rekeyable core if it’s pinned in?

      But yeah, they’re very inconsistent in if and when you get a false set or counter rotation

    I came here hoping there was a clue on gutting these. I picked one up the other day at Wally's Mart and video'd the pick. I ain't anything special and picked it fresh out of the package... Yellow max. You mentioned drilling- exactly where would I attack with my bit?

    • @georgiajim2260

      The pin on the narrow side of the body. It holds the plug in.
