Wait a minute! That's who Neil was! In Italy we had another guy presenting the show and at some point he would just say: "And now let's see what our friend Neil is doing!", and they would show him doing his big art. I've always wondered who that Neil was. My childhood is complete!
yup! Neil was the original, by the looks of it some of the regional replicas were just as good, but yeah. Not a bad musician either. (He does metal.)
Not a regular guy, the great Giovanni Muciaccia lol
@@MisaoMRyuzaki you mean Harry Potter's dad
Oh my god we had the same "friend Neil" in French Art Attack!
Yes! Same here in Germany! 😃 But they gave him a more German name... 🙄 Nils. WTF!?
And this is Jazza fanboying over Neil Buchanan for 17 minutes
Yes. Drooling over him. 😂😂😂
lol i would also fanboy over Neil Buchanan for 17 minutes
Wholely agreeable.
Holy crap I watched this for 17 mins, only felt like 5mins, time well spent.
And 7 seconds
You should try reaching out and bring him on here and do a art attack special with him
Wooow! That needs to happen!
YEEEESSSSS!!!
I feel like that awkward "meeting your childhood hero" thing would happen and I don't know if I could watch that.

OMG Soo true
Awww man i don’t have scissors, i only have two medieval swords :c
Both are deadly
The salt art was actually one of his trademarks, in my memory anyway, he did that a lot in the 2000s seasons 😄
I actually didn't know they had other methods for big art :O
I feel like there were also a lot of clothing ones
I love those big drawings in the black background and floor Neil did.
I liked the one he did of a cartoon burgler but with black and white tape
I remember the glitter art more

Same here in Italy hahaha
@@geordijules wow mindblown :D
In Portugal they did the same, but they had a nickname for neil that they use most of the times, "mãozinhas" which translates to something like "little hands"
Also here in Italy the host didn’t make anything, they showed Neil’s hands and the host only commented them
Yes! Beni (in Germany) was so good! But now, they even changed him with another person….

The Gaurav version came in later... Before that, the Neil Buchanan version aired in India as well
I love how art attack is localized. There is a native speaking host, the kids can understand better and then Neil making big art. Great idea and so much work.
Well, it was the same host for the UK and Australian version but I'll give it to you. Australia is pretty similar to the UK.
I watched this in Canada growing up
Haley Haegens I did too...loved that show. We never missed an episode.
We had Beni Weber as a host in Germany. I distinctly remember swooning over his blue eyes as an eight year old. And Neil was the guy who never spoke, because we only ever saw him doing the big art
Haley Haegens I watched it in Québec, aka french version, it was epic
what ever jazza said starting from 12:34 is all true, i remember watching this dude all the time but being so upset after only finding like two of the twenty things that i needed for the build.
I grew up watching Art Attack and when I first found your channel it felt like finding Neil again. The creativity that he always inspired in me then is rekindled every single time I get to see one of your vids because of your crazyness and zaniness. You bring it back again and THANK YOU for that because that was a missing element. That plain and simple is why we all LOVE you so much Jazza.
I've always felt like you were RUclips's answer to Art Attack and it's been a pleasure and an honor to get to watch what you're going to come up with next.
P.S. I also found it ironic when I originally found out that he was a rocker and that you were a singer yourself. I said well There you go. More proof that he's from the YT multiverse and are another awesome version of Neil Art Attack Buchanan.🤙🏾🤘🏾♥️
You basically wrote Anam paragraph
Why do i get sad feeling reading this ? ? ?

Neil and Gaurav were one of the many people who had dominated my tv experience as a kid. I remember another british television show that went by the name Mister Maker and M.A.D. @@Syrieana Nein die haben einfach Neil's Zeug in die deutsche Serie reingeschnitten.
I laughed when I discovered that Neil Buchan was originally in a New Wave of British Heavy Metal band. He always seemed so wholesome and like he'd be your dad's best friend.
I watched Art Attack a lot as a kid, but since I'm from Germany I never got to experience the original Art Attack. The Showmaster Beni Weber was a cool guy who did nearly every other kid's show on the channel (later I figured out he was the German voice for Stan from Southpark and I knew my childhood was over)
In the German Art Attack Neil even played a role. He was "Neil our great artist" and was the guy who made these huge Pictures and never spoke. I thought of him as a cool but pretty weird character in all this. It's funny how different we experienced the same guy.
And I never had this glue. Back these days it was nearly impossible to get this kind of glue in regular supermarkets. That is one of my most intense memories to this Show.
Jaaaaaaa, genau so! 😃
Und jetzt, du brauchst etwas weißen Bastelkleber. Misch dem Bastelkleber zu gleichen teilen mit Wasser! :D

I grew up and live in Germany, and we had our own Neil (called Beny) replicating the show, but with the same intro and plaster head guy and everything, and Beny would always pass the Big Art on to "His friend Neil" and now I finally understand that it's just the original guy cause that part didn't have dialogue
I also once met Beny at an animation festival and he was pretty annoying

they ended in 2006, and it looks like you really started your channel in 2012, so you just filled the void. The Revived series started in November 2011, and just botched it. You are needed.
That's literally the first time I ever heard Neil talk. In the german version of he show they only showed him making his big art but we had a different host for the regular arts and cratfs
"All you'll need is is box and a strip"

Art attack went from bottle caps and toilet roll to owning a craft store
Mr maker also made this and I tried to replicate it with what I had and it was terrible. I didnt have a way to keep the latch on so it kept coming off and I used water and flour instead of glue which made it as flimsy as a snowman in the Pacific ocean.

One of the episodes of Art Attack that I tried was the Paper Weight/Note Holder Elephant. I made that a couple of years ago for my Mom to put on her desk (Before the whole divorce with Dad), and my Dad asked me if I can make him one too.
BUT he made it a challenge for me. Instead of an elephant, my Dad wanted the paperweight to be based on one of the hockey players from the Buffalo Sabres.
Well I made the paperweight the same as the elephant, but it got tricky with making the adjustments.
It worked out and my Dad loved it! He still has it in his downstairs "Man Cave", on a shelf with his other collectible stuff. ^^
I have to say that I'm quite proud of that challenge!
One of these days, I REALLY hope to try out that Sepia Painting technique from Art Attack with, what Neil said, coffee or instant coffee as the "Paint".
Something about drawing or coloring that's just relaxing to me. Like, I can just doodle a picture, or color in an adult coloring book and feel calm and at peace.
Anyways, Neil's the kind of art teacher you wish you had in art class at your school! He looked like he could be a great help to you with any kind of tutorial...
If only someone would've taught me how to use poses and anatomy to draw the bodies just right. ^^;
....I just came from Kasey Golden imitating Jazza to Jazza sounding like he’s trying to sound like Kasey being him .... this has been a real experience
Lol

“Life is a cycle of theft and reactions.” - Jazza, 2019
So does the red shirt for Jazza avatar is also inspired by Art Attack?
You wrote that weirdly
I love how kids around the world understood a scouser.
Nill for guest star on Jazza's channel!
Your reaction to the new host reminds me of when I was PISSED they replaced Steve on Blues Clues 😂
Yesssssssss
It was Kevin in the UK. I was equally as fuming when they replaced him here 😂
STEVE!
Art Attack in 1990s: You will need scissors, glue and paper.
Art Attack in 2000s: You will need scissors, glue, paper, nails, blue cardboard, a scientific calculator and 1L of unicorn's blood.
EDIT: Corrected "Scizors" for "Scissors". Thanks for calling out!
Rôm P.S. scissors
WTF do I need a Bug/Steel-type pokemon for an art project
@@EE-eh5fc Thank you for your correction, some English words are very tricky to me and I'm still learning. If I got other word wrong I'm willing to correct again. :)
@@yamigekusu You can switch the "Scizor" for a "Forretress" or a "Durant" if you like. Haha!
I know scissors are spelled correctly now, but I like scizors better.
This just popped up today, so of course I had to watch! I remember watching "Art Attack" with my kids in the mid 90s here in Canada. They loved the show, and I was usually amazed by his creations, as well! My younger daughter went on to study art, quite likely inspired by the program. :-)
Personally i watched the French/Belgian version of Art Attack so i don't feel nostalgia for these, but you made me search them on youtube and now i am rewatching the one's i already watched back then in my childhood and more, Thanks
Fun Fact: The French/Belgian version was a differend version of this one, with different presentator and project but in Every emission they showed Neil Buchanan making the "big arts" and they called him "Neil the big artist"
AVmear Same thing in Germany! We also had a different person presenting the projects but it was the exact same feeling. They are doing new episodes even til this day and I like to watch them sometimes. However the guy in the new episodes is damn annoying.
Same in Romania!
Same! I also watched the French/Belgian version and I'm just discovering now that Neil was the original presenter and not only 'Neil le grand artiste" hahah
Aaah les doux souvenirs de la colle vinylique blanche ..
Also in Portugal but he was called Handy (Mãozinhas in Portuguese)
In Latin America we had Rui Torres, he was our Art Attack hero :')
We also had Neil but they only showed the big art!
Update: I just found out Rui died in 2008 he was so young... :((((
He killed himself. Because of his daughter. The daughter got killed, he got depression, and then he killed himself.
A real, actual tragedy :C
@@ricardodelaroca6615 tragic. Why did his daughter get killed? Do you know? (Like robbery, marital issues, ect...)
special ed i dont really KNOW but i thought she was ill
Porque responden en inglés si todos sabemos que somos latinos :V
Bruh my mom told me about that when I was like 11 lmao
you should react to mr maker, its like 2019 art attack

@@cliv0ng yeah lmao what are these people on about
That was made in like 2010 or something...
This video just made me realize I love Jazza because I was once an Art Attack kid and Jazza is like Art Attack for adults. I love this revelation
