I've done that perfect circle ruler thing for college, still have it. It was pretty useful. Only thing was we used pins to poke the holes through. As for the cutting shapes without them being garbage... use an x-acto knife...

Even wood chiseling can be dangerous, those chisels are damn sharp and could easily take off a fingertip.
i dont wear any safety gear and i do blacksmithing
and i've only had little bits of metal embed themselves in my skin three times
Plus, he didn't even have to wear all that safety gear because bleach is pretty harmless if you're not drinking it or mixing it with ammonia.
15:25 it's both because the oil pastel has oil and the brush marker is water based so oil repels water, and yes I'm a big nerd.

I love using the blackened back of paper trick. I use powdered graphite and it helps me faithfully copy the parts of my sketch that I want to ink and color. Helps give me a cleaner final image and I can sometimes use cheap liked notebook paper to sketch if it's what I have on me.

There are actual markers for this! The pencil part helps for us not quite as artistically talented. I did a couple mugs and it's quite fun. 😁

I always found it to draw on my hand instead of on a glove makes it look more natural and you get all the little subtleties in your hand that are lost when you are a glove. though I guess I could work pretty well if you're doing like an animated hand but then proportions don't really matter as much.
For 9:05, fold the paper and cut it. It makes a bigger opening, and it's easier to cut the shape out.

It’s so strange to see oobleck being branded as an ‘art hack’. I used to make it all the time as a kid, it’s of just a bit of a science experiment really. It works because it’s a type of liquid that can change viscosity under stress, basically it can flow easier when not under pressure but as soon as pressure is applied it gets tougher and doesn’t flow as easily. Pretty cool stuff!
16:20 I’m pretty into abstract artwork but I find ones like these are just meaningless paint splatter. They don’t make you feel anything and are the kind of art you’ll find in a therapists office.

With the bleach and marker "hack", we used to just use q-tips, and colored construction paper. Same "hack", just easier materials to work with, and less time and effort.

the "starch water" is actually called Oobleck. If you put it in a tub and then punch it, its kind of a solid, but if you hold it in your hand or something like that, it turns in to a goopy liquid. It's very cool and easy to make!
Jazza you know damn well that if a world famous artist painted that streaked paint glob thing at the end of the video, art critics would be raving about its deeper meaning, people would be bidding on it with money that could buy a large house, and whoever won it would display it proudly in a visible area like their living room.

14:00 one can be a nice gift for a small kid who started to love painting stuff, if you do a lot of different figure ones and give them to paint and find out the hidden secret shape on it :)
