- In the early 2000s, the music industry was seeing a pivotal shift in coastal dominance. Throughout that era the south rose up and staked their claim once and for all and like Andre 3000 said, “the south got something to say”. To me southern hip hop has always been needed in the game because of the texture and cultural soul it provides to and for more than just African Americans. The south still represented the remanence of the trials black people faced generations ago, and displayed that through dialect, instruments, dress code, and even the taste in things like cars and medication Around that time one city in particular were making a noticeable mark. Houston. Lil Flip was right in the mix of that and looking like he had what it took to even translate to future hip hop climates. He’s released 17 studio albums in 20 years in the game, which has to be a record in itself, but after the first 3 or 4, Lil Flip was almost as they say irrelevant. Popping up here and there, mainly for run ins with the law or a feature or two. A far cry from where many saw the braided southern MC with a flow that was catchy and easy to sing along with. What happened to Lil Flip? How’d he go from FREESTYLE KING to not mention at all in 2021? Here are 3 reasons his growth was stunted.

Theyre not use to kissing major labels @$$ to stay in the game, or executives, or CEO's, or have to wait for the label to get permission when they can make music. They have complete creative control. They wanted to control him in the wrong way and even though he was with Colombia they hardly ever helped him promote his music and some how still went platinum. the machine wasn't helping him and Flip still was on top magically which is applauded. the Texas independent mindstate helped him through life. Then T.I. got mad. And wanted to make everyone hate Flip. He made up lies that Flip dissed him and had footage but it never came out till this day. B.S.😂! T.I. was trolling Flip but no 1 cared because tip was a gold artist. People from Houston know T.I. got beat up in Clover Land 🍀 and ran. But T.I. fooled the rest of the world and They fell for it. #3 The Haters! Flip was hot 🔥and on Fire. Dj Screw 🔩🌌 Crowned him as the young 👑 Freestyle King, and the O.G.'s of S.U.C. felt resentment towards him. A lot of Houston Rappers turned on him and sided with T.I. during the beef out of jealousy do to his talent. Even a lot of people from Houston, and they all knew T.I. got Smacked. Including the traitor scarface. T.I. Wasn't trying to look for Flip he was hiding behind Lil 3rd and his security in hopes to make them 2 fight. Which didn't go as he planned. Then Tipster looked like a BIG LAME saying he beat up Flip🤣! T.I.'s Machine backed him up with the lies and his machines' connections forced artist to side with the Tipster.

reason #4 Being a Hussler! Flip like a lot of Texas rappers just don't do 1 thing. They all do a lot of businesses. So it takes some time off his music. Flip was the 1st artist that sold $3 million In ringtones alone with "I need mine" an album that again was leaked and not promoted. He also is into Tech apps, Art, has jewelry stores, tattoo shops, paints, etc.
#4 The illuminati. A lot of Artist or their machine sell their soul to have $$$ and fame. And there's a big rumor that T.I. And a lot of rappers did that to stay in the buisness. That's why T.I. magically keeps getting out of jail even though he's a felon, has a connection to Hollywood, went from 0 to 100 in his career, did a snitch commercial and still succeeded in the culture. They tryed to get Flip out the way since he was an enemy and Flip, And forever Stained T.I.'s name as a snitch🌈🐀. Hes the 1st one that exposed him to the light. there's a spiritual battle in the Entertainment business that will test your morals, code, self worth, and your faith in GOD. They say the machine that helped T.I. is the same 1 that got him in this mess with the females.
But Flip's talent kept him alive and they couldn't cut his bread because of how God test a Texas 🤠 rapper in the independent lifestyle and the Hustle mentality he develops without selling out.
Scarface is one you should do.. Scarface is probably my favorite rapper but I feel even though he a legend he kinda slept on because I don't hear his name when it comes to top 5 doa.. also Project Pat is another one you should do.. keep up the grind home✊🏽
