@@lunarnocturne Same. Speaking of the issues with the story. Second Son also bothered me in that it decided that all conduits can control and absorb matter. Which begs the question on what the hell Alden, and Bertrand were.
I noticed that with all 3 Conduits in this game. I guess Sucker Punch decided to go full X-Men for this one lmao. My issue with the powers isn't the capabilities, though. My issue is how there's no explanation on how anyone got those powers in the first place. Those whom carry the Conduit Gene are extinct. Did Delsin, Fetch, and Eugene get their powers from a Ray Sphere detonation? Was there lingering Ray Field Radiation? It's never explained and that frustrates me to this day.
@@lunarnocturne my theory is that the ray sphere was not what created the conduit gene it was only created to jump start the gene's activation. I say because Kesler was the only one who created the ray sphere in the first place which could also mean that the sphere didn't exist in Kesler's time line. And if it didn't exist then how did Kesler get his powers in first place?
Part of me thinks Augstian didn’t know about the RFI and blames the government for the conduits’ deaths and never learned about Cole’s sacrifice and how he stop the plague
@@lunarnocturne like she might have saw the conduits die at the ending of Infamous 2 and thought the government killed them and never learned what truly happened to them, and seem to think the government did it,and it’s part of the sentence she said before her final fight with Delsin. And that’s my theory, but it’s the best I can think of since she never mentioned the RFI or have the country know what happened with the conduits who died at the ending of Infamous 2
7:25 there was some sense but not in the way you would think, Zeke broke the RFI when team Cole almost died after it was activated so he might have fix it but not in a 100% perfect condition and there might've been slight complications, hence why the Conduits Gene still exist. inFAMOUS Second Son's settings are perfect for both timelines like Kessler's timeline and Cole's timeline. i think i like it better if the first inFAMOUS game (which i pick Second Son as the first one and then 1 and 2) happened in Kessler's dystopian timeline if he never went back in time, which by the way his plan was kinda dumb like Cole not undrerstanding the whole specifics of futuristic technology and experiments the first sons have and how it works scientifically and Kessler learning it in decades just to plot his plans for his younger self and eleminate his loved ones just to tough him up as the ruthless savior he failed to be, which defeats the purpose of time traveling since most people wants to save their loved ones, not kill them. the DUP could've exist there, Augustine's backstory could've makes sense when her story started with her army unit went there to fight the beast, Second Son and First Light still happens. but no, this is what we got. the result of what sucker punch has made when they go mortal kombat timeline shenanigans and look how that turned out? Putting on a vote for which ending doesn't seem right and they still doing it with Ghost of Tsushima. And most fans would rather go for evil ending just to make second son feels fit for their headcanon as that is what sucker punch original plan for Delsin's game... which is also a mistake by going PROTOTYPE 2 with Alex Mercer be the villain (a hero from previous game) and James Heller be the Hero (the replacement) and look how that game turned out to be? gone, just like the MK franchise that i mention before. this is the most consistent thing that i come up with if there is a chance to reboot the franchise because there's so many plot holes that bug me so much since i became a fan of inFAMOUS a decade ago. Although it's highly unlikely since sucker punch wants to make Ghost of Yotei because of SONY's orders and i have this dreadful feeling that they'll ended up like ubislop going for the "AC shadow" move.
Awesome video. Nice to see the infamous franchise get some well deserved love. 1 and 2 are prob my fav games of all time. Fingers crossed for a remaster or remake
Very entertaining retrospective. Only thing I want is a lot more of you talking about your experiences and memories. I want to know much more about how you felt about things the first time you played vs the second time. I wanna know more things like what was your favorite moves and so on. There was some of that sprinkled in there but I wanna know more about YOU equally with the game itself. I like the very easy to flow way you told the events in the story the most though. Was very easy to digest. Aye this joint was good.
I've definitely been trying to fit my experiences with whatever game I'm covering in these retrospectives but for whatever reason, i have a lot of trouble fitting that into the script. I'm gonna try doing that in future vids though after looking over completed drafts and everything else. Thanks so much for the feedback, man. Helps me improve my game. Glad you enjoyed 👌🏾
That's a valid point now that I think about it in the first infamous game we learned so much about cole which I don't know why they didn't do that with Delson also I kind of wish that they talked about their parents that would have been interesting to see as well
To be honest i really do like infamous second son sure it has some flaws but i believe it's because they wanted us to see how different second son is to the other two infamous games if i compare second son to the two infamous games then honestly I'll just have a problem with it but no matter what second son is it's own game and I'm okay with that
I think they were also trying to see what they could with in terms of the new tech with the PS4, and I'd say they did a good job and it was well worth it. Hell, we got Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch too!
@@lunarnocturne my theory was the fact the plague turn into a new sytring of conduit genes I mean the plague was cause by radiation from the ray sphere explosion my guess some people awaken to the new sytring right away or go on being dormant and pass on it to their kids

Well, this is an opinionated review, after all. I felt like the game lacked a lot of things that made the previous two enjoyable (not saying I wanted SS to be a total clone). What I did like about Second Son was its more cinematic approach. Lots of dynamic camera cuts, more action in the cutscenes- it looks and presents pretty good. Hell, Seattle is really pretty when the game switches to night time. I'm glad this game has a camera mode too. I also love the navigation. Moving around with the Neon set feels pretty cathartic, especially if you're bouncing off of objects and doing some light parkour. It feels and looks fluid, doubly so during combat, when you get the drop on enemies.
And despite all it's flaws, I'd still immediately buy a PS5 if they announced another Infamous game.
I'd probably buy one. To me, the PS5 doesn't have a lot of titles that are worth shelling out hundreds of dollars for right now.
