Thank you for taking the time to make these videos, and showing a side that most channels don’t do. The realistic side of traveling and making plans/ reservations is not always fun in the moment.
The Eurail pass has changed in the last 20 years. I don’t recall having to make any seat reservations. I just hopped on and off back then. Thanks for the info and for posting the travel costs after each video. Glad to hear you both passed the hump and are enjoying your trip around the world. Would love to hear more about Google voice and how it’s working when you get the chance. Continue blessings throughout your trips.
You're right--I recall the same! And yes, happy to keep being open about our travel costs--it helps us know how things are going with our budget too :D And yes! We've been using Google Voice and it's been going well so far, alongside our eSIM card. We will definitely make a video on this soon, sorry to make you wait! To sum up, we no longer use Google Fi because it isn't compatible with our iPhone, we transferred our numbers to Google Voice and still are able to receive phone calls/texts, and get our data through a global eSIM card.
I'm very late to your journey but I subscribed, sorted by date and am now following along on your trip. You guys are wonderful! So enjoy watching you. We are headed to Venice in July and staying in the Castello neighbourhood in an airbnb. Can you remember the name of the place you had wine by the canal? We are going for a month throughout Italy and France and want to save $ by cooking and eating in our apartments, but the idea of a glass of wine right beside the canal is lovely, especially outside of the tourist areas.
We use safety wing - we haven’t had to file a claim yet (thank goodness for that!) so I can’t really give a comprehensive review, but they had good other reviews and the signup process is really nice.
If you do end up signing up, you could use our link, it helps us out and keeps us on the road a bit longer :) if not, no worries - thanks! safetywing.com/nomad-insurance?referenceID=lisaandjosh&Ambassador
Great videos as always, but quick question I'm going to Iceland in 4 weeks and hopefully multiple countries after,do you have to sign up to enter each Europe country ?
Some countries yes, some countries no. It also depends how you are getting from one to the other - train, plane, ferry - and which country you might be transiting through. Too many variables to answer this directly - sorry. You’ll want to use Sherpa - apply.joinsherpa.com/travel-restrictions?affiliateid=lot for each leg of your trip for the most up to date info. Also, the reopen EU site has good detailed info. reopen.europa.eu/en
Are you going to Switzerland from Genoa? O_O Ok, Genoa definitely deserves to be visited, but wouldn't it have been better to visit Milan and then leave for Zurich - if I have not misunderstood the final destination is Interlaken - by train? It will take you 6 or 7 hours - you know, there are those little mountains called Alps in the middle -. Anyway, good luck, if Italy seemed expensive to you, wait until you buy a cappuccino in Switzerland!
haha you understood correctly! We stopped in Milan for just a bit, but made it to Interlaken after a long day of travel. And yes, we know! Not sure why we decided to front load all the more expensive places first :)
