We loved Cannaregio! One of the bartenders we had convinced me to try their fried sardine cicheti...it was incredible and definitely not something I would have tried otherwise. FWIW we were there at the end of March and did not find it unreasonably crowded. I loved Venice and can’t wait to get back.
Try the far eastern end of Venice, by the Parco delle Rimembranze. It's a lot quieter than Cannaregio, and a real localsy area. And it's got a park! How cool is that?
Great vid. We love Cannaregio. It is our favourite area of Venice and if you visit in January like we have done a few times you feel like you have the place to yourself. Bliss! Our go-to restaurant is always Jewish restaurant Gam Gam (although we're not Jewish ourselves). It's on the main Cannaregio canal and serves really good food with loads of veggie options 😊
Great video-We’ll keep it mind for our next visit. Enjoyed meeting you last fall in Florence. Thanks for the chat and tour. We went back to that restaurant you recommended 3 times.
Thank you so much for your wonderful video! We visited this area last summer- so happy we did, because with the pandemic who knows when we will be able to go back there again. I hope they are doing OK there! Just by watching your video, I felt like I was back in Venice. The Jewish Museum was a terrific tour of the synagogues and they have an amazing gift shop.
Great Video. I created the 1st Venetian WIne Bar (Bacaro) in the United States back in 1997. It was called BAR CICHETTI , and was on Houston Street in Greenwich Village. As usual, I was way ahead of everuone else. Daniel NYC .
This was a fun one to film. Venice is such a unique and amazing city. I hear travelers say bad things about Venice and its not their fault. It's hard to find the local and uncrowded areas. This mission of our neighborhood series is to change that.
Surely I can't be the first to notice that the Italian kid can throw a football better than the American, right? :) All kidding aside, this is a really informative and well done video. We're staying in Cannaregio for three days in the Spring and this is exactly the kind of video I was hoping was out there on RUclips. Thanks for the great info!
My husband and I are heading to Italy in early March. He has a conference in Rome starting the 9th, but we will have a week before to travel to Venice, Florence etc. I love history, looking forward to seeing something off the beaten tracks. I also love gardens and nature. Coming from Northern USA, March is pretty cold, what should we expect weather wise from Venice to Rome in early to mid March?
It will definitely be more pleasant than Northern USA. Mild with some rain. You can definitely get lucky with t-shirt or light jacket weather in March. Have you been before? Off-the-beaten path is great, but visiting the Vatican and Colosseum is a must. Also, during that period you should have the sites largely to yourselves. Check out our tours thetourguy.com/tours
Greatly admire your pronunciation! in Italian! Please refrain from referring to the great artist as “Da Vinci”. It is best to simply say “Leonardo”. Cheers!😊
I remember being there and getting invited to Shabbat dinner at the Chabad house which was really awesome
Excellent tour guide of CANNAREGIO JEWISH GHETTO of VENIZIA😀😃😄
Thanks so much. We love that neighborhood
Keep showing us the other side of the tourist cities. Wish I had been to this side of the city when I visited. Feels real authentic.

This was ideal. I am actually going to be in Venice for a week in a few days. This is an area I wanted to visit and learn more about. Thank you.

We’re staying in Cannaregio in two weeks. Choose it for the local feel ,and quieter for sure! Great video love them all !
Great video-We’ll keep it mind for our next visit. Enjoyed meeting you last fall in Florence. Thanks for the chat and tour. We went back to that restaurant you recommended 3 times.
Another spot to add to my Italian tour,
thank you bro
This is fantastic--I just booked a hotel room in Cannaregio (coincidentally) and now I am really excited to explore the area thanks to your video.
My favourite place in Venice! I did not know where the word "Cannaregio" comes from. Thanks a lot
Yea.. it's not a "definite" origin. Just one of the many theories.
I love videos like this!! If you keep diving into local cultures and I'll watch every video
It's packed with awesome information in just 15 minutes!
Actually, your videos are real Gems!
I'll go and enjoy someday. Thanks a lot!
Thank you ! I attended my high school in Canareggio close to the Ponte delle Guglie !!!! Great 👍 video
Thank you so much for the pro tips! I used to live in Venice and loved your picks.
Great video of real Venice. Love it. Brings me back to the 2 (way too short) months I spent there.
Thank you. Check this one out

Your videos are pretty cool. Love the Venice in one day edition. It's very helpful cause I have to do Venice tomorrow and I don't have much time.
Great video. Headed there on April 27. Now I know where I’m going to explore. Thanks!

.
It's a nice place because there are few tourists, if tourists start going there it becomes the same as the rest.
Love this district..... always stay local!
I noticed you said to set your GPS. My GPS didn't work in Venice...lol.

Love your videos!!!! What are your top three favorite all time restaurants in VENICE?

Well done. What about the best located Discounter in the world? Giudecca 🤗

Last question - any tips on getting a shared gondola with others? I’m solo traveling and would like to go with other people - but how?! And where?

Take a traghetto gondola ferry across the Grande Canal. It costs 2€, and it is a proper local experience.

❤
you have taken the real essece of venice . i'm venician, tannks
Thanks so much. I would love to know what you think of our new venice video ruclips.net/video/yWE_AzltasU/видео.html
👏👏✌️🤙
if i dont speak italian will i be wellcome
Of course
Just went to the Ghetto last week.
You need to do something about the subtitles... they are outrageously dump and in accurate ie Cannaregio becomes "norther Canada'!!!
everybody should avoid the words like "the most " ,"the best " "super cool " since nobody can be sure ......
Greatly admire your pronunciation! in Italian!
Please refrain from referring to the great artist as “Da Vinci”. It is best to simply say “Leonardo”. Cheers!😊
🤣
I have stayed in Cannaregio. I would not consider it to be all that Jewish. Given that big Jesuit church!
It’s the HISTORIC Jewish neighborhood
Now Cannaregio will be overrun with tourists because you are telling us to go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you've have improve the pronunciations.........f.e. it is "Cannaredjo" not CannaREggeeeo......
