@@0oMRLEGo0 I hated 100bgecs so that's not really a positive for me. I hated the vocals on 100 Gecs and it's very annoying to listen to. I think other hyperpop is better tbh
@@illford finally someone with common sense. nowadays music fans think anything different is automatically good. gecs' vocals objectively suck, the lyrics are hard to hear, and there's no structure or catchiness to most of their songs. those are objectively bad musical qualities. hyperpop is a good genre in concept but there needs to be better execution.... it could potentially change a track from being awful to great imo

my favorite music channel right now
The only criticism that I really have for your channel is that some of the looping videos that you use for filler get really stale when the video is almost 20 minutes long. Like I would definitely have some footage for when you're talking and there aren't any graphics to bring up, but it gets kind of mind-numbing when you play the same clip twenty+ times in a video. Your Drain Gang and Tread videos don't really seem to have this problem as much as your videos that focus on a single album, so I'm guessing it has to do with not being able to find enough footage for a specific project, but I don't know. It probably helps you put out videos faster. Anyways, I think this would greatly improve your videos. :)

This is literally one of my favorite albums of the last decade.
Farrah's lyrics really provide this forum that lays out the misery of the sort of perverted fame that she was thrust into at a young age. The bleakness of the music on here also adds to this feeling. It's so dissociative and compelling.
Also listening to it at 1.5 speed is insane

@@illford To me what makes the instrumentation work is how hyperreal and dissociated it is from the singing. It's cold and artificial, and really compliments the album's thematic bleakness. I totally get it tho.

Love this video so much!!! Everyone shits on farrah not realising that she's a reality tv character. Also her songs are avante garde masterpieces that i listen to unironically
Edit: farrah's music is just fascinating to me, it follows virtually none of the rules or principles of standard contemporary music, and yet is clearly crafted with intention. It reminds me of "The Shags" debut album where they obviously had no idea how to write music but what they made was fascinating anyway.
it's a concept album. if you evaluate it in a traditional way, it's horrible, it's awful, it's incompetent, it's torture, it's a deformed abomination. BUT... it's fascinating. listening to it is an experience.
it's some kind of "wave" or "punk" that can't be described. I mean like vaporwave, synthwave, cyberpunk, steampunk. well, this thing is something-wave or something-punk, but I can't tell what that something is, maybe it hasn't been invented yet, it sounds dark and futuristic. like the kind of thing that would play in a futuristic dystopia. maybe in 2050 they'll talk about this album like "can you believe somebody did this in 2012? they were ahead of their time!", like if we found a record made in 1910 that had elements of 80s rock.
I'm not saying it's good, but in some insane way, it makes you feel things, while some good records by good artists can be totally "meh" and not make you feel anything.
This was an interesting analysis. I'm surprised by how much slack you gave it, but it kinda made sense in the end. From what I've listened to, the album's total garbage, but I still appreciate your greater consideration of its potential value.

I've seen this album a few times over the internet and something about it really unsettles me
It is actually one of the few albums making me cry. It sure has inspired modern music. I don't always love the modern music but it needs to change all the time. This album is musical revolution. It is painful because the change is painful. This album will be remembred as a big game changer.
