Honestly most of what you explained is pretty much a normal Tuesday for gacha games at this point. But I agree on the buffs not carrying over being not so good. It genuinely gotta go. Like even I when I play gachas I do that but it's my choice, with this it seems that type of playstyle is reinforced on you. I really hope they don't do that for the final game and they do listen to feedback so let's hope they listen

well,i do,in fact,like turn based rpg's,they give you time to analyze the situation you're in,and come up with the best strategy,and seeing my fav anime become one,i can't wait to play it myself once it's globally released
As someone who has played deep into the beta and played many gacha games, this game has very good potential. The combat system is great and the animations are some of the best you’ll find in the industry. The story is great like Globku mentioned and I have nothing more to add on to that aspect. The gacha is alright, the rates aren’t the highest to be completely honest. The leveling is very good! Especially when it comes to limit breaking characters. I’m not sure if it’s a beta only system but like globku mentioned, all dupes can be obtained from the companionship system. This is completely unique to this game and is incredibly generous for a gacha. My biggest complaint was the lack of content and although it was a beta I still feel like it can’t be ignored. Another thing i dislike is that the pvp is not realtime and when you fight an opponent you’re just fighting an AI using that person’s characters and gear. That’s about all I have to say about the game. If you’re not a huge gacha person and don’t know much about the genre, what I can say to you is that this game is very promising.
If you've played Isekai Memories, it's pretty much the same. Would've been 100% if the combat was an open rpg combat like tales of arise.

I played the game for the full closed beta i managed to get all the characters and two teams at level 100 with gear. I really like it but i do agree that they could add in a few more things to make it unique.

I played the beta and loved it. As a big Black Clover fan I was so happy to see we got a quality game. I haven't played many turn based games so to me this one felt very nice. Had a lot of fun with the full week I spent with it
It's nice to see a quality game especially after Bandai's Phantom Knights disaster

The whole free dupes from affinity from using characters seems very very generous, which makes me worried about the lifespan on the game. normally gachas which are super generous don't tend to last too long

Anime like Black Clover, Bleach, Mob Psycho 100 should just go the route of the Naruto Storm series when it comes to games. Imagine the dope potential. Instead we get this shit
that lose of buff between waves might have been a bug. cause if cooldown is taken into account that means buffs should have been aswell
Its very common for RPG games to lose buffs during new waves etc. Some games have different game modes where it does csrry over but most of the time u lose it otherwise the game would be too simple
This looks exactly like SDSGC just in the black clover verse, could be interesting would love to see how the p2w aspects look
I went into it with zero expectations, had very low expectations for it. It blew my mind and is so far the most addictive mobile game i wver playes. I usually play mobile games to pass time, but it ended up taking up all my free time
God I can't wait for this

The anime and the cutscenes are like Minecraft and Minecraft with shaders. Its the same but much beatyfull and that makes the experience go to another level
As someone who has played close to 100 anime mobile games, this seems good but nothing too stellar.
This definitely seems like it will be one of the best recent anime mobile games though. Gameplay is already better then the recent Tokyo Revengers and Eminence in the Shadow mobile game lol
It's being made by the same studio who developed Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross I believe so this was expected. I'd kill for an actual open world Black Clover game though. Maybe one day. It'll make a fun typical gacha for an anime, but won't go much further than that.

Fair review. Though being somebody console player may of made things harder to adjust. Alot of the things here are standard gacha stuff as someone in the comments mentioned. But the points are made are still pretty understanable. Personally, i actually enjoy turn based games, but the wave system isnt really great imo. Still works for me regardless but hoping they improve on the waves.
Quartet knights with the wizard king is the only reason I played it but that’s who I wanna main

i've only dabbled in gacha games, having played 2 or 3 days of the Konosuba one and played a week or three of the One Punch Man title, but i LOVE black clover more than i can justify, so i'll definitely see about picking this one up when it's available. then again, my phone isn't the greatest for games, and most titles like that don't play nice with bluestacks, so unless there's a better mobile emulator i'm not aware of, it'll probably be another case of that fire emblem game from who knows how long ago that never ran properly on my phone.

Is it all buffs? Other gachas I play will usually remove 1turn of buffs when moving stages so I assume that if its a 3turn buff it should carryover 1 turn left of the buff.

That's different from how the anime works so it wouldn't be possible you can't use two grimoires how ever it is possible to combine two but it involves destroying someone else's to do it
Also its probably hard to do since only one character has something like that
yeah that whole buff thing? They do that in Raid: Shadow Legends too (one of the reasons I quit after 6 months lol)
I think that characters should require dupes and ssr pages shouldn't, especially with how the character specific ssr pages have lower rates than the actual characters it belongs to, thats mainly my only complaint.

Hi, I'd recommend you to try Octopath Traveler COTC, incredible mobile game

itll be similar to 7DS Grand Cross. Its the same director, I truly noticed the influence while playing the beta
Dokkan is peak mobile game. Is playing it super fun? Sometimes, its really hard to get into. Is it f2p friendly? Not until a few updates ago. Even though the tutorial is absolutely too long and kinda trash, the free LR does NUMBERS for players and lets you blast through dokkan medal events, letting you use those ssr characters that turn lr for once in a lifetime. For real, ive NEVER EVER had a fully awakened LR until 7th anni (without cheating) and im glad, i have like 30 lrs, 15 fully awakened. Is the gacha riggeed? Yeah probably.

Its a little weird how you say that buffs dont carry over from wave to wave when at 4:13, asta is seen carrying buffs over from a wave to wave transition.
Yeah I see that,I think those “un carried buff” is just the buff is gone within that turn? Aka the buff timer/turn counter ran out ?
In that clip Asta was supposed to still have a second buff for 2 turns but it wore off after the wave changed. That's what he's talking about, the fact that the speed buff didn't wear off was probably a bug.
I love RPGs, they take me in new worlds with interesting mechanics, but nowadays they're excuses to not make a battle system.

My fave
As an avid F2P gacha player since my teen years, I do think I can pinpoint what's the exact problem with games like this one and why they don't allow for a good F2P user experience:
Most Gachas that are considered "F2P friendly" are ones that actually make use of the fact these are generally team games and offer room for creative comps.
Arknights, Genshin, and more recently Counter;Side (who's like a Korean Age of Wars) are all games that give utility to more than 50% of their cast since you can always find something new or cool to try without having to pay. (Although you do need dedication, but that's like... every game that has farming ever.) (Also not talking about the Gacha itself but what you can do without summoning top-tiers.)
So strict turn-based RPG where you don't have much room for creativity and some are your characters will just get bodied without you even being able to do anything to prevent your loss are the least F2P friendly since they have the least room for error or originality.
(The only exception to this trend I can find is Brave Frontier who's the oldest gacha around, I know about, and who has like a trillion good characters and gives you legendary guys really easily.)
(Saint Seiya Knights of the Zodiac started out also fine thanks to some common characters being really good. But power-creep happened.)

But since I do know a thing or two about Gachas, as a player, I thought it'd be cool to share it here.
I first played brave frontier rpg when I was like 7, and carried on playing until I was like 13. Honestly you've just made me want to pick the game back up it was the best gacha I've ever played

Actually they tried to make a sequel to BF but it was badly received so as a tribute, the devs put the US version of the game back in the store.

I'll be honest, I REALLY just want a "Storm" or "Xenoverse" style game, but for Black Clover, the series and world is great, and is practically built and begging to have games made for it-
But they keep making games where the genre just doesn't match with the show-
I wouldn't even mind a real time RPG Black Clover game, if anything I would love it, maybe slightly more linear than a traditional RPG, but more dynamic than a turn-based one, just something that's true to the series with some level of fast action and the ability to do combo/team attacks, possibly even something more strategy oriented or an immersive sim-
But so far we have a gacha turn-based RPG, and a...third person shooter with no lock on and limited mobility?
Let us fly, let us use anti-magic to cancel incoming attacks like Asta would, and let us move fast without getting disoriented by a difficult camera. It can be a fighting game, an RPG, even a strategy game-
Just make a Black Clover game that actually feels like Black Clover-
