Is Lilith in Episode 8 an Imposter in Hazbin Hotel?

- Did you notice this in Hazbin Hotel?
During episode 8 at the very end we saw a glimpse of lilith at a beach somewhere, perhaps in heaven with lute asking for help.
There’s an interesting theory that this isn’t the real lilith, but an imposter. I’ll break it down.
So in every portrait of lilith we see that she has a white bead necklace around her neck.
However in episode 5 during the flashback where her face is obscured, she isn’t wearing the necklace.
In lilith’s trading card she isn’t wearing the necklace. And in episode 8 she’s wearing a different necklace.
So if we put two and two together, it’s likely that the lilith we see is an imposter, perhaps eve. And the way we can tell who’s who is if they’re wearing the white bead necklace.

I was gonna say, the theory that this isn't Lewis would be interesting, if there was any evidence to support it. Simply saying that this isn't low because she decided for a new necklace doesn't seem plausible
It must have something to do with Liliths eyes. Every time we see her we can’t see her eyes. That must be the key to pretty much everything. In some portraits she has red eyes some she has purple and in her iconic portrait she has whiteish eyes
Could be. Maybe Lillith and Eve look the same like twins. Lucifer did mention that he took both of Adam's wives away from him during their fight. Perhaps Charlie is actually Eve's daughter and not Lillith's. Maybe that's why she left Lucifer. She could stand raising a child that wasn't hers anymore.

@@donni1863 none of the portraits show Lilith with horns, like Charlie, they might only come out when she's angry or she might not have them at all (unlikely, but it's most likely that she only has them when she's in a more demonic form)

I think they’re going to have a crazy reveal and here’s how I think it’ll go:
“Lilith” comes back and reunites with Charlie, she’s ecstatic but vaggie and friends feel something’s off
This goes on for a little bit until hopefully Alastor(because he’s amazing) exposes her as someone else (I think it’s Eve)
Then Charlie has a flashback and it goes from happy moments with her real mom and then that blurred out face is shown as the impostor.
SUMMARY: impostor comes back and tricks group, someone exposes them and Charlies upset which makes them fight song style

In hazbin hotel, however to the hazbin hotel wiki page lilith is the inner demon of eve. but it hasnt appeared in the show so im not sure if its cannon or not

I think the necklace was more like a ring, a symbol of Lilith and Lucifer’s love. As their relationship deteriorated, she stopped wearing the necklace to show she lost her love for him. Maybe the black necklace signals love for another?
That's like saying, "This lady divorced her husband, and she stopped wearing her wedding ring. But in every picture prior to the divorce, she had it on. This must mean she is a CLONE"💀
Not really? Lucifer still wears his wedding ring so they had that already.
Vivzie said a couple times before that she likes to design the characters with things in their necks because she’s fond of chokers or other neck accessories, so you can trust this is not a simple design choice, it definitely has a meaning, whether means she’s not the real Lilith or just that she moved on to another phase in her life.
This would be the equivalent of changing Alastor’s microphone to a sword or Angel’s pink clothes for blue, for example, you know that this is a design choice that represents the character somehow.
Problem is she's wearing her ring in every photo she's in, smiling and Lucifer still wears the ring yet in the photo of "Lilith" not only is she not wearing the ring, she's also got her face obscured and has a smile just like Eve along with the same hairstyle as Eve was depicted having. It's literally just paying attention to ques left behind.
yeah this was a really bad theory. its like saying in the final fight, the characters werent actually the og characters cause they had different outfits.
@@vSickx different outfit ≠ different design pattern. Lilith wears pearls in EVERY. Single. Picture she is in, even using different outfits in each picture, and for some reason she does not whenever her face is removed.
It’s not a bad theory at all. They got different outfits in the finale for the fight however you didn’t see Charlie wearing blue or Angel wearing black.

You gonna make the lore whores angry with this one, I am a lore whore but although I can kinda see this happening (think of the MLP clips where things weren't drawn properly or were forgotten) but I think the hair is more important to focus on. But the necklace? That could 100% be them forgetting and when they remembered they drew the wrong one

I think it's more to do with the eyes.
We have yet to see "Lilith's" eyes except in portraits, even in the flashback she had a blank face and on the beach she's wearing sunglasses.
Hazbin Hotel has a HUGE Eye motif, if you pay attention there are a LOT of eyes in the background especially during "Loser Baby" and Alastor's solo in "Finale". It's interesting that the eyes are hidden of one of the most anticipated characters

hazbin hotel fans upon learning people can take off necklaces
This is one of the biggest stretches for content I’ve seen in a bit
It's still bizarre that in Charlie's flashback with Lilith as well as her rare card she's oddly devoid of detail and doesn't look anything like the literal pictures of Lilith we have. Either the Lilith in Charlie's memories and the card wasn't Lilith or whoever is supposed to be Lilith isn't Lilith. I don't understand why they obscured her features in that episode and card. It's not like we didn't have an idea of what she looked like. Plus I just have no idea why on earth Lilith would choose to abandon hell for 7 years when every piece of information we have implies she embraced and thrived in hell....just weird.
even though we already know what lillith looks like, people think her facial features are gone because it’s supposed to resemble charlie forgetting what she looks like since she hasnt seen lillith in 7 years. sometimes removing facial features is used to show that the character is being forgotten. i dont know if vivzie ever confirmed that but i think its a cool theory.
They blurred her feature in the card to be cool, but in the show it makes sense. It's not because they want to "hide" what she looks like, it's because it was CHARLIES flashback. That's how she views her mother, she didn't really know her. She said vague yet eerie memory.
@7ALEKS_ but if you take a look at the foyer of the hotel in episodes early on, there is a family portrait of Lillith, Lucifer and Charlie at the top of the stairs. In the episode where we meet Lucifer for the first time, as Vaggie is coming down the stairs you can see the bottom of the portrait.

I noticed that in each portrait of the family, Lilith’s smile becomes smaller and she is more and more distant from Lucifer and Charlie

Also, it might be just me, but do you guys also see the difference of her hair? I mean, on the portraits she has a lighter hair color, and in the flashback and on the card her hair color is a little darker(browner? lol). Also, there is a little difference in their hair forms: in the portraits, lilith has her hair combed back, however in Charlie's flashback she has her hair parted.

Two theories i have regarding this:
1. Lillith and Eve look incredibly similar (being the first women). So this could be Eve and Lute is telling her to go pretend to be Lilith. (The way Lute say the name is weird)
2. (First part still applies) Eve and Lilith switched places. So this is actually Lilith but other angels in heaven think it is Eve.

Yeah I agree with your 1 theorie, I also thought it was suspect the way Lute was talking with “Lilith” , especially when saying her name, it like she was implying to that character TO BE Lilith like when a direct say to a actor TO BE their character on the movie or serie.
I think Lute saying Lilith’s name was her seething, not only did she watch the friend she cared about die, but to her Charlie caused disorder in heaven. By the looks of it she really hates demons. I don’t think they switched places because if they were why wasn’t Eve in contact with either Lucifer or Charlie to keep up appearances. Also in their fight Adam doesn’t react when Lucifer mentions Lilith, as he probably knows where she is, but reacts when he mentions Eve. Meaning that Adam hasn’t seen her but that is a sore subject for him.

The necklace is nothing just look at the hair styles
Pay attention to Lilith hair in the pictures with Lucifer
Then look at the hair in the scene where she taking Charlie away notice the difference?
Go back to the flashback of Lucifer giving Eve the apple look closely to her hair then go back to the scene and you will see they are exact
Also Lilith card looks more like Eve in the flashback cause all we get is her smile we already know what Lilith looked like
So how come they hid her face in that scene where she taking Charlie? They never once hit her face at all in the show
But who do they do hide? Eve they never show her face not once or at least a clear look other then her smile
So it is possible they swapped places and that is the real lilith because that tone means she not who she saids she is she made it clear if she wants to stay there proving she doesn't belong
They probably got a devorice because she not the real lilith she went from being happy with him to hating him? What if something happened to Lilith and Eve been pretending the whole time? Or what if they both swapped places or what if something happened to Eve?
But the difference in the hairs and the way they hid her face makes me believe they swapped places and something probably happened to Eve in hell given we never see her
It is possible Lilith did something to Eve so she can take her place in Heaven since they looked alike Adam found out the difference and was going to do something but they had a deal that she can continue pretending to be Eve if he can exterminate the sinners in hell
But I really think the woman in the scene who take Charlie away is Eve because she looks a lot like Eve then Lilith it could be the reason why she kept trying to take them apart and why Eve seems so supportive of Charlie's plan of redeeming sinners I don't see Lilith being that way it is possible Eve has something to do with her wanting to redeem sinners and all

I'm betting it's more an indicator of her motives and mood. She was soft and kind,pure like the pearls at first. As she became disillusioned, she lost that rich joy, and eventually exchanged it for something sharp and dark.
Also the Lilith with the white pearly necklace always has a warm expression, but other times we see her (without her pearly necklace) she is more cold and looks annoyed that she has to be in portraits with her husband and daughter (and Lilith with her pearly necklace is smiling and looking happy to be there with her family)

I think you are right. Eve is Charlie's mother. Charlie doesn't know that, and/or has blocked out her memories hence the lack of a face. That will be one of the big reveals of the show and it will ultimately screw Alastor because he doesn't realize that Charlie's real mother is Eve and therefore cannot help free him from Lilith. Lilith probably loathes Charlie, a reminder of Lucifer's betrayal. So she cuts a deal setting forth the extermination in exchange for kicking it in heaven. It also sets up a journey for Charlie to find Eve, who is now the "root of all evil" aka "roo."

Also there is a thing that not many ppl pointed out but on the pictures in the background of the hotel in the family pictures Lilith has white and yellow eyes and in the one with the Von eldritch family she has a disgusted face with red and white eyes. Which is really weird, but it looks similar to the eyes Charlie and Lucifer get when they are in their demon forms.
That‘s because she took Charlie as little child away, the „family“ picture is where Charlie is older, so they was already broken up together, that‘s why she is „disgusted“. But to make an false royality to keep the „minions of hell“ quiet, they playing „happy family“ to show the royals are still „ok“.
I like the idea that it's actually Eve, and in Hazbin, Lilith and Eve are sisters.

Even her hair is different in the flashback
I mean some would say that we don't see Liliths and Eves face but we do,we see Liliths in pictures. And every time Eve is on screen she has that wide smile and flowing hair. I went back to the story at the start of ep1, and Liliths hair was not moving while Eve's was flowing, we see the same flowing hair when "Lilith" takes Charlie away from Lucifer, now knowing that the necklaces are different too I think it's intentional that the two are different.
Yeah, Eve=Evil? Seems to be the direction we're headed in. Yeah, Eve's hair is flowing constantly while Lilth's is just constantly swooped back straight.

Me personally I think the woman in the flashback was eve, if u look at ep 8 Adam vs lucifer, lucifer says both of adams wives liked him and maybe he wasn’t joking. Also Adam got really mad when he said this hinting at the possibility that’s it’s true. And the woman we see in ep 8 is Lilith without the necklace lucifer gave her, she left him after she found out he got with eve aswell.
we could also mention how the Lilith in the pictures has a normal nose...but the Lilith on the beach in Episode 8 has the same nose with a black spot that Charlie has

It's insinuated that not everybody knows the true story, and that if something happened, it was definitely an affair and not actually being married. He gave her the apple, but he's hiding something that happened after and the world believes Charlie is Lillith's and not Eve's, and only Lucifer and Lilith know and have kept it from Charlie. @@canyouthefandango3220
There's a legend that says the tears eve cried when she left heaven became pearls - could be a reference to similar. She doesn't wear them since she struck her deal and is allowed in heaven/eden/wherever she is?
They're also common wedding gifts, so easily could be symbolising the before and after divorce times

This is legitimately how you identify Carmen Sandiego in the educational game I had as a child.
And strangely enough, based one of 2 images ever drawn of the character, Roo (an upcoming villian that Vivziepop had been teasing since 2019) looks pretty darn similar to Carmen herself.
I think there’s more to that character design than just being a simple “design choice”.
First of all, That's an interesting theory, maybe the necklace was gift from Lucifer or Charlie so iconic only they would notice.

When alastor is telling Charlie that he knows something she doesn’t in ep 7 you can hear the little whistle that plays when Lilith is revealed
It's also interesting that Charlie hasn't heard from her mom in 7 years, which is also the amount of time Alastor was gone.

Saw a theory that said the possible imposter for Lilith could be eve. I think that eve wanted revenge against Lilith for tricking her into eating the apple and creating the original sin. Plus I can imagine her feeling some kind of resentment towards Lilith because originally she was supposed to be Adam’s wife, but she got to escape and make a happy life for herself with a loving husband and daughter while eve was stuck with Adam( who I imagine would suck at being at dad bc he sucks in general ) I think that Eve wants revenge on the entire Morningstar family which is why she got rid of Lilith, separated Charlie from Lucifer when she was little so he’d be alone with no connection to his family and is probably controlling Alastor as a way of keeping tabs on charli now that shes older-

A good show communicates things through character design, music, setting e.g. I would believe that it's a because of her separation with Lucifer if the pearl necklace was just missing, however the way they gave her a new, non-generic necklace, which is clearly intentional seeing as the headshot of a character is usually one of the first things you notice especially given the angle they used in that scene, says to me theres something more. There is clearly a deeper reason than she just happened to wear that necklace because she likes necklaces. Do i think shes a clone? Nah, but its interesting.
For me a good pointer is that through EP5 you see Lilith in the background pictures all the time, hell one even has focus on it.
But the actualy woman is shown with as little details as possible. And in EP8 her hair and eyes are also covered. The outlines of both Lilith and Eve are very similair in EP1, only the hair seems a bit different.
And Lilith's card looks a lot like Eve

I think it’s more of a representation that she is not the same loving person she was at the beginning of her and Lucifer’s relationship, her not wearing the necklace shows her going through change and now wearing a spiked diamond necklace means her intentions and feelings are different than before

I think there's something to at least the final necklace scene.
The shot composition wants you to focus on it, it's dead center. It's a bright red and covered in sharp angles, much like a bloody dagger. While Lute is baring everything, the only thing mystery ma'am is openly touting is the necklace. Like a trophy or brazen act of pride toward something only she knows of.
My best guess is not that mystery lady is an imposter but rather someone that made a deal with Lilith and is using her body, which would coincide nicely with husk, angel, and alastor breaking the chains of their deal through redemption.

The theory of me and others (other people on youtube have done a lot more research on this): The necklace she wears at the beach is a voodoo medallion which allows the wearer to take anyone for 7 seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc. so even years

There is no way they have Adam and mention the moment Lucifer seduced Eve without having her as a character in the series. This theory makes sense to, when you think about the fact she ate fruit from the tree of knowledge. She is likely capable of masquerading as anyone she wants. I'm looking forward to the 2nd season already.

My possible theory is that the necklace that "Lilith" is wearing is actually a disguise necklace. Eve has Lilith locked up somewhere and is pretending to be her to destroy Hell. The real Lilith is probably locked or trapped, which is why she can't answer Charlie's phone calls or leave a voicemail. And Eve made a deal with Lute and Adam just so she can stay in Heaven since we don't know what happened to Eve after she ate the forbidden fruit. (Did Eve or Lilith eat that? I forgot)
I think the show contradicts it. In their fight Adam doesn’t react when Lucifer bragged about stealing Lilith from him, with the ending giving context, Adam didn’t care because he knew where Lilith is. But he reacted negatively when Lucifer brought up Eve. Adam probably hasn’t seen Eve in years and is a sore subject for him.

I do find it interesting that Adam didn’t rub it in Lucifer’s face that he knows where Lilith has been in the past 7 years. That guy does have a big mouth.
Though I think Adam is mostly meant to be one dimensional I know why he would be angry. Because Lucifer giving Eve the apple it led to her and Adam being kicked out of paradise. Not only did he face hardship for the first time but later his eldest son Cain killed his other son Abel. Idk if that will be in the show. I think Lilith has another reason for leaving though why would probably be revealed later.

I guess compared to necklace the hair line difference is more realistic in terms of imposter theory. Her hair line in the flashback was so randomly like eve's? It's animation nothing is done without notice. Her hair didn't randomly get drawn like eve's. It was intentional to bring this much notice to the hair. They could've gone with her normal but they didn't. They had shown her face earlier in pics why blur it now with a hair difference. They all looked so happy in the portraits. Her smile was also like eve's in the first episode in the trading card. Why is lucifer still wearing his ring and lilith isn't in the trading card and that art that just dropped by viv. Though I believe the one at the beach is the real lilith. Her and lucifer have separated (not divorced taking a break from a 10000 smthng years of being together) due to misunderstandings caused by the said imposter in flashback who I believe is eve. Adam got such a big role ya think they just forgot abt eve? They probably threw her down to hell for the forbidden fruit incident. She decided revenge and broke off their marriage ( even dragged Charlie away ?).
I still want them to reunite and be madly in live how viv had initially stated maybe I got too attached to that idea.

Or the necklace could be a detail representing her connection to her family or Lucifer and now it’s gone as a show of her separation.
Her being Eve makes the most sense cause while it could be lilth taking it off after the divorce, this isn't really how cartoons work, most of the time outfits stay the same unless it's a big development in the story like the final battle. Vivz has an extreme attention to detail pattern in her show. The suit charlie wears in the pilot is also the suit lucifer wears in a photo. Also if they were divorce why are the pictures still up to show how happy they were? Viviz could have easily removed that detail but she didn’t (it would have saved a lot of work if the photo was just a small photo that lucifer had in his pocket) if it was really lilth why hid her face? Heck we already saw it several tines through the photos, so why the sudden face being hidden all of a sudden? If it was lilth and just hiding her face completely for mystery then shouldn't there have been also shading on the photos to hide her face in the photos too? Also the smile is what throws me off the most, we never see her smile like how Eve does in the beginning. Heck even the pilot had a detail pattern of forseen events of the show

I think it's because Lilith isn't Charlie's mother. I think Charlie's mother is Eve, which is hinted at when Lucifer taunts Adam. The person whose face is is invisible is actually Eve's, and that is why Eve has no face but Lilith does. As Charlie does not know that Eve is her mother.

He could have been saying this just to piss Adam off. Which it kind did. The reason Lilith ran from Adam was because she did not want to be subservient to him like he wanted. While Eve was. Lucifer tho pulled Eve away and gave her free will.
@@humanoidrkangel I would argue that it is VERY CLEAR what he meant. The question you are actually posing is whether or not the statement was truthful or not. At this point in the show Lucifer has proven himself to only be earnest and honest so I do not see this as likely being untruthful, we are talking about a guy that called out his own depression. Now it could be possible he did it to throw Adam off in battle. But if you watched the same climax as me, it was absolutely unnecessary as Adam stood absolutely no chance in that fight. The most likely answer is that Lucifer at one point in time courted both Lilith and Eve. Likely Lilith first and then Eve as she gained the freedom of free will and then she had the freedom to leave Adam. Ultimately becoming "Roo" also known as "the root of all evil" which is a character vivzie designed years ago and whose symbol has been hinted at throughout the pilot and show. This is what will mess up the B plot with alastor as he is unaware that Lilith is not actually Charlie's mother and won't be able to help free his soul when the time comes and he requests his favor.
Or to add to this theory it isn't just an imposter but Eve, Lillith's sister/clone. (Heven isn't known for creativity and it makes sense to copy the proto-type when the original didn't work out with Adam). If the theory is correct about Lillith being the one who suggested giving Eve the apple it would make sense this whole thing is a convoluted revenge plot.

A necklace may not be definitive evidence of an imposter, as characters in this show change clothes, but I'll raise you this instead:
What if it's Eve? Here's some points↓
- In many tellings of the original story, Eve is said to be identical to Lilith
- Eve is one of the only other characters in the series to be purposely obscured, both in her face and a surprising lack of mention from any other character
- Lucifer actively confirms he has slept with Eve, too (in the fight between he and Adam)
- If she ate the fruit and was the true beginning of human sin, this should put Eve in hell, too
- Adam's right hand is Lute, which purposefully puts Eve away from the place where we should expect her to be
- Adam notes that he's sleeping around and partying on his weekends the very first time we hear him talk, so (as if the misogyny isn't enough) we can almost guarantee he's not married anymore (as heaven looks down on cheating)
Not a super solid theory, of course, so feel free to add or debunk in my replies if you'd like. I just think it's odd that Adam was a Frontline character but not his more well known other half.

Lute said her “spawn” when referring to Charlie, so I’m sure that Lute believes that’s actually Lilith. We don’t know the story of why Lilith isn’t in hell, though Charlie did imply in the first episode that she was busy off doing something important. Though whether that means she’s being a double agent in Heaven or a lie to cover up that she got tired of shit in hell, well, we’ll find out eventually I imagine
Also the hair is different. Pearl necklace lillith’s hair is very bright blonde and shwoops back like Lucifer’s, no necklace lilith’s hair/hairline goes down towards her shoulder more (doesn’t shwoop back at all) still blonde but more of a darker light brown shade.
Also how when we see her face, that’s ginger hair. Yes I know shadows play a role but it’s very noticeable way different if they were to use a shadow to show she is shadowed. Also if you look to the far left of her hair all the way, the light hits it making it show that orange
