    For me, the biggest upside of the ZC32S is its handling, absolutely love sending B-roads in particular, the way it shifts its weight and the grip you feel, gives a sensational feeling. Almost feels unnatural when you're fully sending it.

As @stari6840 mentioned, I had the previous generation none sport model as my first car before the sport, I’m glad that I did this because again, any silly mistakes I made weren’t damaging the nice car. But if you want a sport as your first car and you’re set on it, go for it 😎

    I recently bought this, a 5-door variant, after a long search for a Japanese car made in an old-school way. I didn't want any modern downsized engine, no direct injection, shitload of assists and electronics. I wanted a car that would be fun to drive and still have at least 5 doors since I'm not 18 anymore and wanted to keep some practicality.
    The newer generation, and this is just my opinion, looks more like a Mini Cooper to me. The look is just more boring. Of course it runs nice on the straights thanks to the turbo, but there's still something about the old school N/A engines.

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  11 месяцев назад

      Pretty much the exact same as me mate! This is one of the last cars to not have all the electric driver assist crap, can’t stand it. It’ll be honest I also think it looks like an MG3 (I hate saying this) but it looks very similar, all superminis do these days. Dare I also say the old school NA engines will be more reliable as time goes on for the newer charged ones

    I admire your enthusiasm for this model Swift Sport. My Mrs has had her 2014 five door model for a couple of months now and I particularly love it. The only gripes so far is the gear change (which can drive you to distraction) particularly fifth to sixth and back down. It's sometimes a real wrestle. The other thing which is more minor, is the rear doors don't lock into position when fully opened. They keep closing on their own!.
    Apart from that, it's a blinding car and the best looking model in my opinion as well.

    • @fluxington
      @fluxington 11 месяцев назад +1

      I'm sure you're aware that the clicky gear shift is intentional, but the shift mechanism can suffer from worn rubber bushings, and it can be adjusted to deal with stretched/worn cables. However the thing that really fixed my gear change issue was having the clutch bled and there's also the option of trying a gearbox fluid change.

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  11 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks mate :) I would say as @fluxington said about the linkages and fluids. As for the rear doors, as you well know they weigh about 3kg lol I guess over time the check strap wears and it just doesn’t hold anymore, that’s all I can suggest, mine does the same sometimes

    • @andyvondeluxe6851
      @andyvondeluxe6851 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@fluxington Thanks for your input and suggestions. Although the car is nine years old now, it's only done 30k miles and has full dealer history. Regarding the change of gearbox fluid or clutch bleeding, l could understand if it was difficult to get into any gear. However, there's no trouble from first to fourth. It just seems occasionally problematic to get into fifth and sixth and back down again. After going on various forums on the matter, I've come to the conclusion that it's probably the nylon linkage bush that's prone to wear over time.

    • @andyvondeluxe6851
      @andyvondeluxe6851 11 месяцев назад

      @@wallsworkshop l know, they're really light weight. We mainly use the rear door to get the dog into it's soft carrier. It's just a bit of a faff opening the door, picking the dog up to put in and by that time it's closed!! 😬

    • @fluxington
      @fluxington 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@andyvondeluxe6851 Funnily enough, horizontal movement at the gear stick is the only one that's adjustable (from inside the car next to the gear selector), so if the cable is slighty out, it could affect one end of the gears. Also, the horizontal line is the one with the replaceable neoprene inserts in the bushes, which are about £40 each, but you should be able to notice lots of play at either end of the cable and even at the gear stick if they need doing. To get rid of my notchy/difficult gears, I replaced inserts, checked adjustment of cable, lubricated everything and finally got my clutch bled, although mine was more random than two gears.

    In my 20yrs of driving ive owned many many cars and 5 of the have been swift sports, 1 31s 2 32s, 2 33s and i just bought my 3rd 33s which im picking up this coming weekend. I absolutely love all swift sports and just keep going back to them!
    I also agree the 32s is the best looking imo and i actually went to test drive a 32s recently but also decided to test drive a 33s right after and yes the 32s has that old school feel which i love but... the 33 is just so much faster! You might not think that it is but when you drive them back to back the difference is quite brutal. So i had to go with the 33s since is a bit more modern and also the interior feels a bit more "alive".
    But...
    The 32s is and will always be my favorite sss ❤

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  10 месяцев назад

      That's great to hear, you cant say no to an SSS! I always wondered how the 33 drove against the 32 and you confirmed my suspicions about it being faster haha. And yeah 100% the interior is very nicely done in the 33, brings it to the present day nicely. Maybe one day I'll get the chance to drive one, that'll make an interesting video too. 32s will always be my favourite too 😊

    Thinking of selling my Yaris T-Sport soon and I’m torn between a ZC32S or the ZC33S.
    The ZC33S is lighter and has the turbocharged engine, Apple CarPlay etc but a part of me yearns for the ZC32S, the NA engine sounds so addictive at full send and it is definitely the sleeker looking Swift Sport… Much cheaper too!

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  9 месяцев назад

      I think you'll be happy with either model tbh. Pre-Hybrid Models are about 80KG lighter than the ZC32S I think not sure about ones with the hybrid pack. My Biased opinion will tell you to go for the ZC32S haha, carplay and other goodies are easily retrofitted, I'll be doing the same with mine. I've had plenty of turbo cars in last 7 years. Most generally not satisfying everyday after a while, my current car is a golf mk5 gti and I'm so sick of the engine feel off throttle, seems unfixable, tried everything and it just refuses to play smooth. I miss my old zr vvc, my last car I really enjoyed owning.. so this is so tempting without a bloody laggy turbo, just gotta find one to try out.

    This model era are the best looking Swifts by far. The 5 doors are more useful, 3 door may look a tad prettier.
    The seats? Yeah they're great, the SZ4s are too, the former are a bit snug when new, but after a few thousand miles, they break in nicely. The bolster issue is a chore.
    I used to be able to get lots of tuning parts for my MK1 MR2 T Bar, but not for the Swift, unless one imports from Japan🤬🤬🙄🙄
    The Swift is more akin to original mini in some many ways. The thinking man's mini🤔🤔 Eg great handling across the range, great VFM etc etc. Sadly Suzuki's have now crept up in price new😲😕

    • @wallsworkshop
      @wallsworkshop  11 месяцев назад +1

      I agree most people will probably think the 3 door is a bit better looking and I do get why. If it wasn’t for the bolsters these seats would be bob on.
      MK1 t bar MR2 🥵 can’t even remember when I last saw one of them. I must say the parts for these can be annoying with having to import most stuff, best way is to check the uk 2nd hand market for parts that’s how I do it.
      I also agree with that, it does have some telltale signs of it tracing back to something like the classic mini. As well as creeping up in price, loosing the fun engines too :(
