as a long time follower, i love how production went from doing shots yourself, to having another car film you while driving the review car😂🙌🏽 next level stuff, inspiration as always
You finally reviewed my Dream Car, thank you Muzi🙏. I agree with you that its a bit expensive but compared to the competition, not so much. The price jumps because of the crap that was going on with chips plus the fact that this car isnt made in India so like the Vitara its a straight import. Then there is the matter of the engine, the 1. 4L Boosterjet which is Suzuki's most expensive engine. India isnt localizing that Boosterjet anytime soon (they just spent a bomb getting the 1L for the Fronx). I do get you about the price hold though, it might be able to work since the chip problem has improved significantly since 2021, but to be fair on the price increases, they arent arbitrary, all boats rise when the tide is high afterall. I also prefer the auto in this even though ive heard the manual is easy to live with, but I have some frustrating traffic to deal with regularly so I dont think I can take that chance. I also agree that a sound system upgrade is needed, the stock speakers arent the worst but if youre strapped for cash, changing the tweeters to JBL's makes a HUGE difference, trust me. I still contend that overall if you want a sport oriented car that wont try to kill you financially or physically and you dont have over a half million Rand stashed away this is your best bet. Finally I cant believe you got THE car to test drive! Suzuki SA is missing out on the marketing opportunities with that car in the sense of not making it a "Simola Edition" or something like that and putting it on display with some of the decals it had on the day. p. s. Muzi, I asked in your last video how do you decide on when and where to shoot?
The thing is you can get a 7.5 GTI for that money even a polo 7 GTi so haiii I could never spend that much knowing I could get more looking on the 2nd hand market🚶
I remember back in 2020 they were 305k and 315k for the auto. Not sure if it was a special they had going in or not, but i remember them advertising on Facebook and in their website
The best South African car reviewer, in a Mzansi context. Muzi bro, could you make a detailed video about trading in your vehicle. The pros and cons of it. When your car is financed. When your car is not financed. Whether you have balloon payment or not. Please bro 🙏🙏
Suzuki's pride is swift, according to NAAMSA records monthly is among the top 5 of the best selling. Swift sport is my favourite......thank you for the review MJ.👌🏼
I love this car. I would opt for a low mileage secondhand Sport because it's a car you can buy secondhand - It's built to last. One thing of notice is that this car is made in Japan unlike the normal Swifts which are made in India. Nothing wrong with that as I own a GL Swift myself. Great review, great car.
@@mazibukomail True but not to say that the normal Swift made by Maruti is any bad. The Swift has a good reputation for reliability and is quite a solid little car.
That price is crazy hey, it’s a hard No. This chip shortage caused all these price increases. But I know none of them are gonna drop their prices when it ends. This is a “get used to it” type of middle finger.
Suzuki is pulling a VW on us with the constant increasing of prices. The Tiguan 1.4 R-Line went from R645k to literally R744k right now! A massive R99k increase!!!!!!! Therefore, I cannot buy it knowing it increased by so much 😩
Thank you very much, I appreciate your review. We have just purchased this car 2023 in yellow it is for my wife $33,500 (AUD) and looking forward to collecting it this coming weekend. I am keen to feel how this car drives using the paddle shifters and with its sporty turbo it should be fun. Personally I own the exact opposite a 1969 Pontiac GrandPrix 455 stroker it runs at about 12litres per 100km 👀 But Man O Man it’s a real luxury Muscle car for sure! (Yes, I am a crazy mad old school petrol head car lover). Take CARe. Cheers from Western Australia 🇦🇺🤘🏻😎
Insurance: I'd peg it for under 1.5k (Maybe)...I was a tad off by a few hundreds. Great review as always + liking the neat B-roll footage presentations as well. Keep it up 🎊
I think the Price is high however i see most people who likes speed end up with Swift sports, Megane RS or I30 N because peace of mind. I once claimed with Naked and they were quick, i even asked them to pay money into my account so that i can use panel beater of my choice, so far so good after a year and a half.
Had one in Champion Yellow. Bought mine for 290k in 2020. Take it around a Franschhoek Pass, Red Hill, Contermanskloof Rd or Clarence Drive pass. Super fun and can easily keep up (and leave behind) with more powerful cars.
I also just got a Baleno, thanks to Muzi. I am in love with the car. It's so perfect. But as Muzi mentioned, Suzuki needs to work on their sound. It's terrible, especially the Bluetooth connection, it has a lag. The auto car play takes a while to connect too 😪
You can pay cheaper for your insurance. I'm paying R2700pm for 3 cars (2014 Corsa, 2018 BMW 118i, 2021 Polo TSi) with an insurance broker. No excess. Let me know if you would like my broker's details.
HI Muzi, awesome video as always. However i think you need to make the installment calculations more realistic, 80% of vehicles are financed over 72 months. Very few people finance a car over 60 months. You can exclude balloon but at least move it to 72 months to give people a better picture. Especially for your sort of audience.
Last yr the price of the Suzuki swift didn't make sense but now it does when you put into consideration the price of cars now....Swift Sport is a car to consider when looking for pocket rocket...
I think swift sport price is not that bad based on what it offers compared to other brands's prices right now. It is cheaper than BMW 118i but faster. Its cheaper than Polo R line but faster Its cheaper than mini cooper but faster exept cooper s and john cooper works. Cheaper than Audi 30FTSI but faster. Faster than hyndai I20 N line in a same price bracket. Never underestimate that car before you test drive it bcs you will be surprised.
No the BMW VW Polo and Audi are German cars with more desirable badges not to mention the swift is smaller in size than all of them and has inferior build quality.
@@WaseemKhan-iu4bh The inferior build quality for a smaller car could be more dangerous. The price and quality need to be balanced. My advice for Suzuki would be to improve the build quality and keep the price the same for 2024.
My brother I haven't seen any mini cooper reviews especially in the South africa contest, can please do a mini cooper review I've done my research on it but I'm not satisfied, maybe you can spot and highlight some of the things I've missed!!
Excellent review. I didn't know these have become so expensive. At least one can find a used one for much less. But yah for R 420k, i could get a well looked after 2018 Ford Focus ST or a Golf 7.5 GTi
Muzi...its time to start breaking down finances of cars that we actually want like the C63s,M5s and RS6s so that we can have an idea of how much we need to make in order to afford them
I agree with your points to expensive. Just get a Polo GTi.. I checked out both and went with the GTi. The Difference in material quality and the drive is huge... the technology is also lagging behind. The infotainment system is horrible Car is very light and blows around in the wind. Also sound is very meh so Is the engine. If this car was still around 300k it would be a great value but ultimately the problem is price.
When I was looking, the Polo GTI was R100k more expensive, a huge theft risk, more expensive insurance, and one of the worst warranties for new cars. To me driving and fun were more important, although the Polo interior quality is of course better, and the 2 liter is now a well proven motor. Glad I chose the Sport personally ❤
I'm saying this now. In about 15 years the polo gti will be unattainable for the common person and the Suzuki Swift would become the new affordable hit hatch King. Mark my words
Better get a SSS soon then- there are not many around, they fly under the radar and will be future collectables! The previous generation models are already getting high prices.
