I got mine almost a year ago, here in Germany. So far this car has proven out to be incredibly reliable, considering I drove it over 30.000km's in just 11 months. And more than 90% of this has been achieved, driving on the Autobahn. My average fuel consumption is at about 7.4l on 100 km. However, to be entirely honest, I never try to drive fuel efficient or economic at all. Here are some annoying things I came across with my swift sport: 1. While the LED Headlights are great, the sensor for the automated high beams is not always reacting quick enough. 2. At above 200 km/h some wind noises turn into notorious squeeking. I wasn't able to locate the exact origin of the sound, however it seems like its from the back right door. The Suzuki Service Station was not able to sort it out unfortunately - so I have to live with it, I guess. However, I came a cross similar issues from other swift drivers on the german forums as well. All in all, considering the price tag, and the otherwise good quality, I am happy to have chosen it over its German competitors. Especially, since it always puts a smile on my face, when I am driving on the Autobahn (Max Speed in my case: 212 km/h & downhill: 225km/h) and always feels safe, nimble & controllable. @carwow maybe you got any solution for my squeaking problem? :D

@@haveyoueverwondered23 that's stats from manufacturer which never seem to be correct. There is videos on RUclips of this car doing 0-60 in around 7 to 8 seconds
The car actually does 0-60 at around 7.3-7.5 seconds for the manual version and around 7.1 seconds for the automatic version. Numbers were from PdriveTv when they tested it.
I've got a non hybrid sport and my centre console does not move, maybe I'm lucky. Not a perfect car obviously, but it does more right than wrong, it's quicker than the official figures and driven sensibly does over 50mpg and for a 60+ year old like me it's nice and comfy and best of all it's very reliable.
A thing i hate about it, when i had it, was that there was no light for the rear passengers. So when you were driving at night and wanted to find something, you would have to pull out your phone and use the light from that.
Calling it a Yaris GR would be a BIT far fetched. And I'll never understand why armrests are so rare in small hatchbacks...especially in the most expensive versions.
Couple of quick points - have driven these many times at work (local Suzuki dealer loans them to us!), the 0-60 is much faster than advertised, can get just over 7 secs in the older turbo, the newer hybrid is pretty close to that too, weighs a little more but a little more torque. It's a shame you didn't do the GPS test - Sure you'd have managed sub 8 secs no problem! Secondly - the reversing camera despite the low resolution is one of the best I've used, it's angled perfectly with the rear bumper and not distorted so you can see accurately where kerbs/walls are and park within a cm! :) Really like these little Suzuki's (coming from a Volvo S90 and now BMW i3 owner).* *Oh, and the economy is fantastic - easily got 50mpg in the older turbo in all conditions and cruising at 80mph on the motorways, small tank limits the range a bit but not had another petrol car which can manage that with reasonable performance (the modern 1-1.3l offerings in all crossovers rarely seem to get much over high 30's despite 60mpg+ on paper).
@@hobbypyromane2.05 Actually I far preferred the i3 - faster, quieter, more spacious (really!), rwd. Harder riding but definitely enjoyed it more, higher quality interior too, just shame range was just over 100m in winter.

Ive had a Suzuki Vitara Turbo 2.5 yrs and Ive just clocked 100,000km. Interior is similar to the Sport yet the interior still looks mint. Car has been fantastic without issue, infact due to the early torque I rarely rev it above 3k rpm. Ill probably make a Swift sport my 2nd car in the future
Got mine in grey mineral for 6 months and it's pure fun. I'm 1m80 for 110kg and i find the seat great. Bit of exageration in this video tbh. For example doesn't go 1-100km/h in above 9sec lol. Average did it within 7sec/7,5sec. Ratio weight 1025kg for 129 hp (actually more 140hp, some guys did bench speed) is super cool. Feel like you didn't really test it
Yeah I also have one and love it. I kind of expected a review that focused on the driving, but no, it is a typical practicality-centred carwow video, and it was also sort of a whole Swift range review, rather than specifically the Swift Sport. And finally, I'm tired of journalists spewing claimed 0-100 times without testing. I mean, what's the point of a review? I can read a spec sheet by myself.

Mat, please convince carwow to let you review more affordable cars, we can't really relate to drag racing cars worth millions, this is what the channel used to be about, reviewing cars that you would find on the road, thank you
I prefer the "I'm Mat Watson, and this is Carwow" intro

I wish Suzuki would come back to North America, we're really missing out

First one buddy.. actually kinda knew tht u were gonna do the review for the suzuki when I saw ur insta post.

A Swift Sport, specially tuned for the Nordschleife, was one of the most fun cars I have ever driven on it.
Was this model or the previous one?
@@Kskdoru both. The newer Model was a bit more fun because it has more HP.
Here in Australia, we have 3 levels of swift. Entry 1.2L 4 cylinder, mid glx turbo 1l 3 cylinder turbo and the sport 4 cylinder turbo. I have the mid level glx turbo and its a great car. has lane departure warning and radar cruise, as well as high and low speed aeb. I always find in interesting what part of the world get what specification.
The Swift is the new mini! Cheap n cheerful and surprisingly fun to drive for not a lot of coin. Cars don’t have to be expensive to be fun 🤩
funny where i find you commenting Mark
@@brainpolice5016 Depends on which Brian this is to determine how funny it is 😄
@@KramGnilrad Who are the brain police?
All generations and all versions of Suzuki Swift are fun to drive, they have a true driving spirit
You know what: In india it starts around £6000 only 😂
Do you know that it's "sport"? India doesn't get sport
but indian version is stripped down of everything, unsafe weak uncomfortable slow and everything else in between :(
@@IbbiAhmed and considering average salaries, it's at least 4 times more expensive for a Indian to buy it compared with a person living in UK
No 0-60 this time? 😭
Nope, but they do it in low 7's
@@melondog82 i have the 2012 swift sport, that does 0-60 in around 7 seconds so this car should be equal if not a little faster
He mentioned in the vid the 1.2 does 60 in around 12 secs and the 1.4 does it in just over 9 secs
@@haveyoueverwondered23 that's stats from manufacturer which never seem to be correct. There is videos on RUclips of this car doing 0-60 in around 7 to 8 seconds
@@haveyoueverwondered23 Ye the 140hp version does 0-60 in 8 secs apparently, would of thought that’s the one he’d review. Not the slower one.
The car actually does 0-60 at around 7.3-7.5 seconds for the manual version and around 7.1 seconds for the automatic version. Numbers were from PdriveTv when they tested it.
15k!!
thats about 15 lakhs here in India. but here, the swift is sold at 5.9 lakhs, which is about 5800 pounds
😂
I’m of a larger disposition and those seats are great.

Mat Watson 2021
Bought a 2014 Swift for the little lady. Love to drive it myself, super nippy car. Would really love to own this one.
I think a 2014 daihatsu tocot would be easier for her to handle
I hope to see those type of vehicle's more
I've got a non hybrid sport and my centre console does not move, maybe I'm lucky.
Only 22000 pounds....
Me Converted it in indian rupees its 22,81,284 only😑
Dont forget taxes
European Swift: Euro Spec
Indian Swift: Poverty Spec
Calling it a Yaris GR would be a BIT far fetched.
And I'll never understand why armrests are so rare in small hatchbacks...especially in the most expensive versions.
He is really gonna complain about the cheap interior in a cheap car...
'and the graphics are a bit childish'

😂😂😂😂😂the best way to decribe its infotainment system. Lol🤣
:) Really like these little Suzuki's (coming from a Volvo S90 and now BMW i3 owner).*
*Oh, and the economy is fantastic - easily got 50mpg in the older turbo in all conditions and cruising at 80mph on the motorways, small tank limits the range a bit but not had another petrol car which can manage that with reasonable performance (the modern 1-1.3l offerings in all crossovers rarely seem to get much over high 30's despite 60mpg+ on paper).
Why did you go from a s90 to an i3? That seems like the downgrade of the century to me
@@hobbypyromane2.05 Actually I far preferred the i3 - faster, quieter, more spacious (really!), rwd. Harder riding but definitely enjoyed it more, higher quality interior too, just shame range was just over 100m in winter.
Hi Matt Watson new suzuki swift seems to be sporty, sleek, muscular hot hatchback. 👍❤️

That “hello how are you doin” is a bit offensive XD being a swift turbo owner myself 🤣
He was talking about the standard Swift.
He referred to the grill of the Swift Turbo as being; and I quote "GGGRRRRR".
The Tiguan in front of Mat in the town is the same one that he reviewed
That isnt In the Town... It is actually filming the video from the front... Few clips where u see the whole car from the front
Ok, carwow and Mat Watson are involved in some kind of witchcraft. Why else would I ever watch a review of a Swift? :D Thank you so very much for daily videos!
True, i dont understand why i watch these cars, I wouldnt buy a car like this if it was 100 euro
lmao go buy bmw for sure idiots haha
I have driven this car and it has great steering. I have driven a few small cars and the swift by far is the best
Indian Company cheating Indians honestly 😔
I always liked Swift, from older to today's newer, because of sportiness...
My favorite mini hatchback.. it has a wide presence on the road and a mature look..
Nice to see a more up to date version of the Suzuki Swift Sport on Carwow. Old one was 2 years ago (on Carwow)
7:04 it just FLEW! 😂
This car starts from 5200 pounds in indian. When u convert the price.
So??
And horribly unsafe. Pretty sure that’s not the case in the UK.
Matt: 5 speed manual transmission is old fashioned 🙁
Indians : have you heard of the ‘4 speed torque converter automatic transmission on their flagship car in India?’
Sometimes it sucks being Indian...
I mean in car terms
@@chetanbagal5853 sure it does , but we still criticize cars better than maruti in our country because it's better (kia/Hyundai) and has more features

Bro Suzuki swift is like literally the MOST popular car India you can’t go out on the road without seeing at least ten within an hour
*Maruti version. The version he's reviewing here (and what the Europeans and Japan have in general) is pricier but also much better build quality and materials.

It doesn't actually make sense here lol
I can only assume you're presenting a pull handle seat adjust as a pro to troll for comments. Well done. It worked.
Maybe I am too easily pleased - plastic is plastic to me, not such a big deal !!!
@@abiopc Yeah exactly. Can't trust the other reviews now when you actualy test one of the cars. Best honest review i've seen so far was here ruclips.net/video/wYe_ooFhS_s/видео.html&ab_channel=MotorSport%26DreamCars . The guy did a great job. Guess it's the difference between a passionate and a car dealer only promoting his website...
