Hello and thanks for the video, I just had this happen to me on my swift sport and have now sorted it with the help of your video. Also I thought I would check under the bonnet and see if the one under there needs doing and it turns out its already disintegrated and I've been driving around with it ready to pop off at any time, so I am going to sort that one too. Thanks for the help.
I'm glad the video helped you sort it out. Good job you checked under the bonnet then if its already looking crusty. You've also reminded me to check mine under there haha it's been a while now. You're very welcome.
Great video, didn't have this exact issue, just wanted to know how to disassemble the centre console to get to the shifter mechanism. If you've still got this car a mod that I highly recommend is to replace the bushes that are under the 4x mounting points for the shifter assembly. Standard ones are so soft the entire assembly can move about when changing gear...this slightly loose shift change drove me mad. This little mod works like a charm and significantly improves the shift feel and movement, much more positive. They are made by beatrush in Japan.
Thanks! Cheers for the info on those beatrush bushes that is defo something I will look into, I didn't know they existed. It's not something that drives me mad personally but I do know what you mean by the loose shift feel.
