Suzuki Swift GL 1.3 Sport Conversion Part 1 - Sport Front Bumper and Future Build Plan

This is an interesting one for you all! This is one of my good mates first car and I'm going to be helping him make it look just how he wants it. He decided to go for the cosmetic sport conversion because of the colour AND the fact it's a 5 door to make a truly "one off" style Swifty. For the record it's called Scooby! Nice little project, we will soon be custodians of the brand, if Suzuki GB maintain the current business strategy. Such a shame that those of us with 1.3 & 1.2 Swift's can get very few tune up parts. Another cracking video - good luck with recommissioning the car👍👍✌️✌️🤞🤞💜💜😊😊😊

I didn’t manage to do it I’m unable to do the job myself at home. To this day the car is still fine and it’s got no worse. I’m also looking for someone to do it in the future
Still looks good 👍

Used swift sport prices might rise now. I love mine
I think they definitely will, they’re very lovable cars
I think even if they didn't go EV/hybrid they would still have to make overcomplicated cars to pass emissions and it would still kill the Sports we love. Even the latest 33 hybrid isn't a pure hot/warm hatch in my eyes anymore, sorry to anyone who owns one, I'm not saying it's a bad car. By the way, have you seen the EURO NCAP crash test of the new Swift? Quite a disaster... This will not be a good advert for Suzuki.
Agree it’ll have been an over complicated 33 sport which wouldn’t have been fantastic. I haven’t seen the crash test yet but I’ll defo have to give that a watch and maybe do a reaction/comparison videos with the other generation swifts…

Here in Australasia, Suzuki will continue to offer the current gen swift sport until late 2025. After that it seems uncertain that we will see an updated model. Really sad times. They're such cracking little cars.
Very sad times indeed, the end of a 30 odd year era of the sporty swift. I'm not sure when they'll discontinue the Swift Sport ZC33S here but I'm assuming it's not too far into the future.

As an environmentalist for 30-40 years? Carbon Climate Change is an emperor's new clothes con. If anything it all makes me want to buy a classic V8 (that is, because it's still in existence and not been scrapped 20 times over and is thus MORE environmentally friendly than a dangerous, filthy, un- environmentally friendly, modern EV, that catches fire and puts children's lives at risk with their filthy supply chains etc.). The whole thing is as if the planet is being terraformed for an invasion, we are low on carbon and every mammal requires carbon and oxygen to live. The fact that any debate against the super elite and group think, is shut down or cancelled as conspiracy theory, lets me know, it's just that, we are being conned. "You'll own nothing and be happy" (WEF) is part of it too. Many car companies have now abandoned EVs and some countries are abandoning net zero too. Let's hope GB does the latter and Suzuki the former.
Absolutely, get me a Corvette any day of the week and it'll still be more friendly than a Hyundai Ioniq Egg. So many EV's and hybrids too have been spontaneously combusting. I can't believe so many people act like carbon is bad and that we should have 0 carbon, people don't know this basic fact at all anymore and it's beyond me. Of course it's all one big con, I just hope people open their super-glued eyes and sees it for what it is... I HATE that slogan so much, so many people are blissfully unaware too. One can only hope that GB and Suzuki do the same, nothing in this world is carbon 0.
@@wallsworkshop Well said. People are slowly waking up, whilst others never will. In addition the rare earth elements in solar panels, wind turbines (all of which end up in land fill) are NOT environmentally friendly. Our farmers and food sources are under attack too. People should be very concerned. Do we need clean air? Of course we do, but not whilst suiciding civilisation! Funny how the super elite keep buying farm land AND low lying beach side properties when the 'world is on fire' and 'the seas are rising'. The biggest pollutors? The world's top 100 companies who have free reign, rule our governments. Also the CCP are massive pollutors and yet they're taking over the west! People need to open their eyes, sadly even some clever types are duped by it all. Suzuki are being myopic, their pricing strategy is the start of their downfall here too. Even if I won the lottery, I don't think I'd buy a new car now, most are junk (I've friends in the industry, who are design engineers, journos, advisors, who agree.....who inform me).
Loads of the other car company’s are going away from EVs. Hopefully Suzuki will u turn
Totally agree with you pal but lets face it their never gonna make a better swift sport than the MK2 can't wait till I get can one!
Couldn't have said it better myself, get one while you can before they go silly money like the Swift GTI!

What i cant get my head around is that i have seen tonnes of people have the exact same issue (including myself currently) and NOBODY has found a definitive answer or solution to this issue. Ive checked the shims. They were fine. A bit too tight so i changed them but they were fine. I thought it may have been the cam chain tensioner. Was absolutely fine. Taken my A/C and alternator belts off. Fine again. If you manage to find the issue, i will buy you a beer. Honestly its the bane of my life currently. Good luck
I'm very glad to read this comment, I really don't think it's anything serious at all at this point. Hydraulic lifters do make little sounds anyway so It could be something of nothing but who knows. Cheers buddy 👍 I’ll be honest I’m not quite sure, I bought mine from CTC performance about 3 years ago and it didn’t state whether it was a type S or N. I’ll have a look on mine to see if it says anything
@@wallsworkshop Thanks. Is it the 127 KPA (1.3kg/cm) one?
Nice work buddy! With the seized bolts, you can use helical easyouts. Drill the correct sized, small hole, then screw in the easy out, that grips the seized screw/bolt and unwinds it with an opposing thread (hope that makes sense). Or rent a heat induction tool🤔🤔 Like the intake mods too. I prefer the bonnet clean but it does come with challenges. The car looks a 100 times better for it, very cool!👍👍 Always a joy to watch😊👍💜✌️
Thanks buddy! Yeah I catch your drift I’ll probably do that at a later date if necessary but this is working just fine for the time being 😊 Everybody said that I wish I’d have done it sooner, but yeah I do need to do the stone chips they’re doing my head in haha Thank you very much 😁👌😎
Personally, I've never liked that bonnet guard, although it does the job. But I dont like to openly criticize someone else's mods. Stone chips sucks, I have a lot of them too, always fixing them with Suzuki paint sticks. I'm thinking of getting some protective foil for the bonnet eventually.
Not a lot of people do I also fell out of love with it but it’s saved the bonnet from being even more battered than it is at least. I’m debating spraying the bonnets stone chips but it’ll be a nightmare to blend etc so I’m not too sure yet, some foil or protective film really isn’t a bad shout with Suzukis thin paint 😅
The thin paint is a real weak point in a generally great car.
Hey Waldo why you dont instal the intake kit from ctc? Than you can fit the strut bar easily i guess Greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱
Hi there! IMO the CTC intake is rather too expensive for what it is, the whole point of this is to prove it can be done not only for less money but by anybody at home too. The strut bar will still most likely fit I’m not too worried about that it was mainly a talking point for the video It’s nice to see viewers from different countries, thanks for watching 🙏🏴
@@wallsworkshop That’s true the ctc one is quite expensive for what it is But i have to say that the way it fits is well thought out. But it’s good to have a budget friendly option as well. Keep up the good work man!👌

Great vid catch up.. I’m 2yrs on mine. The tyre dash light was doing my nut in as it’s in a couple of vids then u noticed slow puncture 😂. Last race vid heard you might be in Belfast. I’m in Belfast - pls give a heads up - love to meet you guys 👍 how do I get your sticker?
Thanks mate, the tyre light isn't because of that I just need to put air in that tyre lol, It's because of my type R alloys they don't have the TPMS valve stems in them, so the light has actually been on for 3 years😅Yes I do want to plan a race to Belfast but it's proving difficult to organise but I can get something sorted for the future. I was in Belfast in 2019 and I loved it, can't wait to go back! I'll for sure post an update for when I do plan to come over would be great to meet you too ✌ The stickers used to be for sale a while ago, if enough interest I'll revive the listing, they'll be dirt cheap if I do re list them.

with the tune and the other mods how much bhp are you running mate?
I'll be honest mate I've no idea on an actual number, no crazy gains, I'd guess 155-160? That's a ballpark figure I could be wrong. I'm either going to go back to a stock map or get it re tuned as it want's doing again as I changed a few odd bits.

@@conorcl7053 Thanks for your kind words I really appreciate it 🙏I'll be honest it won't be seeing a dyno for quite some time, until I'm 110% happy with how things are, it needs re mapping again, valve clearance adjusting and a new clutch as this one is high as balls lol, but it's defo an idea for the future! I'll be doing plenty more stuff to it in the meantime which will all be put on here :)
While almost all sports cars/hot hatches have become heavier, more powerful and more technologically complicated in the last decade, and also there will no longer be petrol-only sports in the EU, I think these last 2 generations will eventually become something of a classic. Sort of like the last breed of old-school Japanese sports cars in this era. Sort of like an MX5. Not too much power, but light on its feet and incredibly nimble with the right driver and on the right roads.
Very well said, and I 100% agree!!
like @bl.culture said, I absolutely agree with you. Everything new now comes lumbered with a hybrid system. I'll be holding onto Suzie I think haha
Congrats on the 5 years of ownership. Can you get a second/third opinion on the cam follower/lifters/tappet noise? Ive got a list of preventive jobs piling up, including rocker cover bolts/gasket and spark plugs, gear linkage bushes etc.
Thanks Bud! I could do but I'm absolutely certain that it's the valves needing adjustment, I trust my dad's judgement on it as he's been a truck mechanic for Scania most his life. I forgot to mention in this video I sorted the two snapped rocker cover bolts so that's one more thing done, no doubt something else will come up lol
@@wallsworkshop Well done mate. I'm sure it's tappet adjustment too. Well done for getting the new bolts in. I must change my rocker cover gasket and make sure the bolts are free.

There was some minters! My dad said the same thing haha 😅 No problem at all I aim to get to a few more shows like this 🙏😎😁
@@wallsworkshop Looking forward to it mate👍✌️💜😊 BTW word of wisdom to the wise, make sure that you take out your spark plugs periodically - even if not changing them - I heard a rumour that they can sieze in alloy Suzuki engines 🤔🙄🤕😉
