I think this is probably one of my all time favorite places you have been. That place in its prime would have been like something out of a magazine. Thanks so much for sharing.
Hi Ethan, I think you got the theme name of the kitchen correct. Here is an excerpt from what I found "Design of the post-war Atomic Age was shaped by the space race, atomic anxieties, and technological developments; it featured bold, geometric lines and chrome detailing. For midcentury Modern design enthusiasts die-cast pieces like the Tall Mushroom Knob, Saturn Knob, or Boomerang Pull are faithful reproductions of cabinet fixtures from the 1950s and early 60s. While marketed as restoration pieces for period homes, these accessories can be an inexpensive method to make any interior go retro."
You're mostly right. the 1950s were the atomic age, all sleek, lots of chrome, everything new. Young boomers wanting something different than their parents/grandparents. My parents built their house about the same time as this, except no tile anywhere. Those recessed chrome soap dishes in the green bathroom, childhood memories! Great video, thank you.
loved that pink bathroom , all original and the fish wallpaper in the other one,,and that kitchen was amazing, what a find, thanks for the video Ethan x
What an amazing pad. From observing the subtle palet colors on the walls and the popping red formica countertop. This home is more indicative of being built in the 40's. The asbestos tiles on the floor were definitely used in the 60's. Before the asbestos tiles, I remember my Grandmother having flowered linoleum in the 50's and early 60's. How everything has changed. And not for the best in my opinion. Life in the 70's was so much less complicated. Technology will not end up being used in a healthy way for everyone. being it was what was mostly used everywhere. Always remember, when you see one centipede, there will always be another one, somewhere. They travel in two's. Ethan, I just want you to know that you are great, so respectful (kudos to your parents), and so much fun to watch. Congratulations on nearing 100,000 viewers. Pretty soon you'll be able to purchase your own pad. You so deserve it. Keep on exploring!
Those Bathrooms were The Chefs Kiss.. I love anything to do with vintage.. The kitchen reminds me of a 1950's to 1960's Style and let me not forget The Fireplaces especially the one in The Basement.. Thanks for an amazing explore and video Ethan..
The only things missing were the old occupants dressed in 50s fashions, flowered 3/4 length skirt for mom. suit with wide lapels for dad, daughter with a pony tail and son in a v neck long sleeve sweater. Bet the guy that figured out how to put the stove burner controls under the counter won an award for contemporary jet age design. the laundry chute and recessed florescent lighting was a blast from the past. Cheers Ethan
Hey Ethan, this home is amazing, I love all of the vintage charm!!! They sure don't build them like that anymore!!! Too bad. Thanks for sharing another exciting adventure!!! 👍👍🏣
Wow what a retro treasure trove!!! It was cool seeing all he retro colors, I loved the colors of the bathrooms, the flocked wallpaper and a lot of natural light it lets in. the old fireplaces didn't disappoint either, thank you for sharing.😀😀😀
Haha. You made me shiver and shake when the centipede moved!!! My parents had a stove top that had the dials and controls mounted on the wall above it. Remember, I'm 71, so this house looks so familiar to me, including the floor tiles
Ethan! omg! You can't show me these 50s - 60s homes with boomerang pattern countertops and not give one to me! This is torture! Ugh I love these places! Those bathrooms are freaking awesome! You are right, black and pink look really great together. That General Electric push button stove! Yes that kitchen is atomic! Anyway, this place... if I could own one and then fix it up, I'd keep it like a time capsule! Thanks for showing us this awesome explore!
LOVE this house!! Such style and personality. Oh to have the cash to lovingly restore something like this. Fairly roomy house. Love the fireplaces, the bar, the roomy kitchen. So many shelves in the basement. If walls could talk I think they would tell of a nice life lived there. Like the old style bathrooms. Well Ethan 99.9k!!🎉🎉Next time will it be at 100. Take care be well and keep safe.
Reminds me very much of the house I grew up in, built in 1956. The bathroom green and pink tiles, the slate floors, the paneled basement. Large windows, laundry chute. Thanks for the memories!
Ethan what an amazing exploration of this beautiful 1950s home I was a little bit worried about when Doggs put the light switch on and you heard the buzzing sound of the florescent tube light humming electricity glad that was turned off quick before any one got a electric shock the kitchen was great love the red colour with the white the bathrooms were very nice the bar in the basement was called Laminex covering for tables and bench counter tops they were a very big thing back in the 50s and 60s a lot of Australin homes in the 50s and 60s had them but not so much in the 70s as the houses were changing but a great video of a retro home you bring so much joy when you finds these home and people who were born in the 50s 60s and 70s you bring back our childhood memories so thank you and see you in the next video
I absolutely love the tiled bathrooms. The green one would have to be my favorite one. You might not be too familiar with The Jetsons cartoons but the pattern on the downstairs countertop immediately reminded me of them. The Atomic Age. The sunburst design was very popular and there are dishes with that pattern that are now highly sought after. It had a light blue, black, and gold sunburst on a white background. I remember seeing that as a small child and someone in the family had those but I just can’t remember who. Having the drapery carriers hidden was something for richer people than we were for sure. We had wide slat Venetian blinds made of aluminum with wide strips that held the slats unlike the current mini blinds. I think someone may have had a large collection of some sort of figurines or something similar in the downstairs room with all the shelves. We had a massive amount of books and we could never have filled all the shelves, especially since they were also in another room. Maybe if they were a lawyer, doctor or scientist and kept all the journals that were published. I would have loved to have that room and have been able to fill all the shelves with books. I have to make do with ereaders because they take up so little room. Nice house.
That was incredible Ethan...totally untouched...what a find ..the kitchen ,and bathrooms are just so simple ..but then so was life back then ...thanks Ethan stay safe well and happy 💋
I loved watching this video. This house was very well built, had everything top notch for its day. I would just update the systems, and whatever has to be fixed, but I'd leave the integrity of the home intact.
I am 70 years old so this house reminds me a lot of the house I grew up in. Of course not this big, but the colors. We had a pink tile shower. It was pretty small and we didn't have a bathtub. I can almost smell the paneling. That one kitchen table that looked like it had boomerangs on it was just like ours only our was blue. Thank you Ethan for taking me back to my childhood for awhile!!😃😃😃
Loving the Def Leppard Pyromania shirt Nathan❤ That was a great tour! This was a great explore. You find the best houses! Looking forward to the next one!
Love this type of home!!😍 It is a total treasure of a find with the original quality materials and design elements! Mold Sucks!! I have never seen those windows vent things before, they are interesting. You are right about the kitchen, with the color and old stainless and (high tech for the time I would imagine), definitely fit the Atomic look and style!💫✨ There is so much of that type of themed decor out there still, that it would awesome to own this old treasure of a house and and decorate it in that style,! Great find!🤩 100K in sight!🎉 🙌🤘✌️
hi Ethan , this was an amazing home 🏠🏠 Shy 100k . i am so glad you are persevering the old retro homes. it has been a fun few years taking all us with to see all the homes that once was someones memories an hope you continue Ethan
Hi Ethan This house is retro cool. I love the three different colored bathrooms. They really didn’t change a thing in this house. That red kitchen was cool too. The basement had some mold and also in some of the bedrooms. That laundry shoot was neat too. Ethan it’s much better when you explore alone or when the other person is in another part of the house. That one guy that was with you in the basement was in my opinion a PEST and I didn’t enjoy the tour with him constantly talking. He stuck to you like glue. Much better when you are there showing us everything alone. I’m not saying go to these places alone but it’s better when you are in one part of house and they are somewhere else. I always say to take a buddy with you. Also a note to you. Maybe you should carry your flashlight in your camera bag. It’s dark in some spots and I’m not just talking about this video. It’s more enjoyable when I can see what you are showing. I’m just saying that’s all. Anyway a good job filming regardless. Keep on doing what you do and stay safe and well while doing it.👍😊😊🏘️🗽
Well loved home. Must of been empty for a very long time, which explains the mold. Too bad about the mold. I love the layout. The features are very standard for the time. I won’t say it was a mansion but definitely middle class affluence. I always try to imagine the owner or family that lived in your explores Ethan. With the bookshelves downstairs, a university professor or writer? The wife was a stay at home mom, so she had a homemakers kitchen and canning area. The stove buttons look like ones on the old set for Julia Child. The kids went off to universities, and soon moved out. The parents had no need to remodel, probably travelled a lot. Thanks for the nostalgia and reminiscing the past. Someone salvage that kitchen and those bathrooms fixtures. I will take the washer and dryer. Lol.
EXCELLENT EXPLORE. Ethan, If u can, I would send this video to museums quickly !! I surely could see this house as a historical period house !! Greenfield Village here in Dearborn has period displays like this. I am hoping I encourage you to try this before it is destroyed. This is one of YOUR BEST WORK ,You should get credit for it. Or try to find out who is buying it and maybe they will save as much as possible . ! I was going to suggest a periodical photo shoot but would reveal location. THRILLING ! THANK-YOU AND YOUR TEAM ❤
With all the water damage, mold, and asbestos, that's not likely to happen. There's other preserved mid century homes that are in much better shape. Js .
That black and pink bathroom reminded me of the kitchen in the first house my husband and I bought when we got married in 1989! That house was built in the 50s and was pretty much untouched, too. So cool!
Wow wow wow what a gorgeous home its pretty old but its still standing very co ol fine Ethan loved all the paneling and the storage simply Gorgeous I'd live there in a heart beat 😅 are those bugs flying around or Orbs doesn't matter lol truly enjoyed this one Great job presenting the home stay safe xo ❤
Thanks Ethan I really like these mid century homes because of the unique details and style. Using the materials available at that time, they really accomplished a lot. The more I see these pastel colors in your videos, they actually look pretty good, like the pale blue. Don't know if I'm ready to grab a brush but I would consider this color for a modern bedroom.
@Ethan Minnie, great explore here by you. I think I have a new word for you, the liners in the kitchen are a "Gingham" pattern, not plaid, it's close but that is a gingham pattern there. Just passing that along so in the future you know. And I think you used the Atomic word right as well, I was thinking the same word.
I wish we could go back to when people took pride in making things like appliances and they took pride in handling them with care when they delivered them to your home. They'd last for 20 years. Nowdays, they don't even last two weeks without them tearing up and you have to call someone to come fix them. I believe it's because they just throw them on and off the trucks. People just don't give a damn anymore. It was a very cool house for sure. All those bookshelves and cubby wholes and hooks for coats, makes me think they might of had a daycare in thier home at one time.
It brings me so much joy to see time capsule homes like these and thank you so much for documenting them for us to enjoy! I think the phrase you were looking for in the kitchen is SPACE AGE! 💫
That old thermostat has mercury in it........hazard mat item, fyi.....loved the blue bathroom...very retro....when I was very little we had a pink and black bathroom...was tiled...showing my age, but who cares...loved the video...wish you'd been alone....a little too noisey.....take care
What a beautiful old mansion 😍. I love everything about it. Especially the bathrooms and the kitchen. I think that this is your best find yet. Stay safe 👌 👍 🙏 ❤
I loved it 😁 beautiful kitchen 😍 loved the green bathroom 🤗 i bet it was a beautiful home Before It became abandoned 😔 Its Always Nothing But The Best CONTENT 💯 With Ethan 🤗❤️
Ethan, was the word you were thinking about to describe the kitchen, perhaps, astro? However, atomic is quiet appropriate since the nuclear testing in the United States pretty much began in the early 1950's. and that kitchen did indeed have that vibe to it. with the automated button's on the stove and and range.
Awesome house ! I have the same real wood paneling in the living room on the fireplace wall with built in bookcases and cupboards. It is also on all the walls in a small office room (formally the doctor's home examination room). The bathrooms are all original (except toilets) and look like the ones in that house. I love the retro feel of my house and would never change a thing. 🥰
I wouldn't have painted my kitchen red but I kinda like it. This house just needs to be fixed up. Someone who is just starting out, should fix this up. Or someone who likes older homes, should buy it and fix it up. I really liked bookshelves in the basement. I pretty much like the whole house, except the mold.😷😊
By far, the most well preserved, mid century home I've seen, and maybe even the nicest. Ethan, I'm certain you visited this house before but it's definitely worthy of a revisit. Glad to see no one's torn it down yet. I'd move in in a heartbeat. ❤
This was such a incredible location. Well taken care of, never mind the issues from lack of someone residing there. The design and affects that were within this property were very nice to see. Thank you for sharing this one.
I'm a crocheter. So my fave room was the one in the basement with all of the built-in shelves that could've been the library. I would use it for my yarn room. Plenty of storage for all my crochet books and hooks and yarn.
I absolutely love this 50s home, untouched! This is from my childhood years! And I always enjoy your attention to detail in ur explores! Thank you, Ethan!😊
That was a spectacular time capsule! Back in the day they really had style. Can just imagine the holidays in the formal rooms and the New Years Eve parties in the basement. Just such a different Era maybe it’s just me but some aspects of it appeal to me. Maybe it represents respect and civility. Pride of ownership? I just can’t put together the words.
i love ethans videos! personally i turn the audio off, put play speed at .25, and turn on closed captioning. they go to fast for me. also its called knotty pine. it was every where at that time :)
Totally awesome house I need the way it is and show it off if it wasn't for the black mold that's not a problem but you know I have it redone over the same way it was it's really cool I'm a big fan of old houses 50's and 60's and 70's Brady bunch doll houses yeah I love them
You're so close to 10!! Amazing. I've been watching you since you first started. You've grown so much since then. Keep up with the mirror greetings. I love it when you do that. Thank you for bringing us on your epic adventures
I have subscribed to your channel for a while now but never say anything. Excited for you that you're almost at 100k. 😊 I enjoy your content very much. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Dallas Texas.
I just found you in n RUclips tv about a week ago. And I absolutely love you!! Binge watching here and there. I’ve still got a lot to go. But I love them all! And just want to tell you I truly appreciate what you do and how passionate you are!! Thank you! Glad I found you!!
Ethan nice find. 60orv70’s for sure. I like it better with just you as the one exploring. Takes away from your charm. Lol but really it s a nice walk through with only one talking.
I think this is probably one of my all time favorite places you have been. That place in its prime would have been like something out of a magazine. Thanks so much for sharing.

OMG, I know... gushing over this place, what a find!
This home is really cute love that pink and black bathroom. Whoever own it took really good care of it. Have a great day.
The green bathroom is AMAZING!!
Thank you for the homes you explore, but please slow the camera down just a bit. A second of the room view or finer details would be much appreciated.
❤ it!
Wow those Are Nice
Atomic it is . I picture a rich husband & wife lived there with there poodle and having big parties. Your the best Ethan nobody better 😊
The guy who is with you is a great new addition. Is it your brother?
You might have been thinking of "The Jetsons" cartoon, with that kitchen.
That is amazing, I would love to see it in person, but seeing it with you is next best.
Thanks for sharing all your finds.
Love the whole house! I can’t believe those bathrooms are so original!! Love it!!!
Reminds me very much of the house I grew up in, built in 1956. The bathroom green and pink tiles, the slate floors, the paneled basement. Large windows, laundry chute. Thanks for the memories!

❤HEY WHAT'S UP ETHAN WHAT A PERFECT JEWEL!! WATCH OUT FOR THE BLACK MOLD !! LOVE YA!!!
Hi Ethan thanks for another great video
Another wonderful home brings back a lot of memories.Thank you👍❤️🇺🇸
Those lights have always made that noise. Once they have warmed up the sound will be gone. Some of the first fluorescent bulbs.
I loved watching this video. This house was very well built, had everything top notch for its day. I would just update the systems, and whatever has to be fixed, but I'd leave the integrity of the home intact.
Extra hype intro Ethan !! Nearly 100k subs man, so deserved :)
This one’s a heartbreaker. My dream kitchen! Thanks, Ethan (and guys)
I’m in love. There can’t be many of us around that like these houses. Nobody seems to want them.
Love your Def Leppard shirt. Thanks for the house tour and your enthusiasm
Can’t help but wonder who lived there, how many kids and grandchildren did they have… makes me think of my own grandparents that have passed ❤
A good efficient kitchen, with a dual sink, one for sudsy water and the other for rinse! The dishwasher!
This house was probably top of the line in its day. Love mid century homes.
Loving the Def Leppard Pyromania shirt Nathan❤ That was a great tour! This was a great explore. You find the best houses! Looking forward to the next one!
I am in llooooooovvvvvveeee. I would NOT change a thing. Clean up and move in. Please God don’t let it be torn down or flipped.

Nostalgic time capsule, that green bathroom was amazing. Blast from the past, man. Flocked wallpaper awesome 👍🏾
Laundry shoots are my favorite! I love them in a wall or floor!🫶🏻💕🥰
That black and pink bathroom reminded me of the kitchen in the first house my husband and I bought when we got married in 1989! That house was built in the 50s and was pretty much untouched, too. So cool!
One of the best Ethan///yes the cool asymmetrical fireplace was the bomb...along w/ Bathrooms and Bar!

Hi Ethan, always excited to see a new video from you! Love Kimberly from upstate NY🏠🏘
That was spectacular the kitchen the bathrooms upstairs and spectacular to bad is so inundated with mold thank you again Ethan
Wow a.great explore so glad you got to film it .Great video Ethan 😊
This was my favorite house so far! Retro 50's is my thing.
Beautiful upstairs bathroom! The way it remember the 50’s!
What a great find. Thanks for another great explore 😀
Now that's my kind of house I love those bathrooms and I kitchen . . Thanks for sharing . ❤❤❤ Stay safe love you
My favorite homes are these here thank you Ethan Minnie❤
Wow Cool House 🏠 They built homes good back then. That was Fonzie's House.
Thank you Ethan for another great video and this place is awesome 😁
Great video and awesome shirt. Def Leppard Pyromania is the first CD I owned back in 1986. lol Yes I'm old. lol
Ethan! Love your awesome Def Leppard shirt and all the videos you do for us! 🩵
By far, the most well preserved, mid century home I've seen, and maybe even the nicest. Ethan, I'm certain you visited this house before but it's definitely worthy of a revisit. Glad to see no one's torn it down yet.
I'd move in in a heartbeat. ❤
Wow that was too cool. I would love that place
Yes mid-century modern was also known as the Atomic era! Like The Jetsons decor.
This was such a incredible location. Well taken care of, never mind the issues from lack of someone residing there. The design and affects that were within this property were very nice to see. Thank you for sharing this one.
The kitchen was awesome,, they must have some money to spend because to have a kitchen like that back in the fifties you had to be Rich
Cool bathrooms Ethan. Love your shirt. Who's your friend there, haven't seen him before.?❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm a crocheter. So my fave room was the one in the basement with all of the built-in shelves that could've been the library. I would use it for my yarn room. Plenty of storage for all my crochet books and hooks and yarn.
hi from Australia when I saw that room too I thought gee that be I deal for my knitting yarn as I like you love to Knit but can't crochet
I absolutely love this 50s home, untouched! This is from my childhood years! And I always enjoy your attention to detail in ur explores! Thank you, Ethan!😊
Ethan you’re an old soul for enjoying and appreciating such classic homes like this. 😊
I love those bedrooms, minus the black mold.

What an atomic age gem. Thanks for exploring this house, Ethan!
What a cool house, with an amazing old kitchen, bathrooms... so much to love about this one!
Ethan nice find. 60orv70’s for sure. I like it better with just you as the one exploring. Takes away from your charm. Lol but really it s a nice walk through with only one talking.
Cool house it's nice to see some things are still original
