There's not a house they could build today, that would be anywhere near as awesome as this house!!!! Whoever had it took such loving care of it, and now to be demolished! So much amazing character!!!! The wallpapers were epic!!!!! I love your explores the best!!! Happy belated birthday! Keep the cool videos coming!!!!🥰
This house is prime! Why would they tear it down?? Just such a shame. LOVE LOVE the scenic mural and cool wallpapers in the bathrooms. Very much like time traveling! Thank you so much for sharing!
This is a really cool and amazingly well preserved home from that era!! Love all those common, but awesome, architectural details found in these homes, and even some of the wild decor as well. Hope you had a great birthday!🎂✌️
I can't believe they are going to tear it down! I love this house, I would change some of the wall colors, but that would be about it!! What a great place to have A Party!! Many Parties ❣😜❣😜❣
Great house. ALL the bathrooms were my favorites, maybe the blue upstairs was my ultra favorite!!! Can't buy wallpaper like that anymore. Yeah knew there had to be a bar in that basement and you found it.🎉 Thanks for a wonderful explore, as usual, Ethan. Loving your awesome videos. 👏👍❤🇺🇸
People didn't phase out shag because they didn't like it, they phased it out because it is _extremely_ difficult to vacuum. Oh gawd it was hard!! We loved it though! 😊 And that real color in the bedroom was called "robins egg blue" in about 1967. The bathroom wallpaper was awesome!! The basement bathroom wallpaper tho looked more 70s disco era tho. Those wall sconces in the basement were _gorgeous!!_ Thanks for showing this one! It's beautiful!
@@loosilu Oh my lol candy, thumb tacks, change, moldy bits of food, popcorn lol you name it. Try and sweep with a broom and things just flew up out of the rug all over 😠🤮
This is a nice solid house. I like this one. A little remodeling and decorating would bring this back to beautiful condition. The walls look to be plaster too. That furnace looks practically new.
This house was very high end for the 60s!!! I absolutely loved seeing the retro bathrooms 👍🤣😂 I remember my mom decorating our bathrooms the very same way!!!🤣😂 Can’t believe that they didn’t update this place all of those years!!! These owners loved & took very good care of this house!!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful adventure with us Ethan…I absolutely loved it 👍🙏💕
Tysm for this great tour. I so remember the days of shag carpets , paneling & colored appliances, also colored toilets & sinks & ( freaky ) wallpaper ! Love the chandeliers. Another great explore. Ty again for what you do.
What a fantastic retro house.I love the 1960's wood panel room with matching hardwood floors,so nice along with the redbrown brickwalls. The basement area is beyond perfect, love the dark paneling. Thanks for another great house tour, stay safe.
I'm not one for obnoxious patterns on walls but that blue bathroom just wow! I genuinely loved it 🤩 and the green one I didn't mind that one either.Another great find Ethan.
I bingewatch a lot of your video tours!!! I just love different styles of architecture represented. This home wad fantastic! It struck me as being a very happy place to live in. It was so imaginative! The blue bathroom walls looked like a patchwork quilt and i started laughing, it was so fun. Then you were laughing. Thanks so much for this enjoyable tour. Incredible home!
Hi Ethan. Love this house, a few upgrades, I could definitely live there....Beautiful home...The tile floor in laundry room was in my grandparents home too...Great video...Thank you 😊
What a stunning house ! I loved all the bathrooms and all the beautiful light fixtures ! Just can't believe that someone does not try to save some beautiful things in the home ! Thank you for taking your time describing each room , great job Ethan! Your NY fan ...
Love this house, but 2 things. 1. Slow down showing that awesome wallpaper, would love to have seen more detail. 2. More light in basements please, it's hard to see details.
Hey Ethan 👋..BOOM💥...love this place..wallpaper, shag carpet what's not to like ...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU 🥳🎂..hope you had a FAB day🎁....CHEERS 🍻❤️ stay safe ,well and happy 🤗💋
What a BEAUTIFUL HOME , READY TO MOVE IN . ONE OF THE BEST ETHAN, THANKS AGAIN. GOD BLESS PROTECT AND KEEP YOU IN HIS HOLY GRACE. ETHAN U HAVE HIT THE POT OF GLOD WITH THIS ONE. I JUST LOVE YOUR REACTION WHEN YOU GET TO SEE A HOME YOU LOVE. WE GET HAPPY FOR YOU TO.
You weren't kidding, this house is awesome!! The upstairs bathrooms were my favorite part. I've never seen thermostats is EVERY room before. How is that possible?
What a great house! Both bathrooms and dining room were over the top with the cool wallpapers! Like you said it is a shame this one has to go! Thanks for sharing
Wow that house is awesome beautiful. I love it. Those bathrooms were so very pretty. The stylish front entrance with the double doors, wainscotting , curved staircase , the curved wall , so much detail. It was really big also for the 60's. I would move into it for sure . I loved the fireplace also I believe it might be slate as that's what it looks like. I also love the cedar closets something you just can't find now. Keep up your great adventures my friend. 🌞🌞
Oh sweeeeet! But the Carpet battens upstairs had me puzzled. They aren’t hard to rip out, and they HURT if you tread on them, so why leave them?! Another shameful tear down - I wouldn’t change much and would live there in a heartbeat!
@Ethan Minnie, Wow, beautiful house; whoever owned it really kept it in great condition. They really loved the wood paneling back then, eh? ❤😊❤😊❤ Love your channel! P.S. Ethan, have you ever considered a career in real-estate? I suspect you'd be pretty good at it.
Yikes!! The reflective/foil teal and black bathroom was a shock! But actually I kinda liked it...and the lime green one also. I could see a '60s sitcom in this house! A party house for sure. Great video!
Omg what a cool house. The blue and the green bathrooms were so frkn cool. I was born in 65’ so I remember the green bathroom that was in the house I grew up in. No crazy wall paper tho. Sad to tear something that is in such great shape down…
There should be a law in Canada. If if nothing's wrong with the house then they shouldn't be able to tear it down Wonderful House ready-to-move-in I'll take it
I love these houses you do. And you gave me an idea about the wainscoting in this house for MY house. I have an old house was built in 44 that has chair railing all the way around , so I’m gonna put some of that decorative paneling that I seen today in my house.
Happy belated birthday! I was 10 when that house was built. Talking about shag carpeting , the pile was different heights. You had the low shag and when you raked it , it would show the rows. The red carpet would be considered a high shag and know matter how you raked it , it would look messy. The other popular shag would have been a sculptured shag and it would have a pattern and it was little easier to clean. The other choice would have been indoor outdoor carpet and it would be used in a really high traffic area. My cousin bought a house in this period and they had the indoor outdoor carpet in the kitchen . They shampooed it about once a month . It was a really loud pattern, In carpet you get what you pay for.
We had shag carpeting in our 1959 built home (installed in the ‘70s). And of course you had to have the rake to keep it nice. We had the bar in the basement and the cedar closet too. 😂
What a gorgeous house!!! I absolutely love that blue bathroom……that wallpaper and mirrors are awesome! And this is going to be torn down?!? Glad I am not there to see it!!
Such a nice family house, wouldn't doubt that a executive or Dr. Lived there. The dining room wall mural was just a old English country side scene popular to have especially in dining rooms. The kitchen cabinets were original but they weren't originally white, when you showed the light switch cover under the one cabinet you saw the original stained color of the cabinets. Gave the kitchen a much warmer look and feel. Same color stain cabinets My duplex apartment I lived in California for 18 years had that. The place was built in 1959 same year I came along.
Beautiful home. I don't care what anyone else thinks, this is gorgeous. They tore it down? Shows what kind of taste ppl have today & no feelings for the past.
I was born in 1964. and the 60's and 70's were a wild, and wonderful time period. the room in the cellar was know as a rumpus room. and usually had a bar, maybe a pool table. I love the 60's /70's aesthetic too ! those bathrooms are over the top! just a flippin awesome house all together. so sad it is going to be taken down 😔
I don't know if you noticed, Ethan, but in back the glasses on the top shelf in the kitchen was a Royal Doulton figurine. Depending on which one it is it could be valuable. I'm sure it was left behind by mistake. I found it strange that most of the house was really spacious, but the bedrooms were small with small windows. And the bathroom was pretty small too. But that was the style in the seventies. And there were seldom ensuite baths back in the day. As for the basement: don't go into moldy basements Ethan. There was nothing there that was worth getting exposed to all that crap. Or at least wear a mask! We depend on you! LOVE those stair rails, would love to get my hands on those ! I am not sure that tile in the foyer is original, looks 70's. The one bedroom wood floor you said was new, could have been refinished, but hard to tell from the video footage. It is the narrow planks like the other rooms.
