I revisit your videos and learn something new everytime. Question for you - when you say 'Retargeting' in these videos - are they product retargeting or more of a cross sell? Also, any tips on businesses that have small inventories and faster turnaround times - therefore the products are always changing. Issue with that is that by the time ad starts to optimise and perform the products are mostly sold out!
Yall hiring part time? I just got into content but have been doing sales cold outreach for the last 4 years selling everything from low ticket pest control to high ticket 500k mortgages solar, roofs, ect. I created a tiktok and instagram about 2 months ago and got both from 0-5000+ followers with a few viral hits 200k+. I'm looking to do part time work and can commit to at least 1 year 10-25 hours a week. I have a masters in analytics and have worked with some of the top fashion brands in the world to leverage their physical adspen dollars to the best location for thier billbords and street advertisments. I'm not asking to work with you specifically really anyone at your company that would be within my zone of proximal development.
It seems creating videos 'educating' people is a bigger money maker than actually running ad campaigns and selling products.
All depends.
I am super happy that he gives us so much free insider information about meta ads, I learned so much from his videos! He deserves to make money with that :)
People have been saying this for 5-10years, I think both can work I personally know people succeeding that paid for one of those courses. And I’ve done 10k in revenue my first month without a course with shitty ads and a fairly shitty product, not successful/profitable but I’ve definitely experienced a taste for what could work. It’s not easy though.
No it is not. Believe me :)
So excited! 😆 Love watching all your content! I strive to learn from every video 👍
Love that! Thank you.
Awesome content as always, Chase. The best course out there. Hope you are keeping well.
Thanks Mark! Always appreciate it.
I have never seen such an honest video on Facebook, nobody share these strategies openly
You are a true guy
Thank you
My challenge is to setup datasets(pixel)
Need more clarity on this if you can make a video

Another Banger by Chase,
Man i really wish i had a coaching session, been running facecbook ads for a while but super inconsistent results in the travel and tourism niche
gets to a point that even after a tin of optimization's there's still no improvement , honestly cant figure the errors.
Keep up the great work bro
Love it! What kind of offer are you running?
@@ChaseChappellyoooo!! thanks for the reply bro!!
I basically promote inbound tours in UAE like tickets, safaris and stuff , although my ad creatives look way better than our competitors its hard to filter out people that actually want to book from time wasters
Great video Chase, I love your content. It's very informative and easy to understand. You clearly know it all.
Love that!
This video was very detailed. I appreciate the knowledge. I run facebook ads and I've gotten a few sales, but nothing to be excited about. I appreciate the info.
Where are you sourcing your sales from?
When it comes to testing multiple interests - two questions: A) Is it better to test using ABO Budgets - like 10-20$ / per day on each (and slowly scaling manually - 20% every few days if working?) and B) When you do narrow down your winning audiences in the campaign and if you are using ABO Budgeting should you duplicate those winners into a NEW CBO Campaign or can you just change that current campaign to CBO and set the budget or does that put everything back into the learning phase. I hope that makes sense.
A) Yes, start testing on ABO to control the budget then once down to 3-5 Audiences that are converting scale by 20% every 5-7 days. If numbers hold and you're averaging 25-50 conversions a week switch the campaign to the CBO level and let it optimize from there.
B) No need to duplicate. Retain your learnings and scale.
Appreciate that a lot - thank you for clarification!@@ChaseChappell
Hello Chase! Great content as always. I do have a question though. How do you test new creatives? Do you plug it in on the scaling campaigns right away? And do each of your campaign(interests, lookalike and broad) run the same set of creatives? Thanks man! Appreciate everything that you do.
Hi Chase! Awesome video 👏🏽 thanks for sharing. Definitely learned some interesting things here that I plan to implement. My biggest pain point is fluctuating ROI. Pretty decent budget (thousands) but the return is not reaching over 1.9 (almost 2 but not even 2 %) 😢
1. Optimize your audiences.
2. Shift budget to the best performing audiences with the highest ROAS.
3. Cut underperforming ads.
4. Let the system optimize over longer periods of time.
Chase, tnks video! I have been trying to find a way to structure my google ads account for. How would you go about doing this? Where would you funnel them to?
Fascinating, fascinating, fascinating. Always great, informative, and inspiring posts, Chase. Boom 💣💥
Boom! Looking forward to you joining the mentorship!
Thank you chase! this is really helpful for my company.
Love that!
Hey Chase, great video. For your campaign where you've got a lookalikes campaign split out and then the different percentages of the audiences as the ad sets, are you running different creatives to each of the different ad sets by how close they match the previous purchasers, or just showing everyone the same creative to all the ad sets and seeing which converts better?
Same creatives. The only times it would be different is if we segment retargeting to share specific offers or if there is a separate collection of products that are being promoted.
Chase, great video. I have been trying to find a way to structure my FB ads account for my luxury jewelry brand. For our specific brand we tend to stay away from sales campaigns because we sell high ticket items and would prefer that our buyers come in the store to purchase. How would you go about doing this? Where would you funnel them to?
Nice vid! Biggest pain point here is day-to-day consistency across campaigns.
Narrow down to best performing audiences and ads let it stabilize over 7-14 days.
Awesome video! How should you structure your campaigns if you are targeting different countries around the world?
@chase great video. Question on tracking… what does the attribution window (time) look like on Facebook? Is that data real time? Also, how can we confidently know what audiences to combine then scale?
7 day click or 1 day view. Attribution is delayed by up to 3 days so purchases might show later or to the wrong audience via estimated purchases. Hence why we're working on a software beta.sirge.com to have longer attribution windows and real time tracking so we can optimize/scale sooner with Facebook, TikTok & Google Ads.
Hi Chase, I have seen in your videos the campaigns with great ROAS typically also have a high CPA and AOV. Do you recommend implementing this strategy and optimizing straight for purchases for businesses with a low AOV (e.g. $15) or should they go for a full-funnel strategy? Because I mostly get a very poor ROAS even when my CTR is above 4% as the AOV could not cover the CPA as I just optimize straight for purchases. A video for lower AOVs would be a great help though.
Yes, test this strategy for lower AOVs as well. Then introduce upsells, crossells, complimentary products, and 1,2 ,& 3 pack offers.
thanks for sharing this valuable content with us
Absolutely!
Hello, @chasechappell! I have a quick question: What's your advice on reaching audiences for a fashion brand that offers both men's and women's clothing? In the case of adv+, since we can't specify gender, would you suggest creating distinct catalog sets for various campaigns or should we opt for a unified approach with all products included? When it comes to testing ad creatives, would it be better to experiment with a blend of both genders or maintain separate tests for each?
1. Target different brands in the space, target broad fashion niches, and then test advantage+.
2. I would leave gender open and allow facebook to optimize for you.
3. Test the same ads in each audience.
Hi Chase, quick question. When you want to run ads for your clients, do you usually use your own original add account from your B.M, then run ads and change page/pixel for each client in the ad section or, do you create/partner every ads accounts from each of your client & run ads from their ads account?
1. Have them create ad account then share to your business manager as an agency partner.
2. Always make sure each ad account has it's own pixel to keep the data separate.
I need that coaching call so bad 😢 it’ll mean the world my results are really inconsistent. Went from 6x ROAS in one day to dropping 1.sum. Biggest problem rn is conversion rate on clothing brand website and scaling the ads
Boom! You are the winner for a free coaching call. DM me on my Instagram @realchasechappell to let me know you won a free coaching call and I'll send you a link. We can work on making this more consistent for you. Cheers - Chase

Hi Chase, thanks for sharing the video. I follow another youtube channel and the structure is quite different from yours. What he suggest is testing the audience and find the winning audience groups, then create these audience group under the same campaign. So the structure is: Campaign (like Purchase) - > 3-5 ad sets (like website lookalike / interest-based / warm audience) -> 3-5 ads under each ad sets, every ad sets carry the same 3-5 products.
May i know regarding the performance in a long run, which structure is better for a e-commerce store? Or what are consideration? My market is quite niche, the audience size usually around or below 500k. Thank you in advance!
Every marketing "guru" says that his own structure is THE thing, and every gurus have different ways of advertising etc. I think the only way is to check out some of them then start testing while you are think actively and modify based on your experience and thoughts. Every business is different, there is no a golden way which could be applied for everything with great results, there are only starting points. If any rule is sure is that you have to test, test, test.
@@The1136mark Boom! Testing is key
Hi Chase, hope you are well... great informative videos as always! Question: If I am advertising to multiple countries, is it better to lump them all into one ad set or spilt each country into each individual ad set? Your knowledge would be much appreciated.
Keep countries separate in campaigns to have dedicated budgets. This is more predictable and can show you where "Fake traffic or low quality" traffic is coming from. I would only combine countries on the retargeting.
Thanks Chase! @@ChaseChappell
@@ChaseChappell Mind doing a little brief about fake traffic? How can a person has a fake traffic on his/her Facebook ads.
Hey Chase, great video! When you retarget warm audiences, i.e those who have added to cart - are you using the same ad creative, or a different one specialised for people who have added to cart? Cheers,
Best performing creatives + retargeting specific creatives that only that audience will see.
Solid Video, the first I've seen of yours! will be checking out more! I have always thought targeting swimming pool would be an ideal audience for us. I've never found a solid way to do that. Any chance you could share your secret sauce for that? Cheers!
What do you think about running a awareness campaign to get web visit them? And should this be run alongside broad targeting? Thanks
I would focus on optimizing for conversions. Awareness is going to get you exactly what you ask for just people becoming slightly aware but those types of people in that campaign type are not going to convert. If ROI is the goal then optimize for getting sales.
Thanks for the great content - very informative!
The question I have is that is it better to have a long-running campaign where I keep adding new adsets based on other tests etc (whether I want to add a new audience interest, or new ad creative) or remove ad sets that are not performing well. Or should I avoid that and if I need to add a new adset I would create a new campaign instead?
I've heard that it is not great to adjust the existing adsets or make major changes to the campaign since that will mess up the meta algorithm but I wonder if adding or removing adsets as a whole in the same campaign will have the same effect? I'd assume it would be beneficial to maintain the same campaign long-term as that would let meta learn more and adjust as needed. Curious you hear your thoughts. Thanks!
1, Yes, test and add creatives over time.
2. Then turn off ad sets/ads that are no longer performing.
How do you put campaign level budgets instead of ad level?
So far i did one huge funnel with all my campaigns, doing the funnel in each campaign makes more sense i will try it 🙏
Which kind of creative you test in each campaign in order to not fatigue a small audience nieche ? ( you have to put different creatives for each campaign?)
Great, check out my video on my channel called "the 10 best facebook ads to run" I break down different creatives to test in each campaign.
This strategy was the way in 2018. Quite a few leading voices, strongly advocate for moving to fully broad, single campaign (per business goal) structures (with a creative strategy to complement).
Can you prove with unbiased testing (and data) that this strategy is still valid and better performing than one cbo campaign per geo, one broad BAU adset, then deploy your creative tests as DCT adsets against the BAU?
Both strategies still work. The part 2 to this strategy is shifting towards broad after you've gotten enough purchases and warmed up the account with data.
If you're looking to do lead generation with Facebook ads would you do lead ads, messenger ads or to a landing page?
We do Lead ads to drive to a landing page with a free training or offer and then messenger ads to build personal connections and relationships with prospects.
Should I use a different creative for each Campaign/Adset or can I reuse my best ads each time?
Re-use best ads each time. Then have a dedicated separate 1-2 audiences for a creative testing pool.
Great video...would you rather have a client with a great ad or bigger ad budget?
Great ad since it would likely be able to handle a much bigger ad budget. Hard to scale without good creative ad formats.
Thanks for sharing the structure! We have included 3-5 ads under each ad set combining a few offers (e.g. New Arrivals + Sale). However, Facebook allocated all budget towards Sale ads. Do you have any advice on how to avoid this?
You can launch new ads into testing in a separate audience to get dedicated budget then once you see which one performs best you can duplicate it into the scale audiences.
Really very helpful video.
I have a question. One my ad account have a trend which perform good one day and then very very on next day. And it is continuing from past few week.
What could be the possible reason?
That's normal until you exit learning at scale.
AMAZING VIDEO🔥🔥🔥
Boom!
Good stuff man, quick question...how many ads are you putting in each ad set for these campaigns? Some people say 1, while others say 3-5 up to 10-20. Just curious what you recommend thank you
3-5 for testing. If you launch 10-20 then you better have a large budget otherwise 80% of those creatives are barely going to get any spend at all.
Great value Chase. I have a question - for lookalikes, do you narrow the age range based on past purchases or keep it broad (18-65+)?
Keep it broad. The system will optimize for you.
Thank you so much
Hey chase love your content ….. can you please make a video on to run Facebook ads for any local businesses
For sure!
@@ChaseChappelllike skincare brand please
I would like to know, what kind of testing method did you use?, because am using a single interest with two same creative but different headline. And am not sure if it’s a good way to keep using it further! Could you tell me your thoughts please?
Try to test additional creative variations. The more variants the more likely you'll find an ad that converts more broadly at scale.
hey chase! insightful video. Just wondering here though, if we have a fairly low budget, would you say that running a broad purchase campaign is a good go to plan? Just wanted your thoughts. Never truly know how much to spend to see decent results! Obviously ad creative plays a role.. But yeah would be great to hear on this
1. Start with $5 per ad set test broad audience and still test 2-3 interests. The broad will start to perform as time goes on especially if you have a small budget.
will try it out, thank you!@@ChaseChappell
Hi Chase, great video! I am new in this business and would definitely need a coaching call to start with better techniques. My store is up with some products, I am not very sure how to use FB ads efficiently to convert the sales and further scale the brand!!
Love that! Start setting up a purchase conversion campaign and test multiple ad variants in each audience.
Hi Chase, I have a question about scaling. Some of my adsets perform pretty good but once I scale the budget up, performance tanks right away. Vertical scaling does not seem to work for my business. But how would you scale horizontally? Creating more campaigns targeting the same audience with different creatives?
1. Have 2-3 more broad creatives that appeal at scale. 2. Scale with smaller budgets. 3. Give it more than 5-7 days to optimize.
Thank you for the input! What happens when you have diverse products? Is it advisable to follow this structure, for instance, different sets of ads for sportswear, casual wear, and new arrivals within a retargeting campaign? Could you assist me with that?"
1. You can have multiple different products in each of your ad sets and then just run the ads that are getting the best results.
2. If you need to dedicate budget to each product then you'd have separate campaigns for dedicated budget to go to them.
@@ChaseChappell Thank you!
When you're adding a product launch campaign for a specific line - how do you deal with audience overlap?
Go broader with the audiences.
Can you please make in depth video about how to create all that add set and campaign.
Absolutely!
Hi Chase,

I am still trying to learn as much as I can about media buying and content creator for a startup brand I am trying to build. Do you have recommendations for testing and tracking data on Facebook? Hello, very good content, Thanks for video! I am a beginner tho, still exploring FB ads, how can I learn to set up and understand these campaigns?
Love that! Continue to model this video and that will help a ton.
I haven't ran ads in about a year do you suggest I start with an open audience or interests? Also, should I start with an awareness campaign or conversions (add to cart)?
Open audience and interests. Optimize for Purchases.
Usually what ratio budget do you allocate to awareness campaign compare to purchase campaign?
Depends on the size of brand and their objectives. If a smaller e-commerce brand we just go straight for conversions.
@@ChaseChappell thanks for your reply. Over what budget and scaling rapidly would you recommend adding the awareness campaign?
hi friend how do you handle the ban situation on facebook, thanks for your support
Make sure you have everything verified, follow policy, have all the security recommendations implemented, and have back up admins.
Thanks boss for the information please i have a question what is the bst way to target people for health care products Thanks 👍
Test broad audiences and be specific with your creative and copy so the algorithm can optimize for you.
How long should we let it run when testing? I mean interest ad set.
At least 4-7 days.
What do you suggest for someone who just started their company and hasn't run a single ad campaign yet?
1. Test organic videos on tiktok.
2. Optimize website.
3. Test with super small budgets on facebook to learn
@@ChaseChappell What do you mean by optimizing the website? Like SEO and metadata? Do you have a video talking about this subject?

Hello Csase Chappell, is there any lessons for facebook ads? by you or by someone else? Thanks for your videos.
Yes, Chasechappell.com/shop
Is this for branded products only or can I use the same strategy for any winning I find?
Can use this for any product
this video is very good
Thank you!
I don't know if this is just me, but when I create ads I always make 2 formats, one for story size and one for feed (square). However, when you create an ad and then replace the formats when setting up the media, you can not use the ad ID anymore to duplicate it to other campaigns/ad sets with the same social proof. Is there a solution to this or do you just don't care about the right story/feed format?
Yes, you have to select view Facebook post with comments then copy the dynamic ID and paste that ID in the use existing post it will duplicate the exact format you viewed in.
Hey Chase, if my campaign doesn't bring results in the morning, do I pause it or let it run for entire day even if I'm losing?
1. Only spend what you are willing to lose.
2. I always recommend at least 5-7 days to allow the campaign to test and see if you get results. Sales can take time. Especially on new accounts.
What do you do when you want to test new interest or creatives?
Launch new interest/creatives together for testing at a low budget.
Waiting for video! I am beginner and so many questions😅

Thanks so much! One more question if you don’t mind. Are you using different creative for each audience to avoid overlap or just the same creative for each ad set?
overlap is on audience, not creative, so as long as your audiences are not overlapping, you can use same creative, especially if you have a winning one.@@vooqo
Do you do stacked audiences or single ?
Both!
Hey if anyone can help me that would be great. So my first ever ad campaign did fairly well about 10 dollars a lead and spent about 60. But as of lately I've spent about 120 and no leads whats so ever. I was ona restricted account of my first account after not agreeing to curcinveting setting or something like that. I made a new account and spent about 40 in the learning phase alone. I run a roof and gutter cleaning business if that helps at all.
Test additional creatives and ad copy to continue to lower your CPL that way you can scale.
How many creatives do you have for each specific campaign?
5 per audience is typical for testing.
can i ask, your broad is almost double the Cost per Result.. is that good?
It will eventually go down as it optimizes. If it doesn’t we turn it off and re-activate it later.

Difficulty in retargeting.
I would love to be considered - I’ve heard you talk a bit about tik tok ads, however does tik tok work for mature audiences ? 40 yes plus women or is it mainly for younger people. Also, what is more profitable - dynamic catalogue, Manual catalogue or videos ? I suppose manual work better in short term but everytime ad is changed it resets the learning - so hit & miss . Thank you 🙏
1. TikTok certainly works for mature audiences I have an interview with a client releasing this video tomorrow on my channel covering how they went from $0 to $250k in 3 months and how they just past $1M in sales in 5 months with their product on TikTok. Their audience is Male over 40+ that are blue collar workers. Which most would think wouldn't be savvy on TikTok. But the data says otherwise. They are crushing it. People who believe TikTok ads or TikTok videos don't work for older demographics are wrong. You just need the right creative strategy.
2. I would recommend manual to start but test both especially if you offer a lot of products.

The biggest problem with facebook ads for me is always the money/fund. You need to invest a lot to see the result. And its in USD.
Only spend what you can afford to lose. Facebook ads require a lot of testing and there are a lot of factors that play into it even outside of the ads. Website, product, offer, logistics, etc to be successful.

With Facebook ads, the audience comes to my site, but there is no purchase. Product price 500$ digital product. What can I do?
Cold be your website not made to convert customers or ad not targeting the right audiance or website doesnt look professional.
1. With higher AOVs products you'll have to be willing to spend at least $500-$1k in spend to see if you get a purchase on your digital product that is priced at $500.
2. Make educational videos, break down everything that is included, the value and share as much info as possible so people know exactly what they are getting.
3. Ensure you have multiple explainer videos and breakdowns on your landing page to further explain what all they get access too.
4. Test video assets for creatives as they tend to do better with products over $500+.
5. Optimize your landing page.
6. Keep testing.

This method is the pre-2017 way of running ads. You don’t need interest or retargeting audiences. Just one campaign with broad targeting and dynamic creative.
