- I'm not listing the channel because I don't want to give them any more shine than they already have. This is ridiculous. I took a break from covering SW because I needed to step away after the Brown family tragedy and I didn't want to profit off their loss. I noticed other channels went in harder on the loss. My view: "live and let live." However, when you have the audacity to target a mother who lost her child, that is a bridge too far for me.

Even if they caused some of the pain in Garrison’s life Garrison was the one who made a choice to end his life, and you can’t blame other people for one individual’s choices. And it is extremely heartbreaking that Garrison felt he had to make that choice.

Thank you so much James. You put into words the way I've been feeling watching this woman disparage and harass this family. The accusations she's made are horrendous. I am no fan of Kody but to accuse him of all these heinous acts with no proof, to make fun of his hair at his son's funeral, to post this young man's text messages makes me physically ill. It's uncalled for. I don't care if it's legal to post those messages. I absolutely don't care... it's unethical and wrong. No one needs to know that information and especially not an audience of reality TV show gossipers. This may sound harsh but, imo, anyone who is justifying this woman's behavior is just as awful as she is. I knew this woman was awful but I didn't think she'd go this low. Thank you again for speaking out against this foul behavior. I hope more and more creators do.

When she posted the police cam videos of Garrison and the roommates and even the text messages, I realized that lady is on another level of money hungry! Supporting you, James! She’ll send her lackeys out in your comments and DMs, but do not let her get to you.
When she released that information my heart broke for Janelle and their entire family. Those messages and moments should NEVER have been made public.

Thank you James, for your vehement defense of a grieving woman. There is a light that goes out in the eyes of a mother that has lost a child. Like she's lost a part of her self. Compounding that grief by blaming them is cruelty just to be cruel.
She replied to a comment on one of her videos where the person stated “you don’t always see the signs”, referring to janelle not knowing what Garison’s situation was.
Then, you-know-who replied “Garrison’s signs were glaring. Janelle knew he was struggling”

Garrison was an adult. It’s a misconception that Janelle could do anything about it. If she could somehow convince law enforcement that he needed to be committed, he could have convinced a judge the next day that he was fine (this is for a mental health issue). For substance abuse, Garrison would have had to make that decision. None of us know what conversations took place within their family. None of us. We have only seen a few minutes of Garrison over the years and suddenly everyone thinks they’re an expert. They need to stop. Leave Janelle the hell alone!
She deleted my comment on her Instagram. I was a longtime follower of WACB but I have taken a big step back from her videos ever since Garrison passed because honestly what she's saying is all her assumptions and so damaging especially to the Sister Wives and their children. It makes me very uncomfortable and my stomach hurts listening to her smear a family who's in the midst of their grief. I think she's toxic. 😢

Her coverage of his passing was sleezeball. She tried to drop the story first, and was bummed the news got it first. She started attacking the father the day after his son passed. She pushed content on every little detail, like commenting on how how people are posed during a candid photo of a private event. She pulled the police records of the son's final texts and posted it, wtf. So tacky, I cannot.

I thought and still think that she is tacky and going after low fruit to make a buck. It's disgusting. If you're speaking about someone else, then they are just as disgusting as Katie Joy's behavior.

As someone who has the unfortunate life experience of having to be the one to find my parents unalived in their home, I cannot state enough how traumatizing that is. I would never wish that on literally anyone. Hearing this is something a RUclipsr would even blame a mother for is absolutely sickening; but sadly unsurprising given who we all know you are talking about. Yes James! When you are a parent of a child with mental health struggles, you will always second guess if you’ve done enough. Having a child involuntarily committed can absolutely help but it can also make things so much worse. There is no training for this, we’re all doing the best we can. So much love and understanding for Janelle.

Amen James! Preacher of wise words! I experienced a suicidal situation with my husband just after we had our first born baby and I returned to work. His medicine wasn't working for him and I made the decision to commit him to the psych ward until he was stable. It was the best decision I made. He got the help he needed and returned home. Had I not been in medical field and picked up on his signs of distress, it could have been different. I have empathy and sympathy for all experiencing this event.
Excellent point. That is one of the things that doesn't get a lot of attention when it comes to these types of situations. Many of the medications used to treat depression can have severe adverse events and should be closely monitored. If you take your hands off the wheel and assume everything is ok because the Dr prescribed them medication, it could invite tragedy.

The person you speak of tries to tie everything about the Browns to the cult of polygamy and the AUB. What happened to Garrison isnt that simple. It's much more complex and unfortunately its an experience that millions of families have experienced who arent in that religion.

I agree. There is a tv explanation being pushed. Not all problems are presented and solved in 45 mins plus commercials. There's more to it, especially if we hope to see the signs in the people we care about and hopefully prevent a tragedy. Unfortunately, even if we see it we may not be able to stop it. As youtubers we call out the outrageous all day long. The least we can do is hold each other to account as well.
When I was hospitalized my brother didn’t know how severe my depression was until a hospital nurse called him. My dad didn’t know until my brother told him. No one has that eagle eye 24/7. There are also people who mask their pain extremely well. It’s just unfortunate.

I lost my sister to a self inflicted shot in 2016 . She asked her partner to go to the car and get something out of the trunk in those few moments she did this
No warning signs no one expected it . If someone blamed her parner or my mother I would tell them they need to keep them mouth shut
My deepest condolences for your loss. I agree with you. We don't know what people are going through and in some cases why they choose to suffer alone and in other cases make unfortunate decisions. As people on the outside we should be the one's telling the people closest to them that "it's not their fault." Unfortunately, they will blame themselves anyway.

Good rant, James. I'm pleasantly surprised to see that you're making videos about Sister Wives again--and without speculating on reasons for Garrison's tragedy. While many people decided to discard Sister Wives completely after the horrible incident, I couldn't. Not because I love gossip and want to see the family crash and burn! On the contrary: I grew to care deeply about the Brown family. After 14 years of watching their show, I felt almost as though I knew them personally.
After Garrison's death, I was so upset that I kept scrolling through RUclips for more videos about it, just because I had no one to TALK TO about the sadness of it all. Your videos about taking a hands-off approach to the issue were so classy...yet I was still casting about for more Sister Wives content to help me emotionally process the situation. To my shame, I got sucked into a video that disclosed the police report and family text messages surrounding the event. Even as I watched that video, I felt dirty. I never want to stoop to that level of invasive curiosity again.
So thank you again for resuming your videos about Sister Wives in a way that respects the family's right to privacy about Garrison. I'm still very interested in hearing about the Browns' interpersonal relationships that do NOT involve Garrison, though I admit it's a contentious topic. I sincerely wish the Browns peace and a renewed appreciation for the family members who are still alive and well.

Yes! We need to make sure our kids know the depths of our love and support from the beginning of their lives with us. (Not saying Janelle didn’t. ) I tell my son all the time how much we love him. That no matter what , we always will be here for him. Even after our deaths he can and should draw strength from our love. I also put it in his head that sadness and depression is only temporary. There is always hope and No matter how dark it might feel hope is always there. My son is a sensitive, deep thinker so I worry about his later years. I’m trying to get that in his head now while he is young.

Thank you James for being a champion for what is right. It is easy to place blame. Let’s do the harder thing and see if we can find some lessons in this tragedy. I believe this is what the Browns are doing. There is something about this family that has captured our hearts and why I think you have more involvement when you discuss them vs than the other shows you are covering. In spite of everything there is something wholesome about the Brown family. Something that is not present with Seeking Sister Wife. They chose this life for the right reasons based on their faith. They believed in it. And though I did not agreed with it, I hoped they would succeed. Blame does no good. They all have to live with this tragedy. That is enough for anybody.

James thank you for coming in hot in this situation it is so hard enough to lose your child then having someone blaming Janelle that is something that could just tear her up seeing this. You are right leave her alone losing your child is like losing a part of yourself then each birthday and every holidays is always difficult.

Janelle should not be blamed. As a license Social Worker I definitely would of called 911 because I'm trained to know when the call should be made. Janelle is not trained to know when to get 911 involved.

@@SaphiraBlu I have watched many of her videos for years. Her and I have different views on many things which is why I don’t subscribe. But her videos are the reason I watched Sister Wives. I think she’s doing a good job exposing things and shining a light for others who may be in a dark place.

Aside from that, she felt the need to "report" on the situation by obtaining and airing the police body cam videos of the scene. Seems like a terrible, heartless overstep that obviously will hurt the entire family, especially Janelle. Yes, anyone can request this info via FOIA, but it comes across as kicking someone when they're down. No boundaries whatsoever.

As a parent who lost a child and a person dealing with Mental Health issues they will throw you off. I talked to my son the day before he took his life he was so happy telling me about his vacation next week. I was on the phone when he requested the next week off from work. The last thing he told me was "Mom I Love You". I said I love you too, the next day I got the call. I still question myself everyday why I didn't notice something. This is still fresh 11/20/20, my life forever changed. A parent can't just have your child put in a facility for help we tried, sending prayers to this family may God comfort them in their time of sorrow.

Well said. I know who this person is. She is not a very nice person and has her own issues. What she is doing is cruel. Janelle lost her child. Worst thing that can happen to anyone.
The RUclipsr you’re talking about did 5 or 6 videos a day when Garrison passed. She even had to retract a story. Logan did not want his mom to walk in and see what Gabe saw.
And I don’t doubt that if Logan had been in Flagstaff he would’ve gone himself.

I am pretty sure the content creator is Without a Crystal ball. She is an awful person and has been attacking other creators, and lying about them. She has done alot of awful things if you look it up. I stopped watching her awhile ago because she lies and hurts the people she is supposably covering. and she does most of this stuff to feed her pocketbook. look her up and see all the awful things she has done.

She's uploading several videos about Garrison every day. We know what happened and it's okay to talk about it, but uploading sooooo many videos about the same thing is distasteful. It's being done to profit over someone's tragic death. James, Pop Psych, and Realitea Squad all have videos talking about it too, but in a respectful way that clearly isn't about making money and getting views.

I've given side eye to some of her previous content, but the way she's gone about covering the recent tragedy in the Brown family has been one of the most appalling things I've ever seen on RUclips. I second every point you made on this video, James, and all I can say is bravo!
The more people call her out, the better. I've watched her do some messed up things over the years. What she's doing now is really disturbing, but kinda par for the course with her, it seems.
