- During the RGG Summit 2024, a lot of Yakuza fans were eagerly waiting for the next Like A Dragon game, and I can’t believe that Majima became a pirate before GTA VI. Here's why you should be excited for LaD Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii...
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is an upcoming Side Story game from Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Follow Captain Goro Majima who lost his memories in search for pirate treasure in Hawaii. LaD Pirate was first announced on September 20th, 2024, during RGG Summit 2024, which was streamed live on both RGG Studio's and SEGA's official RUclips channels.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a continuation of the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth stars Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu as dual protagonists. In spite of the format, Kasuga serves as the main character from start to finish, with Kiryu framed as a supporting character in Kasuga's story.

What’s funny was that this game’s details was leaked on 4Chan and virtually no one believed it because of how ridiculous the details were.

RGG has actually confirmerd that'll be a longer game.
Slightly 1.3 to 1.5 times bigger so gaiden was around 10 hours this should be 12-15hr

I looked at the combat at .25x speed, and it looks like you can cancel your attacks with a jump, which is huge when it comes to combat depth.

I think reuniting with Makoto would ruin one of the best stories in the entire Yakuza series for me. He was glad she found a normal life. Leave it as is

Cant wait to fight a ship filled with amon clan members while jo amon sings sea shanties to regenerate his crew and have death beams suddenly shooting out of the cannons, while also having the classic dod style.
I wonder if the reason Majima lost his memory is because he got blackout drunk after figuring out Kiryu has passed away. I mean considering that this takes place 6 months later we could very well see Majima’s reaction to Kiryu’s condition

Kiryu is getting treatment, I don't think it will help a lot but he will at least have a couple of years instead of months to live
@@Grande_Vtrhonestly, I’m hoping they end the main series before Kiryu dies. As much as I love Ichiban, it just ain’t Yakuza / LAD without the Dragon himself. 😔 sadly though, if that were the case, the series would probably only have a game or two left before its conclusion.

7:56 I actually think that RGG are done with the two of them, especially since in Majima Saga in Yakuza Kiwami 2 Majima and Makoto have had their final interaction and their arc rounded up. I do understand that Mad Dog needs some love too, but Makoto is definitely not the person, especially since she has her own life and family now

I absolutely love the fact this whole random ass setting of pirates was made for Majima only because he have an eye-pach
I feel like every game title is gonna meet in a singular game which is also the conclusion of its' story as a whole. It is kinda building in that way. Somebody needs to address that nuclear waste on how to get rid of it and help the Fujinomiya Group against legal battles(It's Yagami's call since he's already back at being a lawyer). This incoming majima game is kind of going in that direction on why Bryce Fairchild says that there are alot of people involved in this project and they will not be happy if the nuclear waste disposal project will come to light.
Can't wait for Majima to become Immortal by the end of this game

FINALLY another majima game. Ever since my first Yakuza game (Yakuza 0) I've been wanting another fledged out majima game.
I enjoy their dedication to keeping it grounded in Japanese culture. It’s the same reason I enjoy Black Myth Wukong. I’m tired or Greco-Roman lore.
I heard some rumors that the next game was going to have another popular character as the protagonist, but i kept my expectations low. Why would they do Majima, i thought, because thats exactly what everyone wants?
Then i woke up to the game and i thought i was dreaming still 😂

In Yakuza kenzan,Majima lost memories and become a pirate (or bandit?)
In Yakuza dead souls,Majima had a pirate outfit.

I think they know how popular he is, Kiryu is the franchise but Majima over shadows him in combat, personality, and charisma however, Kiryu as lead is more sustainable than Majima. IMO Majima should have carried over the franchise after they ended Kiryu's arc, although newer fans enjoyed Ichiban and both 7 and 8 are well received, I always thought Majima could also play Ichiban's role without much compromise with the way RGG comes up with new ideas.

Two things that i hope in this game
1: hoping that the EN dub is still a thing in this cuz i want to hear Matt Mercer singing 24 hour cinderella and a big maybe Y2K`s I love you and seeing makoto again in the cutscene( and the biggest maybe seeing makoto herself after Y2K majima`s side story)
2: that the length of this game should be fairly long enough but not fairly short (maybe around 10 chapters) and good side content, side stories and side activities compared to Gaiden main story.
So we can take control of our ship
I mean. This will come to Gamepass right? So the price question will be quite manageble at the end of the day.
I am already wondering if this game will lead up to the future eventual Yakuzing 9.

Completing everything is a cool concept till Mahjong and Shogi enter the chat. Those 2 are the literal only reason I've looked at a Yakuza game and said "nope, don't care about trophies" and one of the only times I'll ever say, this would have been appropriate to localize as chess/checkers, dominoes, etc. instead for the west.
Mahjong isn’t too bad, it’s just explained terribly in game. They already have chess, that’s essentially what shogi is. I just wish they wouldn’t tie a trophy to Mahjong.
For me mahjong and shogi isnt the issue but all the dating stuff...my TV is facing the hallway

This year so far i have played Yakuza 0 and 1 and i also am doing Majimas full tattoo on my body😂.That aside i wanna know why did they change the game mechanics in the newer games? Why turned based?
Its only for the Ichiban character in the Like a Dragon and Infinite Wealth game
They thought that a gameplay change would make it fresh + there are still action games!! (such as this majima game!!)

Yk this has been a absolute awful year for pirate games sea of thieves is the only competent one and that's fallen off so much and now (AS I TYPE THIS COMMENT) cheaters can ban people but this is genuinely such a saving grace for pirate games and ik for a fact this is going to be fire this has saved pirate games already I hope sot fails and this game becomes the most popular pirate game coz sot doesn't deserve it anymore this will
