    • @Snipes432
      @Snipes432 5 лет назад +153

      Well, updating the content to the newer engine, with the new capabilities (road degradation) is an effort that needs to be repayed. It's not that they just dumped it into DR 2.0. The ice patches are now much more significant, and are finally dangerous even outside the "ice" region of the track.
      And it's not like they are asking a ridiculous price. They are asking 3.5e, which is less than you would pay for one beer in most western countries. It is also less that most games ask for stupid visual DLCs.

    • @michaelw6277
      @michaelw6277 5 лет назад +45

      @@Snipes432 I absolutely understand that it required a certain level of effort. But it seems like that level of effort is still dramatically less than all the work required to build new stages from the ground up and could have been a great addition to the base game.
      I enjoy Codemasters titles enough that I'm happy to pay full price for them, but if this is how they're going to push DLC I feel like I'm better off waiting for their games to go on sale.

    • @HeretixAevum
      @HeretixAevum 5 лет назад +42

      I'm fine with it because they are actually pricing the DLC very reasonably which is more than I can say for many other games. Also, I think DR2.0 actually breathes a lot of new life into these old stages. Monte looks way nicer visually and is a much better drive with the physics, the ice is way more appropriately slippy now than it was, and despite the criticisms I still think the regular tarmac physics are a noticeable step up from DR. I look forward to reliving the other DR locations as they come.
      That said, I do hope future DLC will bring at least a couple of new locations. The two I really want to see are Japan and Rally Safari. That way we'd have every continent.

      I think it would have went over better if they had made like 2 of the base game stages these updated DR1 stages and made the DLC 2 new stages and one more updated one. That would have felt better to me. Im not unsatified with what we are getting(and this stage feels great/quite different to drive with the ice parts), but its kinda annoying to not get any REAL new stages for the DLCs

    Not sure if you have your speedo set to mph or kph in this video, but if it's set to kph, they failed on how slippery ice actually is. Because at those speeds, you would have had substantially more grip with rally studded tyres. I drive on roads as tight, icy and slippery as that for ~6 months every year on normal studded tyres, and have spent countless hours drifting regular cars during winter, and they have more grip than this Porsche, which just doesn't make sense, as it's got far better tyres and less weight. It would still be slippery as hell, but it would handle more speed than what we're seeing here. IF the speedo is set to kph, that is. If it's indicating mph, they did good and the handling makes sense.

    Umm, not trying to boast, but I'm really wondering if something is set to beginner mode with my setup - I've got 65h in the game after buying a used Logitech G27 a month ago, all assists are switched off (AFAICT - are there any settings besides the options>assists?), have seen this video an hour ago, and just gave it a try - and I think my time doesn't look bad compared to Jim's. That shouldn't happen. I'm certainly not a naturally-talented sports person and haven't been driving racing games much at all in the last 10 years. So I need to ask, did something significant change about Dirt Rally 2.0 in the meantime, making my 2022 time uncomparable to Jims from 2019? Or is it just a setup question? The default tune for the Porsche is not great for snow IMO - I figured it would need all the traction it could get, so I decreased rear camber, switched the diffs to maximum lock, raised 1st+2nd a bit taller to make it easier to shoot out those hairpins, decreased the spring rate and removed the rear anti-roll bar. Oh, also rather rear-biased braking (no surprise there in a Porsche). Basically, took me three test runs (and a jump-start), including finding the setup from scratch.

    Hi Jimmy, can you describe how strong your FFB is? I had the chance to drive with the 9 times Le Mans Champion, Tom Kristensen in the new Audi DTM car, as I’m also from Denmark. And it doesn’t seem like the steering wheels rotation is that stiff IRL. But then again it was a new DTM car. Not an old rally car.

    Friendly recommendation: mirror your self cam so when you turn left on screen it looks like you are turning the same way on cam. Just a little thing that I think would improve a lot 🤘🏽 loved the video

    Why does the co-driver sound exactly like Agent 47, same voice actor?

    Thanks for the discount code. It made me think that I might want some purpose built shoes for my rig and I’m wondering if you think I should get some?

    Would you consider Dirt Rally physics good enough that it would theoretically work as a normal Racing Game?

    I just dont see myself spending 60 dollars on this game. I bought dirt rally 1 pre release with the same amount of content for 30 dollars. yet dirt rally 2 wants 60 dollars for the same amount of stages, and charge me an additional 30 bucks just to race on the stages I already have done a hundred times? what the fuck??

      Now think about how much a game for the SNES was back in the day. Yup, around 60 dollars. Is it really that bad? The game is a blast. I only wish they would include some form of hill climb, like Pikes Peak or Mt.Washington.

    Tbh it’s not realistic where the ice is on that stage, areas in the sun have ice, areas in the shade are tarmac?

    Is the multiplayer in this as bad as it was in the first Dirt Rally? I used to play Colin McRae Dirt back in the day and the multiplayer was brilliant and that was in 2006.
